Yeah YoYo.....Find something to keep you dumb busy. Nothing even as heavy as reading a hot novel. I did jigsaw puzles.....You have to use your fingers to pick up and move the pieces and of course I couldn't smoke in the house and of course I had to finish the damn thing. Been clean for 8 years and still miss the opening the pack, shaking one out and lighting up, but don't miss the taste or the smell. The next step for you am sorry to say is a sore throat and possible sinus pain. All those wee hairs you have kept burnt off will be growing back! Hang in there, lov....post alot...we've all been there and you can do it....Karen3
You guys are just the greatest! Found a forum similar to 3FC for quitting so I've been posting my little fingers to the bone over there and being a general pest - kind of like I used to do here when I first started my weight loss journey Managed to make it through the day without eating everything in sight - actually haven't eaten quite enough but I still have a function to attend with DH tonight so planning to latch on to a bottle of water and some veggies. Sorry this has been such a me, me, me day - the other quitters are telling me day three is the toughest to get through. Withdrawals don't really get better for something like 3 weeks but they get less horrid to deal with. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to be a little more my old self
Good Morning all, This was Football weekend. DS was coach and DGS played flag tag. You would have thought it was big league, with all the excitement! Saturday we were there from 1:30 untill 5 and had rain with snow the whole time. Sunday they started at 8 oclock and the snow and rain had stopped and it was just bitter cold. it was a play untill you lose day and we finally lost a game at 1:30. We had a tent set up and cooked out after. By the time we left it was snowing so hard you could hardly see the road.
YoYo, My mom chain smoked for 40 years. She quit after a hospital stay where she had to use oxygen. She said she couldn't live like that and quit and never looked back. Now she is one of those reformed smokers who complain about what a mess it makes and how bad it smells! I hope you turn into one of those too, soon!! Hang in there girl!! It's worth all the effort it takes to quit!!
Bobbi, I haven't ordered the PPB yet but found the site and i am going to order it. I eat a LOT of peanut butter and this will definateally help me. let me know how the chocolate is. peanut butter and chocolate? Some things just are ment to be together! ha
Always seems to get a little quiet around 3FC at this time of year -- everybody's gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I guess.
I had a terrifically busy day yesterday -- took my friend to an early morning appointment at the hospital and then when I finally got home in the mid afternoon, I discovered that this silly company I used to work for wanted me to do some stuff for them. Don't need this work assignment at this time of year . . . wonder if they will ever really clue into the fact that I retired over 7 years ago.
Wow, what a difference a day or two makes -- high temperature Sunday, 70F; yesterday, 41F; today we will be lucky to make it much above freezing and the precipitation that is expected will probably be white and lingering.
Good morning, or I should say good afternoon as it's 12 noon as I write. I had a good choir practice last night so things seem to be on track for our Christmas concert albeit a bit late.
We have a crisp fall day with a hint of snow in the air but not yet falling. It could be rain as well as snow though. This is the kind of day I'd like to get out and walk in but alas it is not to be.
I went through my closet again today and cleaned out everything that was too big (except for the dress I wore to my DS's wedding). I have 2 skirts, a jacket and 2 blouses yet to fit into and not much else left to wear that fits. I have no blouses and no dress pants. I have 2 dresses (one of which is a summer dress), a skirt, a skirt suit, 2 pair of casual pants and a pair of jeans. Fortunately, I have several sweaters and t-shirts to stretch out the wardrobe. I live in my exercise clothes most of the day and it feels dressy just to put on jeans and a sweater. DH asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I responded without hesitation "Clothes." I don't need much as I'm not working but I think a blouse or two and at least one good pair of pants would get me through most social events that I attend. I don't want to build up a big wardrobe of clothes in the size I'm at anyway. I still have more weight to lose. I tried on a couple of summer dresses that I wore this summer and they were hanging off me. It's hard to believe I'm 20 pounds lighter than I was this summer. I thought I was so thin then, relatively speaking but now I'm so much smaller. DH, told me I was all bones. Wish my stomach would disappear. (Or better yet, shift around to my bum which is almost non-existent.)
Yoyo, you're doing so well with quitting the ciggies. You will be an inspiration to others going though this in the future and even now.
Freda, I don't know if I could sit though a game in that kind of weather. You are a super grandma for sure.
Have a great on plan day people and keep up the good work and drop off the bad stuff.
Still here, still not smoking (pant, pant, pant) nearly bit poor DH's head off last night though. Got kind of panicky at the function we were at - just too crowded a room too soon I think - I'm usually much more poised than that - made him take me home early. Had to apologize profusely this morning (he liked that part )
Thanks for relating the story about your Mom Freda - I need to hear things like that to help me remember that, hard as it is, I'm getting this done BEFORE I end up in the hospital and hauling around an oxygen tank for the rest of my (probably abbreviated) life.
Oohh, Isabella, I'm thinking a major shopping trip is in store for you; you lucky girl you. Getting rid of too big stuff is such fun isn't it? Then filling that empty closet with stuff that fits is even more fun
Well, despite my distracted airheadedness over the last few days, I still managed to convince some foolish person that I'm a good manager Got a new job all lined up just got off the phone from accepting their offer. Working out perfectly too - I won't be starting until after the first of the year so I'll finish things up here, collect my severance package, have a week or so of vacation over the holidays, and start all fresh after the first of the year. I attribute being able to make the whole thing happen so easily to my healthier way of eating and attitude - and the support of you lovely ladies. Quite honestly, a year ago I'd have just sunk into a depression and moped through interviews (if I was bold enough to even schedule them) with no confidence at all. So please accept a big thank you and from me.
Have a perfect day!!

