Karen- My scale was up a 1/2 pound this morning. I'm going to have to work at getting it back down. That will be hard to do since it's the weekend. I do terrible on the weekend.

Sharon- It sure isn't easy being on a diet and being in Red Hats. There's always food around. We are going out to eat on Wed.

I finally found the 50's quiz you all have been talking about....I only missed 2!
That was really cute.

We are eating the last of the Easter ham today and the spaghetti I made while the kids where here and that is the last of it.....tomorrow back to fitday and much less calories.

What, if any, diets is anyone here trying....are you getting good results? I am doing calorie counting, walking dvd and a little swimming, I can average about 1 lb./wk and still get a cocktail or two in and a dinner out.

Have a great week-end everyone! Phyllis

I have 1 more bowl of bean & ham soup left and a little chunk of ham to cut up in my hubby's scrambled eggs tomorrow. Then no more ham for a while.

I have been getting the exercise and walking in and the scale is still down so that's a good thing.

I'm doing the You on a Diet and trying to stick to Whole Foods. I've lost 9 pounds since January. I've had a birthday and Easter to struggle though too so I don't feel too bad.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Lynn & I'm a friend of Phyllis's. I'm a perpetual dieter - but, unfortunately, NOT a perpetual loser. Right now, I'm trying to do Jenny Craig, but I think it's not going to work for me - too many carbs - I just found out I have type 2 diabetes.

I was doing pretty good with losing weight, but then hit Easter, my birthday, and a three-night stay at the beach. I don't even want to get back on the scale until I have a few days of eating right.

Hello everyone and Welcome Lynn!!! I just thought that I would pop in and see what everyone was doing this weekend.

Paula there was a little lady here last Summer in the grocery store with the Red hat!! I had never heard of it but gosh she was so cute!! I think she was in her 80's and just so excited that they were having an outing of some kind!! Just too cute!!

Hi Phyllis, I am doing the Walk Away The Pounds videos and I love them. They say that walking is so good for you. This past week was kinf of blah about the walking but I usually do the 3 mile super fat burn one twice so I get 6 miles in.. Got to be more strict with myself this week!! I know this may sound crazy--- but I am kind of doing a combination of Weight watcher points, calorie counting and Slim fast!! So far it has seemed to work the best for me. I started this on the first of January and so far I've lost 23 pounds so I can't complain!!

Well, Hello to everyone else--- I imagine with the weekends our cahts may slow down a bit but I will check to see if we have any news later this evening. . Have a good one!!! Karen

Hi, I will have to find out what the YOU diet is Paula...9 lbs. is great.

We will be retired 1 yr. this month and traveling as much as we can and living in the state of Florida gives us many places for short trips and all our grandchildren live up in KY, MI and Ohio and my sister and family in Seattle and Oregon so that is our long trips. It is really hard to diet and travel while staying at others homes and motels!!! If there is a secret let me know!!!

Glad you are joining us Lynn but sorry that JC is not going to work for you, that would just be too easy wouldn't it. At least I haven't found an easy way.

Karen, you seem to have found your correct formula to lose. I am going to incorporate some of the Scarsdale diet with calorie counting, very low on carbs but lots of veggies and fruit.

Yes, Bobbi I think I do follow you around don't I, lol. Nice to see a familiar face and I am loving getting to know the other women, seems to be a great group.

Going to walk today (dvd) and drink my water, Phyllis

Hello everyone!
I sure hope everyone is having a good weekend. We finally have some sunshine here today!! But of course with that comes the wind! I guess we are never really happy with the weather huh!!

OK--- I did my 200 crunches on the ab lounge, and my 6 miles walking this morning! But then I was goofing around and I found my old "Shoop Shoop Hoola Hoop" !! Talk about going way back!! Anyway, I decided to see if I could still do it--- YEA!! I can. I didn't do it very long only about 5 minutes but I think I may try to add that in just for something different and fun!! I'm just glad the grandkids weren't here to laugh at me!!!

Well, guess I'd better get back to getting some housewrok finished up here. Planning on having some grilled chicken breast for dinner with a salad. Everybody have a good day and I'll check back with you later. Karen

Hi everyone - I hope you are all having a great Sunday.

Paula -- excellent 9 pounds on the YOU plan. It really is great common sense I just have one problem and that is just eating the small portion of nuts --- I LOVE nuts!!! LOL

Lynn -- I did JC three years ago -- it worked I lost 40 pounds and within a few months of eating "normal" food I found 35 of them -- no problem. So last year I decided to just eat less (calorie counting) move more and drink my water and I lost the 35 pounds -- best part is I have kept them off. Now I am looking forward to losing the next 30 -- slowly and surely.

Karen -- wow 23 pounds since the beginning of the year -- you are extremely dedicated I need to absorb some of your energy.

Phyllis -- I am jealous about all the travel you are going to get to do but I sure understand about the restrictions during travel. We are going to the Oregon coast in June and I am already trying to work out a plan now LOL. When we were in NY last spring I discovered the joys of the fresh food markets right in the middle of Mahatten -- it was like a huge salad, soup, sandwich bar all rolled into one and as long as I avoided the white stuff (pasta salad, potato salad and dressing) I did pretty good.

Just going to go rustle up some lunch then go out and putter in the back patio (its tiny not too much space to putter LOL). I am looking forward to doggie sitting for the next two weeks. Having her here will break me of my coming home and vegging habit - I hope.

Suzanne............... What's happening with the merger? Are you still working on it? I'm not sure where you're going to post it either, let us know when it's set up.

Lynn. I can relate to the Birthday and Holiday getting in the way of the diet. Go ahead and step on the scale. You might be surprised.

Karen- There are red hatters everywhere. And we are not shy about telling you about our groups.
The sun is finally peeking out this afternoon. We had rain and snow overnight. Come on spring where are you

Joanne- I have a proble with all snacks unless I ration them out. I bought a box of snack size ziploc bags. I measure out the proper serving sizes and put them in the cupboard. When I want a snack I get a baggie and when they are gone I know I've had the correct amount. This had really helped me from over eating the nuts.
Have fun doggie sitting. Can you take her for a walk? A great way to get the walking in.

Phyllis- Where in Ohio are your grandchildren?

Joanne,

Where are you going on the Oregon Coast. We spent a week the first of Dec. on the Oregon Coast in Newport, OR.....the weather was in the high 50's and sunny....we really lucked out. We love it out there. My neice lives in Eugene.

We drove back on the coast highway to the Washington border and cut off at Astoria and drove back to my sister in Seattle.

Going back next year for sure. Ate tons of fresh fish there and only gained 2lbs. Loved Moe's clam chowder.

Good Morning Girls!
I didn't get an answer from Suzanne so I'm guessing the merger didn't take place. Let's all come up with names for our group, vote on it and go from there.
Someone already mentioned "Golden Oldies", any other ideas?
