The past doesn't matter it is over and done. We just have to learn from it. The holidays are over and we can all get back to normal. Good idea. Get the junk out of the house, if it isn't there we can't eat it lol. It is time to jump back on the wagon seat and get back on the journey. Please post more often. It really does help to keep in touch and let everyone know how you are doing.

evil
lol I made some with and some without. I don't eat the stuff. One piece isn't enough 20 pieces isn't enough lol. lol oh ya blame the eggs, everyone else does hahaha. I have to get mine cut again. I hate to get my hair cut, they always cut it to short and then I can't do anything with it for a few weeks. Will call and see if the man that cuts my hair is going to be in. He is the only one that does it right.

Slash
I spend at least 1 whole day a week. Baking for the old dears.

Rex
I hope what I said didn't come out wrong. I worry when people don't eat enough. Nothing wrong with powders as long as they are combined with a good healthy diet. Sorry if it sounded different than I ment it.

Wow, I don't pop in one afternoon and an entire novella has been printed. This is so awesome...
Welcome Monique, As you can see there are some real go getters here that do not leave you hanging. We're here to help and get help.
We used to raise chickens. VERY free range chickens. Sometimes we'd find a nest with 18 eggs in it. lol Of course we didn't eat those, because the question was always did 10 or 12 chickens share a nest today or (more likely) did 1 chicken use the same nest for 9 days?!?!?! The kids really loved having them around, but one day an amish farmer, new to the area, offered so much apiece and away they went. You have to keep a close eye on my DH and FIL. If they can sell it, they will. lol My husband custom mixes feeds for a living so we buy our eggs from an amish farmer who gets his feed from us. They're huge beautiful brown eggs and I eat alot of them, but that's enough about eggs.....
Carla, Hang in there girl. Learn to cut yourself some slack. We're here for you.
Clyde, Glad to see ya. I'm with you. So, glad the Christmas food is gone. Refocus and that 6 pounds will be history.
I got rotten bananas mmm bread sounds good. Now I have another "to do" on my list for today lol
As for today...It's finally beautiful outside again. Getting to 32* today and alot of sunshine out there. I'm kicking yee ole TM to the curb. Walking with a friend today. That should be nice. DD is having a friend over tonight. They have a JH dance and this girls lives WAY rural. It's easier for her mom to pick her up here in the morning than run in at 9 o'clock tonight. Plus, the girls have the added fun of talking, for hours on end, about what they just did. Tomorrow's a day filled with basketball. 3 playing in 3 different cities at once. I'll be going back and forth between the boy's games, because they're playing only 9 miles apart while DH goes with DD 25 miles away!!! Let the games begin.
Have a great day Ladies!

Friday Woo Hoo

Good Morning,

I am on day 3 of SB!! The first two were a little rough. I am so glad I did not buy anything that I could cheat with!! I felt like a cat with static the first two days. Today is better. I have also had a ton of deadlines at work so the stress level was up a skoch which may not have helped my cause.

Last night I made a steak bowl of sorts using an approved meat. LOL. Chipotle chilies, lime, garlic, onion, rotelle chilies, cilantro and two top sirloin steaks cut into strips. I marinated for a while then stir fried and we did fresh tomatoes and black beans. It was good and filling. Three of us ate it and my husband had two large portions. I could do that a lot. I love anything spicy with cilantro in it.

I did a half hour of boxing on the wii again. I think I may see what the work out mode is on it. I was roasting after a half hour. I tried moving my feet more so that I was moving my whole body and my heart rate was up so I consider it a form of exercise. :smug:

Well I hope you all have a wonderful and successful Friday!

PS Welcome Monique. Hang in there Carla. You have already done so well. Two times a day at the gym? Energizer Bunny you. Banana Bread sounds sooo good. No bread for two weeks so I will be dreaming of banana bread now.

Slashnl 01-04-2008 11:36 AM

Clydegirl!!!! I'm so glad to see you again! Now, you keep posting here. I missed you!

Lolla: Yum! I'm coming to your house to get some of that approved meat! I love spicy!

Lovn: Oh yes, the running begins. My kids aren't back to school yet or any of their sports, so I'm still on coasting mode. But soon it will kick back in. I'll take the peace while I can!

Evil: I'm just getting my hair trimmed, but need to have it colored. I am getting so gray..... Wisdom beyond my years!

Rexs: What's new with you?

Rennie: That's nice of you to cook for the others! How cool!

Well, it is Friday! I've only worked 3 days, but I'm looking forward to the weekend! Need to get some order back in the house! Cleaning would be a bonus, too.

RexsCorks 01-04-2008 12:20 PM

Hey all,

Ok No more bannana bread talk! LOL That does sound sooooooooo good. I do have a weakness. I am very strong but the one thing that has really gotten to me was rice crispy treats with peanut butter in them. I made them for my son and his friend and ended up putting them in a bowl and sending them to his room. So sad the little things!

I am not giving up! I am slowly eating more. I did better yesterday and hopefully even better today.

I am up to 20 min on the stairmaster so I am getting stronger.

Everybody hang in there and thanks for the support.

