Getting a photo for your Avatar
Quote:
OK, let me try - first, you must have a photo of you saved on your computer in a file that you can get to. Then, get into 3FC & click on the words "User CP" in the lavender bar near the top of the page. Next, click on Edit Avatar. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the circle next to "Use Custom Avatar." Go to "Option 2" (Upload Image From Your Computer ), and click on the "Browse" button. When you get the list of your files, find the file where you stored your photo & click on that. Once that file name is in the window, click on the "Save Changes" at the bottom of the screen. NOTE: if you get a message that your photo is too big, let us know & I'll reprint the info on downsizing your photo. Lynn |

Good instructions for adding a picture as an Avatar, LYNN . . . but as I read FREDA's post, I thought she meant to add a picture to her signature -- i.e., beside the weight ticker. You can do that in the Edit Signature area of the User Control Panel. there's an area to do that below the box where the ticker code resides.

Well, Happy Easter, everyone. Just got back from my parents' where my sister and her two sons joined us. No one killed anybody, so I guess it was a good day!
Tired of azaleas?! Perish the thought! We only have them here for less than a month and it breaks my heart when the blooms fall off and they turn green again! My house is surrounded by azaleas and they are the best part of the spring, IMO. Dyed chicks!? I didn't think that was legal anymore. One year, when the four of us were small, my mom sent my dad out to get Easter chicks for us. She said we need four, two will probably die. Well, dad thought she said two would die so make sure we have four, so he bought six! And they all lived. After a couple months of walking them on the lawn (we lived in a twin home with only a small back yard and lawn) and watching them grow to a foot high, my mom finally decided they had to go, so she gave them to my dad's sister, who lived on a farm in Jersey. Flash forward to Thanksgiving: Aunt Lil arrives for dinner with a frozen package which she hands to my mother. "Here, these are your chicks, they were all roosters so I couldn't keep them -- I cleaned them good for ya. They'll make good soup." My mother lost all color in her face. She thanked her, put them in the frig, and as soon as my aunt left, she threw them out, and we heard her crying after we went to bed. "Those chicks were my pets, I fed them and walked them, they were like my kids! How could she DO that?" Dad just sat and patted on her the head saying "There, there, now, you have to understand, she's farm people, animals are not pets to them." When we realized what had happned to the chicks and that they were not running free on the farm with all their chicken friends, we all started crying in our beds, and dad had to come up and comfort us, too. It was sure a Thanksgiving to remember! Anyway, dyed chicks are illegal in PA, isn't it that way all over? Am maintaining my weight so far, no loss though again for two weeks. I guess the third week is going to be the charm for me, that's how it's been going so far. Every three weeks I lose 3-5 pounds. Didn't count points today, was useless. Had ham for the first time since started WW, and kinda avoiding pork, but made sure mom had plently of green veggies. As for posting photos, I joined Photobucket (it's free), and that's how I post all my pics and avatars. You copy your pics into their site, and they give you three sizes to choose from, you just copy the link you need and copy it wherever you want. TTFN. Patti |

Oooops - I guess I still can't keep straight the difference between the Avatar and the signature and the profile. |
Hi Annie, welcome! Sounds like you are doing great..10# to go?..now that sounds really good to me! I didn't do well today ...big dinner with family...didn't eat much dessert stuff but did still get too many caloires. Hitting the road tomorrow again and heading for home...we will spend one night some place then a short trip home the following day. We have learned not to try and push it all the way home...get home too tired to park the RV properly! ;)

