Whew. Well, it's back to work tomorrow for this old chick. Ack. Ugh. Bleeecchhhhhhhhh!!!!! I could SO get used to having my days to myself. Yesterday wasn't too awfully productive, and today wasn't either - today I went over and spent a few - okay, 4 - hours hanging out with DD and the twinnies. BOTH are walking now - I probably already said that? They look so cute lurching around; they seem so small. Guess I'll have to hit the bed early tonight - I've been staying up late and getting up late (for me, that is. 7:30or 8:00 feels REALLY decadent to someone who is ordinarily up at 5:30).
I LIKE your new avatar, PT :D ...there IS a difference, girl! You're really slimming down, m'dear! Great job!
Glad that all is well, Lynn....did they say why they rushed you in there like they did?
Rosey, hating exercise isn't such a bad thing. You could be a member of my exercise hater's club, y'know. ;)
Freda, you and I share the same reluctance to weigh when we know we've put on a few pounds. I know when I've gained, too, and prefer to delay the inevitable until I'm feeling a little less marshmallowy. I get depressed if the scale has crept too far back up, and if I'm feeling depressed, I want to eat. :o
Bobbi, you should start up a bakery or something....I betcha you could make a fortune at it!
Welcome, newbies - I'll get your names and such all figured out if you keep coming around. Lotta people drop in and drop out by the time we all start knowing a bit about who they are and what they're like. We DO welcome newbies, though - glad to see our little group grow a bit.
Isabella, I hope you're okay, honey. Give us a peep when you can.
Take care, all.

Just stopped in for a quick peek and saw Lynn's note...... I'm SO glad! And I want to hear, too, like PT/Zoe... why the high drama of bringing you in to tell you all is well?????????

Night, all..... sleep in peace!

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! I am not really doing a "diet" and I am not doing anything "planned" at this moment. I am working on eating healthy and making healthy choices. I have the potential to be a compulsive eater and I really want to maintain balance. Restricting myself sends me for a loop but opening the gate to eating what I want when I want isn't a favorable choice either. Here I am putzing along...learning and growing and appreciating what I have. I hope that doesn't all sound too corny! I am from Iowa, you know

Good Morning, All...
Rosey, did you see the video of the two baby moose (moose? meese? mooses?) cavorting in the sprinkler, with Mom looking on proudly? Adorable! And are you getting ready for the onslaught of company? Good luck! and Enjoy!!

Busy day ahead... busy next four days ahead! I'd better get rolling... all is status quo here! No complaints, feel great.

Be safe, everyone!

Karen3 06-03-2010 09:59 AM

Morning all......Wow what wonderful news Lynn...phew maybe traveling more will make everything better! I can see a plan forming around that idea.

Rosey...that has to be the littlest moose I have ever seen. We have raised whitetail fawns, but that baby is adorable and mama is so ready!

Zoe...Hope your 1st day back to work is easy and gets you smoothly back in your groove.

Me dumb me....when will I learn? I use Fitday every day and looked yesterday and realized that past few days am not eating enough. Will shut off my losing ability. Darn it! So at 9pm last night I had a bowl of vegies. Now this morning am still full from vegies and can't stuff breakfast down my gullet. Is there a Stupid award?

Made the best tasting yellow squash past 2 nights for dinner. Chunked them with some sweet onion. Added dash of water and spoon of ICBINB light and nuked for about 7 minutes. Very little juice and lots of squash in every bite.

Need to get my act in gear. The kitchen needs a cleaning. I hung the new curtain in the living room which has now caused Dash absolute terror. He hates change. 65 lbs of wimpy dog! And a couple of loads of clothes need washing. I'd rather be playing bridge.....sighhhhhhhhhhh.

hugs, karen3

Good morning, Everyone,

Hot, humid, and cloudy here – probably rain this afternoon.

Yesterday's NSV - my DD & SIL came over to my house last night with buffalo wings & pizza. I didn't even have a bite!

I am supposed to go to my DD’s this evening for dinner & to watch LOST with her. I got VERY different understanding of last episode than she did. We will watch together & see who was right.

Any baseball fans here? Should the guy get credit for perfect game or not? I think he should.

Off to make my WW breakfast pie – egg beaters, onions, peppers, and veggie sausage in pie crust.

Check back later,

Lynn

Hi Zoe & Donna,
Basically miscommunication among receptionist, doctor, and me. I had appointment for next week to discuss biopsy results. I called on Tuesday to inquire about results. Receptionist had a cancellation for yesterday & told me to come in so I could discuss results with doctor. They have a policy that only doctor may discuss report results with patients.
My DD was with me & was ready to fight with doctor. I stopped her. I was just happy to hear good information!

Hi Rosey,
We get deer in our yard, but I’ve never seen a moose outside of a zoo.