Hello to everyone! Just thought that I would pop in and say It seems like people are starting to get busy with the Holidays and things here are slowing down. I've still been having a hard time getting on track since I got back from MO. and now it seemes the Holidays are just around the corner! Hope I can get back on track soon! Take care and I'll try to catch up....
Hello Once more tonight! Here are a few pictures that I wanted to share. The first one in my sister, my Dad and myself. The others are just some really neat signs! I have family living in Carterville and this sign was just too great to pass up!
Morning....Just had to say Thanks for the artic cold front! Went from a/c to 34 degrees out this morning. Turned on the gas logs and am toasty. Actually the fire will heat us up so much in 1/2hr have to turn back off. The people who built this house in the 70's started with block then zeebrick and hated that and put real brick up so it is really insulated.
YoYo...hang in there girl. The first 2 weeks are hard. Plan a treat for your self after one week clean. Nails done? New lipstick? Something???? Wonderful news about new job and perfect timing. That kinda of timing never happened for me....enjoy it! Keep busy and change your regular routine....have tea instead of coffee first thing in the morning if coffee'ncigie was normal. Do not put a pencil between your fingers that's orgasmic!
Hi, Karen31....Dh's best bud is building a house out there below you near Trinada. He plans on moving from the Eastern Shore of Md there in Jan. He has never been in Colorado in the winter. The house is about finished and that flat lander is in for a big surprise. Your signs remind me of driving out towards the Bad Lands and the Wall Drug signs you see for days.
Darn computer jumped and posted.....back later karen3
Good Morning Girls! I've been busy selling stuff on ebay and getting good response. It made me think about something 3FF should start. How about offering our good, gently used clothes on a special section to share with our 3ff friends? What do you all think? Freda...I love the PB2 Chocolate peanut butter. I haven't tried putting it in pudding yet but it's excellent on a Flatout. I smear 2 Tablespoons of it on a Flatout, sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar and rolled it up around some lettuce (for some crunch and a filler). I've also toasted the Flatout in the oven/fry pan and spread the chocolate peanut butter, topped with ff cool whip for a yummy dessert. The chocolate has the same calories as the plain PB. 53 calories per 2 Tablespoon.

Good luck to you YoYo, this great news should make your Thanksgiving even more thankful. Karen3...I don't feel at all sorry for you. At least your weather warms up, have you always lived in there? Isabella...What do you do with all your clothes that are too big? I've been having fun cleaning out my closets too! Meowee... Yes, we are all happily busy. I love this time of year!

We went to our 10 year olds hockey game on Sunday afternoon, he's the goalie and fun to watch but I hate the cold! Brrrrrrrr...I usually take a blanket to sit/wrap around me as the bleachers are like sitting on ice cubes. Our other grandson (16) plays basketball on the A squad and I personally enjoy the game much better. It's warm and I can understand basketball better. I've never been to a hockey game in my life before Lukas started playing. I posted a recipe I found on another site for Mac and Cheese. It's Martha Steward's recipe but modified to fit our new lifestyle. Check it out, it has squash in it to make it more calories friendly. Hi to anyone I missed!

Of course you realize Karen3 that the first thing I had to do was pick up a pencil just to see I do have a treat planned for Thanksgiving weekend - I'm going to get a new haircut. Not really short but maybe some long layers and bangs. Maybe nails too. I deserve it
Putting myself back in my "losing" mode though. I haven't gone totally off the deep end with eating (except for last Sunday ) but I've let some extra calories sneak in here and there. I'm thinking refocusing on logging my food and getting back to a real daily plan will help me feel more in control again.
I like your idea of the "gently used" clothes shop at 3FC Bobbi but I think someone suggested that before and it sort of got shot down. There are forum rules against selling things and I think they are a little worried about it getting out of control if they allow members to offer things even for free or trade with no money changing hands. You know there is always some creepy person who ruins things for the people with good intentions.
Just a quick little HI . . . having a really busy day.
Wowee, KAREN . . . Florida is having the same weather as we are. It's cold and windy and pouring rain but still no snow yet.
Would be nice BOBBI, but forum rules preclude having a clothing exchange. In the past things like that have just never worked out -- it only takes one exchange to go wrong and this is such a big site that you can just bet on something going wrong pretty quickly. Best bet would be to PM any members you thinhk might be interested.
