gem Thanks for the response, that's a l-o-n-g time to go with little loss so congrats for persevering! I def need to have patience. I'm glad to hear how you handled it because I can talk to my coach tomorrow about it. It will be hard for me to give up my restricted though...

Amber That was not too much info, no such thing for me. When I set 150 as my goal I knew it was on the high end for me and it probably would not satisfy me if I was really able to lose on this plan. Most of my adult life I was in the 125 - 130 range but I don't think that's realistic for me now. I've been advised to just wait and see how I feel at 150.

The body dysmorphia is a problem with me. I have no idea if I am seeing what I really look like. Sounds kooky but it's real. I want to just live today and let tomorrow be another day but it takes practice for me to operate that way. I'm trying.

I think I just want to have a piece of fruit! I may try eliminating my restricted (ugh) and have 3 unrestricted for a week, see if I can confuse my body.

Mary, have you tried making up one of the peach/mango or pina colada drinks with some ice cubes and a small amount of water and making a sorbet?

One of the other treats my hubby loves (and is ok as an infrequent treat) is the juice of 6 lemons, added with some water, a couple of packets of splenda or stevia, blended and put in the fridge until it sets into a lemon ice. Take it out, stand the bag or cup in a bowl of hot water til the outer edges melt and re-blend into a sorbet style.

With summer coming these satisfy the urge for fruit and give you something cold that feels like a naughty!

Mary,
Let us know how your conversation goes with your coach.

I don't know if you follow the Summer 2014 starters thread, but you might find it helpful, as several of them have reached goal or are nearing goal, and you might find some other support and tips there if you haven't already read things there.
I just did a little post there that you might find interesting regarding body image etc. - http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/5159141-post284.html

Best wishes to everyone!

Amanda &Amber. Thanks so much for the tips, ya'all are the best. I have some IP orange drink I'm going to use for your sorbet idea. Yeah! Lost 2 lbs at W-in today and got a big increase in lean mass so I left hAppy. Coach said I need to be more consistent in eating patterns, and that the hunger may be because the protein can't satisfy hunger if not eaten every 3 to 4 hours. I told her I have subbed quest bars occasionally for my IP restricted and she said they could trigger cravings, maybe what I am experiencing are cravings and not hunger. I DO eat erratically which I need to correct though.

I'm going to check out the other thread Amber, thanks for that.

Mary Congrats on the WI loss! And you increased lean mass---bonus!!! Did she say why she thought the quest bar might be triggering cravings vs the IP restricted? I'm curious because I've been thinking about looking into alternatives to cut the cost down a bit.

Love the sorbet idea, might have to get some of the orange drink.

Mary,
That is wonderful that you had such satisfactory results after all of your hard work.
I think it is good practice to get into eating every 3 or 4 hours - in Maintenance after you go out of ketosis - what happened for me anyway - is the body goes back to its normal hunger signals, and I do need to eat a little something every 4 hours or so - sometimes just 100 calorie snack or so - but much longer than that and I don't feel good.
So I think getting into these practices now is good.

Amber you're so right, I get so busy that before I know it I've gone without my protein/food.
When I reintroduce carbs I'll be in trouble. That blood sugar dip tells my brain to eat eat eat. Probably what got me into this situation to begin with.

Gem She said the Quest bars are sweeter than the IP bars. The thing for me is the Quests seem to be lower in net carbs and have cleaner ingredients than the IPs. Not sure if I'm going to give them up since the w-in went okay.

I love this ideal Briael!! I never even thought of that. I'm still voiceless but I went to work today. We have a big event next week-end and I can't miss any work. Being the manager sucks. I've lost my appetite completely. It's kind of nice not to feel that constant hunger that I felt last week.

DH and some people at work have been telling me to stop dieting. Thye don't seem to understand that i still weigh 160lbs.

kdramalove Stay the course, you're so close! I thankfully haven't been sick while on the diet, misery on top of dieting I'm sure is no fun! But it sound like at least you aren't hungry. Make sure that you are eating all that you should though, with the diet as paired down as it is you'll need everything to fight this bug. Hope you feel better.

Mary I'm assuming that she thinks the extra sugar is triggering the hunger. I guess it's something to be aware of; maybe eat them less often if you see a pattern of hunger.

Looks like it might be a nice day here, I'm planning on taking a walk this afternoon. The scale was kind this am, now at my lowest in years (yay!). When I was stalled I didn't think it would happen, motivated now to loose the rest! Hope you all have a wonderful day

Amanda - thanks for the sorbet idea the proti-diet peach mango concentrate is fantastic and this sounds like a great treat!

kdl - sorry you are still voiceless hear you on not being able to miss too much work. Hope you get some rest this weekend and are able to get your voice back. Also, keep in mind some people get intimidated by such drastic change and want to try and keep the "old" kdl. You need to do whats best for you & you've done AMAZING

So Feb-peeps, we have gone past 500 posts and was thinking its time for a new thread?

Happy Saturday!! It's finally happened....I saw 158 on my scale today. Last time I was in the 150's was 18 years ago when DH and I were first dating. I feel so proud of myself. This morning I looked so slim but as we all know from being suffering from body dysmorphia. This feeling is momentary. I'll take it anyways. Where else could I talk about that but here.

Body dysmorphia......our society puts so much pressure of being thin. Being Korean I often feel that Korean culture is even worse. My whole life, my family calling me the "fat one". My brother and sister were like bean poles. even at my previous job where I worked with mostly Chinese staff I was called "pang4peng2you3" meaning fat friend. I wore a size 12 then. Now here I am wearing a size 6 loosely and still feeling and seeing myself heavy. A lifetime of brainwashing perhaps. I still look at size xl when shopping.

I started taking Biaxin and I'm finally feeling good. This week-end is the fight and there are many people in Vegas. Everyone wants their make-up done. It's a busy week-end for me.

kdCongratulations!!! That's terrific!! 6 loosely, I wasn't born a 6! lol- I'll be happy in 12, but would love to be a 10-I have never been a 10. Good luck with your busy day!
Mary I have been starting to crave fruit lately. Last night after we got home from shopping I decided to have a couple of sunsweet yellow tomatoes (they're about the size of a cherry tomato) I had them as part of my veggie (only about 8) I haven't had any since I started, I know they're on the restricted veggie list-anywho- they were amazing!! It helped to qwell (?) my need for fruit. Hopefully I'm good for a while...
WI today-2.8 lbs! AS happy as I am about that, 2/10th from finally hitting 30 lbs. Nonetheless, still a good thing!!!
I did ask about the vitamins, with the upcoming biopsy and needing to be off them for 5 days-my coach said that it's not a problem, it's only 5 days. I asked if I should eat more of something, certain veggies, meats and she said no, just keep going like I am. I had called the clinic a couple of days ago after sending an email, just to make certain they received it, and the woman that I spoke with also said I would be fine. She commented that people run out of the supplements all the time and wait a week to refill. She also said maybe I should stop the diet for the few days, I laughed and told her NOTHING comes between me and this diet!! (I confirmed with the NP at the doctor's office that I could remain on the diet sans the vitamins)
I also started using MFP again. I was a little freaked out, I follow this plan to the nth degree, my net carbs were exceeding the 40. When I talked to my coach this morning, (and I told her how surprised I was at the amount of IP items were on there) she suggested that maybe some of the things that were restricted and now aren't like the oatmeal might be old totals. Quick look see, not a lot of investigating yet, the maple oatmeal I had clicked was the old kind. So, I will actually scan bar codes this week and see how it looks this upcoming week.
That's my long winded story today. Hope you all have a great Saturday!!
