Yesterday I stayed on plan, but DBF brought a take and bake pizza - but it was thin crust and healthy, so I allowed myself just 2 pieces. Today I got in one walk outside (we're in a tornado watch now) and I did the treadmill 30 minutes at lunch. I'm looking forward to tonight when all 3 of my kids will be home from college I'll probably make a crowd pleaser like spaghetti, but won't eat much myself.
Izzy, I know that sugar is everywhere - just do your best and think of your goal before you take the first bite of whatever it is.

Webwoman - I did something similar. When I was still working, I had a calendar on my desk that you flipped to each day. I wanted to lose 20 lbs for my step-daughter's wedding. I wrote a big 20 on the day that I started the diet. Each day I would do that first thing when I got to work, and when I lost a pound I wrote 19, etc. I had to look at the number all day and it kept me from snacking. The bad side to that story is that this was 19 years ago. I have since gained back that 20 pounds and 40 more on top of that! Once my step-daughter was out of the house, DH and I started eating in restaurants a lot more and that was my downfall. Since that time, I have learned what to pick on restaurant menus and to eat half of it and bring the rest home for lunch the next day. I wish I had done that from the beginning!
Things going well, I am losing again I am going to take your lead.
I am writing a BIG 10 for the easter Challenge on my calander and on my bathroom mirror and post on the frig. I think it will really help.
I will post my weight loss tomorrow, I am hoping for a good number. I have been starting every day with one of Jorge microwave, 55 second muffin. It full of fiber and fills me up. I also drink a cup of red clover tea. It is really helping. now that the weather is getting pretty, I can up my walking as well.
Plan for this week:
keep the scale moving
up the exercise
try some new meals
start my spring cleaning

Izzy - Good for you with the 3 lb loss! It might not be water weight....you have been doing well lately and it could very well be the whoosh you've been waiting for!
Webwoman - You are doing so good with your exercise! Just be careful you don't get blown away!
Hope everyone is OK after the big storms last week. We had lots of warnings but they missed my area.
Saturday was very busy for me as we had some car repairs done and I hosted a birthday dinner for 8 with glazed salmon, asparagus, and a lot of other dishes. It was one of the rare times all my kids were home and I wanted to celebrate. Yesterday was an "off" day for me as I think I just needed to decompress after all the work the day before. I got a good night's sleep and have packed healthy foods for today, although I didn't get in early to workout because the roads were TERRIBLE with black ice and accidents everywhere.
Izzy, you're doing great! I hope to see a whoosh soon. Tell us about that Jorge muffin you make.
Carol Sue, if you lost the weight once, you can do it again - After all, you're halfway there!
Good Morning all
Well, last week I lost 4lbs..I still think some of it was fluid, I can weigh today and tomorrow be up 2 to 3 lbs. Itl drive me crazy. But I am doing so much better and I feel better too. I hope I can keep the ball rolling and by summer see a real change. I would love to be in the 170's by then. Please ladies help keep me focused. Its has been helpful seeing you post and reading about your successes. Its great when you have a support group that are friends as well. Friends will tell you the truth and help you face the facts, thanks friends! Have a great week.
webwoman,
Its good to decompress and it sounds like you had a great weekend with family. Just hope right back on track, you will be fine. Here is the muffin recipe, I tweek it a little to make it taste better.
Jorge's new microwave muffin recipe? It's really good, but needed a little tweeking to get it to taste better.
I changed it to:
1/8 cup ground flax
1/8 cup flour
1/2 tsp of baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of coconut oil
1 egg
1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
1 pkg of stevia or 3 tsp of Truvia
mix all together in coffee mug and microwave 50 sec to 1 minute tops!
This is so filling and even though it comes out to be 2 carbs worth it's also got 8 grams of fiber! mmmm good!
I add nuts and sometime berries plus I use quick cook oats instead of flour.
Which Jorge original recipe did not have flour. Give it a try.
You are doing great and the scale is showing it finally!
I've been uber stressed lately and am not sure why but suspect the hormones. Two evenings in a row I caved and ate stuff that I shouldn't have so my scale doesn't move. My son is home this week and I made a homemade meatloaf dinner with trimmings for him.
I am still walking at least 30 min per day... I'm not giving up but would love to see some progress.
Thanks Webwoman
Please realize that things change when we change. just because you ate off plan one evening; should not under mind all that you have accomplished.
Sometomes old habits are hard to break, I know I still struggle every minute. Some times I want go grab a pizza and eat the whole thing. Some times I do. But when that happens, I get right back on track. I eat nothing else for that day. Next day I am on plan and working off the pizza. It is great that you are walking 30 minutes every day. I still have not added exercise, but I have been doing more around the house. My next goal is to add the exercise. If we change one thing at a time, success will come. We will always have slip ups, we just need to learn how to deal with it in a positive way. I knw you will see a weight loss soon. Hang in there and focus on your goals. For the harmones, try Red Clover tea, it works. Oh, look at how far you have already come, I can wait to be where you are on the scale.
Thanks for the pep talk, Izzy, I just need to control my stress in the late evening when I tend to worry about everything.
I did some reading on red cLover tea and it sounds very promising, however since I'm waiting results from my hormone testing I don't want to add it now and mess with the compounded prescription that I will receive soon.
I'm having my green salad with a HB egg and will go on the treadmill soon.
Hi there
I hope all is well this morning. Andi I know what you mean about stress. It is one of the hardest obstacles to over come. Yesterday was not a BFC day for me. I had my grand children and of course they wanted to go to McDonalds. I had a chicken sandwitch without the bread and fries, I always drink water. That was no so bad, but as I have stated. One bad choice leads to another. Later we had mini blizzards. I am human and I do slip up.
I made it my cheat day and today is all BFC. Its all anyone can do when you have an off day. Just get back on plan and up exercise to burn up those extra calories. I am getting better, I am now asking myself if it is worth the choice I am about to make? To bad I did not do that yesterday. I do not want to see the scales go back up. It feels so good to see it go down. So from now on, I will STOP ask that question:"is it worth it, am I willing to gain back what is already gone? I think if I do this and picture my goals,
I might be able to say NO! Well let us focus on our challenge and make through the weekend without blowing it.
Ok ladies have a great BFC weekend
We're all allowed to slip up every once in a while, just get back on plan today and keep going!
Weekends are always difficult for me because it's off the routine of a work week, and when I see my DBF it always involves cooking and eating (he is practically a gourmet cook). On Sunday I'm attending a bridal shower for my niece and they will surely have punch and other bad foods. Her mother is on WW, so I hope to see at least a veggie tray there.
Last night was better stress-wise and I stayed on plan. There's a product called Relacore that I had bought some time ago, and I took a couple of them in the evening. They're sold at Walmart and other places as a diet aid, and I'm not sure what's in them but they do de-stress me. It worked - I didn't cave in and eat snacks late last night. I'll try this for a few nights and see if results are consistent.
I only did 30 min on the treadmill yesterday, as it was raining outside.
