Izzy - I don't think you did too much damage on your "off" day, plus you got right back on plan the next day. If you think about it, naturally thin people don't eat healthy constantly. They do have days now and then when they eat snacks and sometimes overeat. But it's an occasional thing with them, not the norm. They never give it a thought. And that's what you did. Don't ever expect yourself to be perfect every day. It will just damage your self esteem. Know that you are doing well and you are going to win this battle!

WebWoman - If they don't have any healthy choices at the bridal shower, look for something that is one of your favorites and eat a controlled portion of it. Instead of worrying about carbs, or fat, or calories, realize that you controlled your portion and enjoyed what you ate. You can always plan a healthy meal for after you go home. It's not a downfall...just a blip.

Good Morning Everyone,
Thanks ladies for the pep talk and you are right. I went to a raffle for the Humane society and they had really good foood. I ate some fruit and cheese, then had roast beef salad and baked potatoe. But, it was only theamount that could fit on a 6" plate. I did give in to a 2"x2" brownie. I can honestly say that I did not enjoy the brownie. It made me feel lazy. But as I have said, I at least am making better choicesand actually thinking about what I put in my mouth. I am geared up to lose and so be it. I will stumble, but I will not fall. The weather here for the next week will be in the 70 to 75! Hey! Now is the time for me to up the walking. Ladies I hope your day and week will be great! |
Good morning BFC girls!
What a beautiful weekend we had in the midwest, especially Sunday! The bridal shower was ok, but they did have some delicious cookies that I had a few of and some healthy fruit, so all in all not so bad. I came home and did more stress eating in the evening, and forgot to try the Relacore again, but I'll do that tonight. The wedding is April 21 and I will have to buy a dress for that - even more incentive to lose another dress size!!! It's raining today here so I'll only get to walk on the treadmill at lunch. After work I'm getting new tires for my son's car so won't be home till a little later. My goal is to stay on plan ALL WEEK! We can do this! Cheers! |
Good morning ladies,
Good news, I went to the Dr. for my annual, and I didn't shrink a half inch as I had thought - so I'm back to 5'8"! That means I'm in the Normal weight category for BMI. :-) I still need to reach my goal, because I have a slender frame and should not be at this weight. I've been exercising every day (30 min treadmill, 30 min walk outside + weight class on Saturdays) but have not seen a woosh, and I've been OP most days. It's so hard to be patient. How are you all doing? Have a great day! |
Webwoman
Thats great! 5'8 and 160....I would love to be that size. You are doing so well, keep it up and that woosh will come. Me, no change this week. But I will keep trying. Hugs Izzy |
Hi girls,
Another beautiful day in Ohio! I was pretty much OP yesterday, even at dinner with my DS and DBF. Walked 30 min outside and another 30 on the treadmill. It could be a challenge today because we're having a carry-in lunch at work. Lots of homemade things like irish stew, pepperoni bread, cakes, cookies, brownies, cupcakes and the like. :( So far I've limited myself to some homemade salsa, so hope to remain strong! This afternoon I meet with my Dr. to go over the hormone test results, and I'm excited about it. Strange to say I hope they find something wrong so it can be treated and I can feel better. I'll let you know. Have a great day! |
HI everyone
webwoman, how did your test go? |
Hey Chicks!
The Dr. Appt. was disappointing, because I thought she would just go over the lab results and fax the recommended prescription into the compounding pharmacy. However, she is not 100% sold on the accuracy of saliva testing so she had me go to a Compunet lab this morning and get blood drawn for more exact results. If the results come back matching what the saliva test results say, she will go ahead and sign off on the recommended hormone compounding. <sigh> I was very disappointed all evening, but I went ahead and had the blood drawn this morning. It will take a week or two to get the results, but at least the wheels are turning. I did OK at the carry-in lunch yesterday and mostly ate some stewed chicken and salads, not eating any desserts or carb-heavy food. Weight was down half a pound, but can't wait to see the 150's again soon. It's supposed to rain here today, so hope we can get out and do some walking. How is everyone else doing? Andi |
Hi All
I am doing ok, scale has not maved lately. Its time I change up things a bit. Webwoman, hang in there, you will soon have your test results and can get the help you need. You are doing great. hugs izzy |
Good morning,
Had a pretty good day yesterday - stayed OP at work and DBF and I grilled cheeseburgers (no bun) for dinner with cole slaw. Tonight I visit him for grilled salmon and asparagus - Yum! It's spring break for OSU, so my DS is hiking the Appalachian trail this week and my DD is skiing in Colorado. I'll only see them for a day or two. Hope to get some yardwork done on Saturday and maybe begin to do my taxes on Sat or Sunday. Where is the time going? Have a good weekend! |
Hi all,
this week has been more down then up. My eating and planning as been all over the place. The scales are screaming.....what are you doing?? I wish I knew. |
Good Morning everyone,
I am challeging everyone to lose 2lbs. this week & add 1 more exercise. Do this exercise for the whole week and see how you feel next Sunday. I hope all of you had a great weekend and That this week will be your best. Hugs Izzy |
Izzy - I am going to take your challenge. I try to weigh every day and record my weight in FitDay, but also, I have a balance beam scale and I leave it set to today's weight and then the next time I can see readily if I gained or lost. The last time I tried walking on my treadmill, I ended up with bad pain in the tendons of my foot. I think I will try it wearing my brace on my foot. If I do get the pain back again, I don't have anywhere important to go this week so I will be able to put my foot up and give it a rest. It hasn't hurt since the last time I was on the treadmill, and I wasn't walking fast, but did go for 30 minutes. The walking I do otherwise is just casual walking around the house or in a store and I guess it's not long enough or hard enough to cause the pain. I'm curious to see if it comes back again with the treadmill.
WebWoman - Like you, I am aiming for the next lower weight bracket...which in my case is the 170's. I think it's important to set short term goals rather than looking at the big picture all the time. Sometimes that can get depressing. |
Good Morning chicks!
Izzy, I'll take you up on that challenge! I'd love to see that Dam* scale move under 160!! What a good idea. :-) Carol Sue, sorry to hear about your sore tendons in your foot. Treadmills can be hard on our feet due to sort of a pounding - do you have a really good pair of running shoes with good support? Hope the brace helps. I had a very productive weekend - stayed OP with DBF's salmon dinner (delicious!), and on Saturday, worked like a fiend doing garden clean-up. Made a big pot of Bean soup and enjoyed a slice of cornbread with it for dinner. Sunday was beautiful and I actually got my taxes done and filed. Yea! Bad news - I had a call from my Dr. on Fri. that some of my lab tests came back. Although I have high HDL (good cholesterol) and low Triglicerides (good), my LDL is too high. They wanted to "call something in" for me (probably statins) but I told them no, I'm not ready to be put on yet another drug that I'll have to take for the rest of my life. I'm trying like heck to lower my LDL with diet and supplements (Omega 3, Flaxseed and Fish Oil, Red Yeast, Coq10, and Milk thistle) and will request that I'm re-tested in 3 months. I get so sick of Dr.'s only treading symptoms instead of addressing what we may do to cure the problem. I guess that's what they're taught to do and Big Pharm loves it. So I'll be deviating somewhat from BFC to eliminate more animal products and saturated fats, including cheese and Full fat salad dressings. :-( It sucks to get old! Have a great day! |