Good Morning Golden Girls, I hope eveyone had a Blessed Easter. We had a quite day Sunday, since we had our dinner Saturday. After church we just did nothing! I did get a call from an old friend. Always a joy. For once I wasn't afraid to get on the scale "the day after" because i had eaten the way I should. So.....this is the way you're supposed to eat, huh?
Ok, Lynn and Linda, now you have me totally confused with all those words. I just want to post a picture on the right of the posts, under my signature. I have no idea what you call it. Hi Annie, Glad you found us. And yes, it is harder to lose when you're older, but it can be done. We're here to encourage and celebrate with you. Patti, I lost weight like you. I never knew when it was going to come off, and it didn't happen every week like it was supposed to. Mary, Have a good safe trip home. Looking forward to chatting with you more. Lyn, I've been meaning to tell you how much I like your new picture. I love Liliacs! I have a bush in back and when it's in bloom I have my house full. Now, how many more days?? Karen, It's a miracle!!! You cured the flu!! Aren't all husbands like that? What is with them and Dr.'s? I've never looked at fitday, I may have to give it a try. Sparkspeople with do the same thing with my diet, as far as evaluating it. I count calories most of the time. Actually, I don't even do that any more. I've been on a diet my whole life. I know how much I should eat, I just don't always do it. And I love vegetables so getting in my 6 servings a day isn't a problem. Did you watch "I can make you thin" again last night? what do you think of the new idea's he brought out? Everyone have a good day. Be as kind to yourself as you are to other people. Freda |
Good Morning . . .
Two out of three good weather factors for today -- it's absolutely beautifully sunny and the wind is almost calm -- now, if it would just warm up a little. No leftovers to face around here but I did manage to overindulge yesterday in (of all things) Kashi Go Lean cereal after dinner. My story (and I'm sticking to it ) is that I needed the starch to soak up the excess salt from the ham. Sounds good if I say it quick enough and often enough. Must go out and get a few groceries and other stuff today so hopefully I won't bump into any half-price bunnies that I can't resist. Have a great day . . . see you all later . . . try to keep things moving and shaking in the great downward direction today, gang . . . :carrot: |
Morning all. I slept in a bit (till 5:30) since I don't have school this week.
Woke up to a boat load of work from clients (one site I'm working on is a bakery of all things...I get to look at tons of cake pictures!) Had a wonderful day yesterday with my boys. The only thing missing was my daughter. (I talked to her for a while though...she and bf spent the day at the beach) We ended up doing steaks on the grill instead of a roast and had broccoli and a big "everything but the kitchen sink" salad. I made a chocolate cake for them. My oldest son decided to fiddle around with my camera and discovered some things I never knew about, so he and I played around taking a bunch of pictures and he was sweet and cut back some big dead limbs for me from a few plants. It was a pretty laid back day. My youngest son (20) got his 3rd degree black belt in aiki jutsu on Saturday. I was a nervous wreck. He last attempted this test 2 years ago and ended up going through 2 knee surgurys when he came down the wrong way. He has been taking it since he was in 7th grade and started teaching it his senior year in high school and is now a senior in collage. It was a big deal and he passed with flying colors (although he had to stop and throw up at one point) He had fasted on Good Friday and didn't eat before the test...poor baby. I need to get hopping so no time for personals. Hope you all have a great Monday! (I've attached a picture I took yesterday for my daughter. It's a day late, but the blue duck is just cute!) |
Wow CAT . . . those boys are almost as good looking as their Mother. BTW . . . when they dye little chickies like that, does the colour eventually wear out or will that duck be blue forever? I believe it's illegal to do that here -- at least I've never seen it done.
|
Meowee...yep, it wears off..when their "big duck" feathers come out. (it's already wearing off of his little blue feet) I think it is illegal in most states to do that, but not in Texas where she got them from. Apparently, they inject food grade dye into the eggs right before they hatch. Sounds horrible.

Good mornin y'all....Weigh in day and lost a pound. Better than a gain but disappointed. See this coming week if revamping diet helps.
Freda....I'm tapping away! The Brit doc does rattle on. This week he suggested that if you tap accupunture sites and roll your eyes that this reduces stress and takes away the drive to eat from boredom/anxiety/stress. Lets see 10 taps cheekbone,10 collarbone,10 chin,10 edge of hand,10 back of hand, look down to right(still tapping),look down left(tapping), roll eyes in circle left and right(tapping), back to cheek10, humming and repeat.......Sounds silly but found that just tapping a bit does break the hurry stuff my face pattern. Know I am gonna be watching to see if anyone else is out there tapping(like at stop lights) Fitday told me yesterday I needed to lose .9lb a week to make my goal. So I did make this weeks goal. But I want more. Gotta run....take care of yourself, eat heathy and hugs...karen3 ps:the eye rolling makes me seasick and who eats then! |
Hmmm - human beings are SOOOO bizarre. OK to raise/slaughter animals in the most horrendous ways, but against the law to dye them blue!
Cat, I think your little critters are adorable. Thanks for sharing. Lynn |
Oh, my, Cat! Your boys are gorgeous! Oh, to be 35 years younger and 100 pounds thinner! (Oh, yeah, and single.)
