Here I am again. It's still raining but I had a bunch of fun spending money.
Todays answers -- I think. . .
3. "Get your kicks, On Route 66"
I'm pretty sure about this one.
4. "The story you are about to see is true. The names have
been changed to protect the innocent ?
Note so sure about this one.
Later . . .

Back again . . .
Here's a couple of FFFF for today . . . both related to that good old friend of the diet conscious . . . poultry . . .
Did you know that removing the skin from chicken reduces the fat content (and it's the bad old saturated kind) by a whopping 50%. WOW.
The expression " to get a lucky break" originated nearly 2,500 years ago from the familiar custom of two people each making a wish while tugging on the clavicle of a foul. Even today, getting the bigger half of "the wishbone" is supposed to make your wish come true.
Toodles . . .

Hi all,
Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm going over to my sister's tonight to have fresh beets, zucchini, new potatoes....yum. I love when all the new veggies start to come.
Donna - My dad is doing quite a bit better with his back. I think what happened is he could hardly walk across the room for two years because of his heart valve, then when he got a new one he couldn't belive how good he felt - I think he overdid it. Thanks for asking.
Hy - I'm glad your mom didn't have the same wait. We actually thought about taking him in an ambulance for that very reason. I hope she can recover without too much pain.
Hi Cheryl - Still working hard?
Hi Meowee - I'll send you some of our 37oC weather - yuk! I guess we're never happy.
Hi Ready2
Hi Sharon.
Have a great day!

Hi Everybody . . .
This has been another rainy, hot, humid day . . . I can feel my ankles swelling as I sit here. It has also been one of those magically disappearing days. Don't know what I've accomplished by it certainly has taken a lot of time. The oldeer I get, the faster time moves.
Hopefully I'll have more chatting time tomorrow . . . hope you each have a great evening . . . see you all later . . .

Hi gang . . .
Another hot, humid, rainy day scheduled for my little part of Atlantic Canada today . . . Ugh . . . Oh well, Nothing exciting in my plans anyway. Have to do a little shopping and, if I trip over it in my normal travels, I'll pick up the new Harry Potter book. If not, I'll wait and order it from Amazon. I do want to read it, but I'm not going to go too berserk if it doesn't happen immediately.
In the meantime . . . here's another little FFFF for your reading delight (or eating delight).
Airline food doesn't deserve the bad rap it's always getting. Taste buds are dulled by high altitude and cabin pressure. As the plane goes up, our sense of taste goes down.
Have a fun day everybody . . . see you later . . .

Hello there . . .
Just for a change (oh yeah) it's raining again. This is becoming tiresome. Hopefully the forecast for tomorrow which is calling for sunshine will prove to be correct.
Other than that, nothing going on around here. See you all later, gang . . . have a great day . . .

Donna I just started using eggplant about 3 weeks ago - it was called for in a vegetable mixture and I had to ask around about how to use!! The recipe was for ratatouille and it was really good. I wasn't sure if I needed to peel the eggplant, so I did, but I made another 'batch' this past week and didn't peel that eggplant and it was just fine.
Just a vegetable I was never around and never learned how to cook! A friend told me she also uses the chinese eggplants, which are much smaller.

Hi Ladies...Just a very quick fly-by...Still very busy painting, packing and cleaning. It was so HOT and HUMID today, that we could not paint outside. Just have the back of the house and some touch up to do, trim to paint and we will be done with the house and garage. Today I painted the computer room, and DH will have to do the high places I can't reach when he get's home tonight and it will be done. Just have my sewing room, upstairs hallway and bathroom and our master bedroom left to paint. Should be done by Thursday, I hope. Will work on painting the out buildings when my hubby starts his vacation on Friday.
Hope all of you are doing well. Will try to post later on this week. Hug's to you all!
Cheryl

Good Morning . . .
We are having an absolutely beautiful sunny, DRY, morning. So nice to see that glowing ball up in the sky. Been so long, I hardly realized what it was. However, some days it's tough to keep your chins up in spite of the weather . . . The couch fell pray to the pee- again overnight . . . just when I was thinking that the "shoo" from Sergeant's was working. That'll teach me to get my hopes up.
Hi there HY . . . you almost make me want to try eggplant again . . . just almost.
Hi there CHERYL . . . you make me sweat just thinking about all your activities when it's so humid.
Hi there READY . . . a snug 16 would make me happy.
Here's a little tidbit (can't really describe it as a FFFF) I came across that I thought everybody would enjoy . . .
In a 25 year study of 13,000 people, those that did moderate exercise on a regular basis throughout the 25 year period had a premature death rate fully 50% lower than those were were mainly sedentary.
Now, if that doesn't get us all moving and shaking, don't know what will. Hope everybody has a great day . . . See you soon . . .

MEOWEE: I'm so glad that you are finally getting some We are going to be in the upper 90's to low 100's all this week. Won't get much exercise outside. Did you get your new Harry Potter book. I've not read any of them but my oldest grandson has all of them. Maybe he will loan them to me. This humid weather really does make ones body swell, my hands really hurt. Sorry that your stuff to keep your kitties from being naughty isn't working. I bought some granular stuff to keep them out of my flower beds and it didn't work either. Your answers to the quiz are RIGHT, congratulations. I will do the next 2 questions tomorrow.
CHERYL: Busy, busy. You keep saying " just have" it makes my arms ache just thinking about all of the painting you are doing. Hope the new place won't need painted Try to have some fun too while your DH is on vacation.
READY2: I know what you mean about not getting as enthused about your weight loss. I do think age has a lot to do with it. We don't really care if we impress anyone with a size 8 again or if ever. BUT you are right we have our health to consider. I sure hope you will keep following WW ideas or find one that will help you out. You might take a look at the Change One plan, you can find it online and in your library. I follow it probably as closely as any diet out there, mainly because you don't really have to count anything or measure, you just use portions and once you know what they are it is easy. Keep your mind set that you must work on it and keep reading all the articles you find, that works for me, I have to keep reminding myself all the time that I have to watch what I eat and I have to exercise. GOOD LUCK
HY and SETTIE: Hope both of you are having a good day.
To all the gals over at Golden Girls thanks for stopping by to visit once in awhile.
Had a good weekend, kept my weight the same this week. Didn't get in as much exercise as I would have liked to. I am really enjoying all the fresh garden veggies. Looking forward to some tomatoes, they are a little slow around here this year. I did go for a 2 mile walk yesterday morning, it was nice and cool and a little breeze, felt good. Hope all of you have a grreat day and keep trying. I'm going to try and paste a cute e-mail I got from my aunt. Know most of you aren't 60 yet but you will know what to expect.

Hi Donna; Hi Ready; Hi everybody else . . .
We've got a very hot and very humid day on the go here . . . but it is at least. My morning has been very busy. Took Jazz in for bloodwork (he's my diabetic cat); then did a bunch of shopping; and now I'm taking a quick after lunch break to say HI to everybody before I go back to pick Jazz up again. He's doing very well, BTW. Finally his blood sugar is in the good range and he's back up to his fighting weight (almost) at 8.8 pounds. So we get to maintain at 5 units of insulin, twice a day now. Yippee.
Anyway, better get myself moving again . . . see you later gang . . .