Hi Cathy,
You write you are “…working on eating healthy and making healthy choices.” Some of my strategies for this are - having the right foods in the house (and getting rid of the wrong foods), preparing good meals and snacks for the week, keeping a log of what I eat each day, exercising every day, limiting my intake of white flour/white pasta/white rice products, and keeping sugar/sweets out of my diet completely. What are your strategies?

ellabella 06-03-2010 01:04 PM

So here I am at work. Ack is right. E-mail up the wazoo and phone messages and post-it notes, and fifty thousand people who apparently can't get along without yours truly. Ridiculous. They'd better figure out how to do it, because I have no intentions of being here forever. I don't know where I'll be or if I even WILL be two years from now, but I know where I WON'T be, and that's sitting here looking outside and wishing I was out there instead of in here. Seems like I did enough of that in High School. (College was okay; I kept busy enough with stuff I actually liked doing so that the time went by VERY quickly). Funny, though, that I should find myself back to looking out windows with great longing again at this late date. I really enjoyed yesterday and the day before after getting home from the White Mountains. I enjoyed being able to get up and do only what I wanted to do. VERY neat, I must say.
So, after being very successful at maintaining my *healthy eating routine* while hanging out and running about with our friends, I have to report being a little less successful while at home with unlimited free access to the refrigerator and food cabinets. I didn't veer too far off the proper path, but did veer off a bit. Back to basics again today, tho, and feeling better for it.
Feeling very lethargic and unmotivated. Doing what absolutely must be done (Submitting my mileage reimbursement request for May) but not much more. Planning pasta for supper using my frozen pasta sauces that I made a few weeks ago. That, and a salad. EZ. I couldn't handle anything too labor intensive tonight.
I hope Isabella checks in sometime soon. I know she must be exhausted. Four hours with the twinnies yesterday and I was too pooped to pop last night.
Happy belated birthday, Cathy.
Lynn, your breakfast sounds yummy. I wish I could still eat eggs. I have always loved a nice omelet or a quiche. I developed an allergy to eggs about 4 - 5 years ago, and haven't been able to eat any part of an egg without getting deathly sick ever since.
Yo, PT. Busy, busy, busy. Yep. I know the feeling. I know that I must've gotten mixed with some other baby in the nursery at birth - I was MEANT to be disgustingly wealthy and be lying about on the French Riviera soaking up the rays right about now. I feel distinctly ripped off...
Well, should really go to lunch. I waited until late so I wouldn't have such a long afternoon. <sigh>
Have a good one, y'all...

DANG!
I was wondering where everyone was today and you've all been here. I used to get emails when someone post, not any more. I've been subscribes to this thread forever?
Lynn:hug: Great News!
Now I don't have time to gab and catch up, gonna go to my bone building class.
Later Gator!

Hi Everyone,

Hot and humid here. Going to lunch and walk on the canal with an old friend. Will be good to catch up.

Last night, DD & SIL made me a proposition about turning their B&B into a duplex & me coming to live on one side of the house. My only concern is being able to get along with my DD if we were together more than we are now. On the other hand, realize that as I get older, would be good if they were nearby. Hmmmm – decisions, decisions.

Will check back later,

Lynn

Hi Bobbi,
What does one do at a “bone building class?”

Bobbolink 06-04-2010 08:49 AM

Good Morning!
Lots of rain this morning, lightning at 4:44. I got up and unpluged my computer from the wall and never got back to sleep. We have GS graduation ceremony tonight, hope I don't fall asleep. I also hope the speaker is short winded.
I don't have anything exciting to talk about today, hope everyone has a good day with your food menu and exercising.
Rosey...how cute is that little moose baby! We don't get bears this far south but one has migrated down. I hope he/she stays away from my dog. I see you have a fence between you and the moose. Do you have your whole back yard fenced in to keep out the critters?
Lynn...the bone builders class is twice a week for 1 hour. We alternate standing and sitting exercises. I use 5 pound weight for arms and 3-4 pounds ankle weights for legs. It's the same program our senior center uses, suppose to keep us from losing strength in our old age. (also works on our balance)

Good Morning, All...
My brother and his wife came to town for a quick visit for Mom's 87th b'day, and we went out for MX food... and I'm suffering today! It's been a long time since I've eaten that (and I loved it!!). Today I will be gentle and hydrated! I'm not having a good time with the old age caca....

Lynn, that would be quite a change for you... lots of things to consider! How did your knee do on your travels, to seque a bit?

PT/Zoe, are you readjusting to work again? I agree that the world got confused! I, too, was supposed to be loved, adored, and rich... something went terribly, terribly wrong!

No news. Everything's status quo... no complaints!

Hi all....Things are bad when your horoscope tells you to stay indoors and quiet. I left home and was almost blindsided. The driver stopped and walked back to me and started apologizing! I was shaking and he kept saying how sorry he was. Shocked me even more by his niceness! I had made a small sandwich for lunch and immediately reversed all my good learned behavior and ate my lunch driving to bridge. Yup, we eat when happy, sad, mad or scared.....Told my partner the rest of the day had to be good cause I wasn't dead. And we won...beat everyone and came in 1st overall.....still dancing my happy dance.

How did it get to be Friday? Holiday Monday sure has me backwards. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend....karen3
