Welcome lucindaarrowspark,
Thanks for posting. Good Luck with your golds. |
Good morning all,
I had a good day meal-wise, but still no movement on the scale. I walked twice outside (tot 3 miles) and did the treadmill for 30 minutes, so I wasn't exactly sedentary. I must have the most stubborn fat ever! Even more anxious to hear back from the hormone people about my lab work, as the weight should be coming off. As frustrating as this is to me, I am starting to see my waist again. (yea!) It's supposed to get into the 50's today here, so I'll be sure to take more walks. <sigh> Have a great day! |
BFC question iPad app
I have a question about the belly fat cure. When counting carbs for 1 meal, please help me figure which is correct.
Frozen meal (lets say veggie lasagna) has 25 carbs so it equals 2 carb servings. If I eat a side dish in the same meal that has 6 carbs I'm eating a total of 31 carbs which is still 2 carb servings right? Or is it 3 carb servings? I'm confused because the iPad app for this diet has you list food items separately, not by meal, so my carb servings add up quick. Any help you can provide on this would be great. BTW I'm on day 6 and down 4.5 lbs! Yay me! |
DeeDee1214 Welcome!
Congrats on your weightloss:carrot:. Counting Carbs is as follows: 0 to 4 carbohydrate grams=not counted 5 to 20 carbohydrate grams=1 serving 21 to 40 carbohydrate grams =2 serving 41 to 60 carbohydrate grams= 3 servings Hope that helps. Please check in any time. Izzy |
Hi webwoman,
You are doing great, keep it up and the scale will move.Hey seeing your waste is wonderful. My day was busy and food pretty good and I am tired. Tomorrow I will get my walk in and do great I hope. maybe by Monday the scalewill move for me. |
Thanks Izzy! So do you take each item from your meal, including your beverage, and add the carbs all together before you count the servings? This may seem like a silly question but it got confusing when I started using the iPad app to track the S/C because the app doesn't let you combine carb grams before you calculate servings.

Hi all,
Deedee- yes, you count up all the carb grams for your meal before recording them. It sounds like there's a glitch in the app which adds extra servings. So your veggie lasagna has 25 carbs, and the side dish has 6 carbs for a total of 31 carbs which would count as 2 carb servings for the meal. Congrats on 4.5 pounds gone, that's awesome!! Izzy, hope you're more energized today and can get out and walk - I'm sure you'll feel great after it's done. I'm down just half a pound, the rest of the fat must have decided to stay put. :( Yesterday I walked on the treadmill for 30 min at an incline, and walked outside for 3 brisk miles. I didn't make it to a class at the rec center because I had to install drapery and hardware for 2 windows in my dining room. I hate drapery hardware! Breakfast: HB egg, 1/2 cup blueberries Lunch: Huge green salad with raw veggies; broiled chicken cutlet Dinner: Ground round patty (no bun); asparagus White wine (which is probably the culprit) We had big thunderstorms pass through here this morning, but it should dry out and get in the mid 60's today. More walks outside! Have a great day! |
Thank you, webwoman! That's what I was hoping to hear :cp:

Webwoman - I think you are doing exceptionally well with your eating, and with the exercise factored in, you should be losing. But sometimes it takes your body several days to "catch up". You just might get a whoosh soon! Keep up the good work!

Hi all,
Hey, how about an Easter BFC Challenge?! I'm going to try for 10 lbs in the next 38 days, going from 160 to 150, but 5 lbs would be a good round number, too. By then we'll be wearing our capri pants and shorts again. Maybe my arms will be more toned and not look like hams in a tank top. HAHAHHA |
Hello Ladies
Looks like everyone is doing great. Andi, I am in for the Easter challenge. Tomorrow is the first day of March and a perfect day to start a challenge. I myself need to add more exercises. I have not had a change in the scale, but my rings are falling off. I also need to increase my water. Maybe the scale will move by Monday. :bunny2: |
Good Morning All
Up and off to a good start to the Easter Challenge. I have learned one thing resently, I am allergic to bread. I swell within 5 minutes of eating it. My hands, feet be come tight and it makes me feel bad. So I guess that it is actually a reaction to gluetin. Well I will drink lots of water and I am off for my exercise. Have a good day. Izzy |
Good morning chicks,
Izzy sorry to hear about your bread allergy. Have you tried Ezekiel 4:9 bread? It's gluten free and sold in the frozen food section. Doesn't taste as good, but much healthier. I had a good day yesterday, and got in 4 mi of treadmill and outside walks in this beautiful weather (it got up to 69 I think). This morning I got up early and worked out in our gym for 45 minutes and plan to do it again at lunchtime. I talked to my sister who watched Biggest Loser and came up with an inspiration. One of the guys had to lose 5% of his weight in so many days at home, (16 lbs) so he wrote 16 throughout his house, on his hand, etc. He said that every decision he made he would first ask himself "will this help me reach my goal of 16?" He was completely focused on the goal and actually made it happen. That is self-discipline, and something I strive for; actually 16 is my magic number as well! Have a good day! |
Hi Everyone,
Wednesday was a pretty good day. I did well with the carbs and so, so with sugar. I need to do a little better with that. It is so hard sometimes, because there is sugar in every thing. I did great with water & vitmans, exercise I need to really up it to burn more calories. Well, one step at a time. Have a good day all. Izzy |
