Good morning chicks,

Izzy, way to go on the pound lost and also on the Olive Garden NSV! I love that place because I can do the same (eat 1/2) and be perfectly happy eating their great salad (I always pass on the bread).

I walked/exercised for about an hour yesterday and really ate very little all day, but no change. Hoping for a whoosh later on in the week, I feel I deserve one! People brought in homemade cookies, doughnuts and doughnut holes this morning at work. I had a doughnut hole and it was so sweet I have no desire for more.

I'm still motivated to lose the 10 pounds by the 4th of July - Have a great day everyone, and get out and walk!

Hello Everyone
Thanks andi. I did not get my exercise or walk in today. I had to be at work at 8am and worked late. By the time I got home I was so tired. I was running late this morning and forgot my lunch, by 2pm I was so hungry. Today was pizza & donut day where I work for the elderly. I pass up the donuts and continued to work, by 2 I gave in to pizza. I did not eat dinner and hope I can at least not make things worse. I bet I will plan better for tomorrow. Now all I can think about is that I just undone the good that I had accomplished. I will just count this as my day off and Wednesday make up for all the bad. Its hard if you don't plan, there is always something that will trip you up. Ok got things planned pretty good for the next couple of days.

Hugs
Izzy

Good morning ladies,

I didn't get in all my walking yesterday, only about a mile. Eating wasn't bad but no loss. Intend to eat healthy again today and get in an hour of walking and weights.

I think the two words I need to remember each day are committment and consistency. I read posts on other threads where people have cheat days or binge days and then wonder why they're not losing - like it's OK to diet part-time as it suits them, because they really want to eat out and have dessert, etc. For me, part-time doesn't work at all and if I allow myself that pizza one day (as I did last week) that may cause me to not have a loss for the week even if the other days are fine. I guess I just have to buckle down and decide what's more important. I really regret eating all that pizza when I could have had something healthy and I hope to remember that the taste was certainly not worth the set-back.

Today:
BF: HB Egg
Lunch: Big green salad, 1/2 chicken breast
snack: handful of almonds
dinner: homemade bean soup, cole slaw, grilled veggies

have a good day all!
Andi

Andi - You are very dedicated to your diet and exercise. At one time in my younger days I lost and kept it off with that same attitude, but now in my 60's I am having difficulty getting back to that same mindset. But you are right, it has to be a way of life, not a diet. I know I am going to get a stern lecture when I go to the doctor's on Tuesday, and maybe that's just what I need. He will probably be glad that my wounds are practically gone, but my weight and exercise are not good. :-(

Hi again,

Carol Sue, I'm so glad to hear that your wounds are almost gone - wow that took awhile, didn't it? I'll bet that if you put your mind to it, you could lose 2 pounds by your Tuesday appointment - it's only Thursday, and some daily exercise and watching the carbs and sodium might just do it!

Isn't it funny how our idea of Old keeps creeping up there? I used to think my history teacher was old when he was only 35...now my idea of old probably starts around 75 HAHA. BTW, I'm 55 and no spring chicken myself, but I just don't feel old or ready to slow down yet. Hope that continues and I know I'm blessed to have good health.

Take care and enjoy the day!

Andi

Hello Ladies,
Thanks for your advise and you both are right. I guess I am still finding my way and twicking areas that need. I am doing alot better and I need to plan, I ahve not been to store for a while. I get paid every 3 weeks and so I don't always have the best of choices. But I will plan better. Carol Sue, I am glad that you are healing well and don't let age play to much of a role. Just do what you can and push yourself and you will be amazed how well you will do.

Hugs

Yes, I might not be as good at the losing game as I used to be, but I will die trying. I will never give up. I think now that this wound care is behind me I will be able to concentrate on my weight/health goals. My stress level has been high through this. Today I'm going to a birthday party/picnic. I shouldn't do too bad because many of the foods they're having are things I don't even like, plus I will be running around after my grandson, so there's my exercise! LOL

Have a good weekend!

Hi Everyone
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Carol Sue, I know things have been very stressful for you. But now its time to concentrate on you. Sometimes it hard to get back on track. I am slowly finding my way, I lost 3 pounds this week. It was hard and I struggle every day. But I will do what I can and keep on until I get it right. If we do our best, then thats all any of us can do. I have walked 3 miles every day except Monday & Friday. I have a bad knee and sometimes I over do it and my body lets me know. I hope that this week will be a great one for everyone. I am trying even harder.

Izzy

Andi - You look wonderful! And what a handsome son! Congratulations to Michael! I like Ohio State. We go to the casino in Wheeling WV and so many people come in there wearing their Ohio State tee shirts!

Hi everyone,
its been quite, no one posting much. I have had a busy week and we have had alot of rain. I missed walking a couple of days because of it. But thats ok, I will work that much harder. I lost 3 pounds last week, so I am not expecting any major change. I can hope. Well I hope all is well with everyone.

Hugs

Hi Girls,
I've been very busy as well - First I moved my son home from school, now I'm getting ready to help him move to Omaha for his job. Had to get my old van (212,000 miles) serviced and hope it can make the trip pulling a trailer. Then my younger son backed into my daughter's car in the driveway, so I'm dealing with insurance claims and estimates for two of my cars. :-(

I've also been busy at work so missed several walks this week. By this time next week things will be back to normal - I hope!

Congrats on your weight loss Izzy and hope everyone is doing well.