Shy Moment 01-04-2008 05:03 PM

Rexs
Sometimes that is all we can do is get the stuff away from us we can't resist. For me it is cookies lol. Nice going on the stair master. Yes, you are getting stronger every day.

Slash
I feel like all I have done today is clean lol. I did my one mile video and then cleaned until just about 5 min ago. Soon as I am done posting I will go back to cleaning. Not home most of tomorrow so today is todays and tomorrows chores.

Lolla
The wii can be great exercise.

Lovn
Sounds like you have a busy day planned. I am cleaning. Getting todays work and tomorrows work done since we are taking the kids to see the grandparents.

Greetings!

Just checkin in to say hello.

Slash, gray hair? wow, what a SHOCKER! Hey Nothing a good box of color won't take care off. Sorry to say, but 1/4 of my hair is gray, I started dying it about 10 years already. I re-do it every 3 months, to keep me looking young and not like GRAMMA! There is nothing else that quite perks you up than a color job to your head in my opinion.

Healthy eating & exercise ....... check check for this chickster! 2 more weeks and it will be my 10 months maintaining this 25 pound weightloss, so I am pretty proud of that! I started this journey at 170 & I have been maintaining at 145 ever since, well sometimes a few pounds over, sometimes a few pounds under, but you know still MAINTAINING nonetheless.

Rex, Yeah peanutbutter rice crispy treats and karo syrup with a thick layer of chocolate frosting, yummy! I know shymoment, BLEH peanut butter, but 2 against one on the yum factor of these..

Lolla, wii rocks!

Hey clyde, nice to meet ya.

Lovin, albeit the banana bread smells nice in your house. Sorry rex, for mention banana bread again, my bad!

Wow

You girls sure can talk I haven;t been on for a few days and you are on page 41 already. Well I have been doing ok. No fast food for 5 days now. That is good for me. I had a huge greek salad for lunch with light italian dressing it was delicious. Not really in the mood to type a novel. I am going on day 6 at work. and Boy have we been busy. People need to start taking better care of them selves. I work in Cardiology at a large hospital in Dearborn MI.

Food for me has been pretty clean. I am going to try and get a workout in . I wish walking at work counted for a great workout. If It did I would be skinny as a rail. LOL Everyone keep up the good work.

evilwomaniamshe 01-04-2008 05:52 PM

Hey Karen, I think some people were born with the gift to gab, me included. way to go banning the fast food! Greek salad are my FAVE, love them a lot and eat them when we are out for dinner many times.

jmf1967 01-04-2008 08:12 PM

Hey Karen, I know what you mean, I work at a major hospital in Tulsa, and we are still full from the ice storm here. My husband works for the city so he has been on mandatory overtime too so we are both ready to slowdown. I know working all the time sure makes it hard to eat right, especially for him, I can at least make healthy choices at the hospital. The girls at work have however plotted out a 2 mile trail through the hospital that we are trying to walk 2 times a day also... I know it can be done... Its just so easy to grab a burger and sit for 30 minutes on my lunch!!. I'm gonna stick with it though!!!
I think you all are gonna be a great source of encouragement too, so THANKS!!!!!
Monique

jmf
Hope you and the hubby get a break soon.

Karen
Nice going don't eat that junk food. I love salads, have one a day. I do understand about wanting the walking we do each day to count. Make yourself do that workout, your body feel so good and so full of energy afterwords.

evil
That is wonderful. Nice going on maintaining the loss. I had my hair highlighted a few weeks ago. Thats about it for me. I don't to have to keep up with it. Nice I have blonde hair so the silver isn't so bad. Highlighting just blended it all in. Was pleasantly surprised, I never had anything done to my hair before. Made me feel good. Everyone here loves peanut butter. They can have all of it they want yuck lol. Strange that I loveeeee peanut butter cookies.

evilwomaniamshe 01-04-2008 11:29 PM

Ewe that is the only kind of cookie I don't like, peanut butter! Go figure...I I love peanut butter in ants on a log (celery with peanut butter & raisins) or a good ole peanut butter sandwich, of course being its caloric, I don't eat it often. I eat a lot of banana sandwiches, a banana sandwiched between 2 slices of wholewheat toast, yummy. I guess now that I am thinking of it, this outta be a better banana bread for all, try it I am sure you'll like it too! I'll eat a banana sandwich for breakfast sometimes plus have an all natural yogurt & 5 almonds, and wash it down with a few cups of earl gray tea and a sploosh of milk, for a good hearty filling breakfast.

Way to walk Monique, it does a body good!

Storygirl 01-05-2008 10:22 AM

Hey ladies, I would love to join this fabulous group of 40s! I am a 44 year old mom of two. My daughter is in her first year of college, my son is a freshman in high school. Currently they are out of state visiting their dad so it is pretty quiet here, at least for one more day! My current hubby also has an 11 year old son that visits us from out of state on holidays. Lots of stress with this blended family and teenagers adds to me EATING. I am terribly overweight at 199 pounds and I MUST get healthier. I am so tired of feeling like this. ARRRRG.

evilwomaniamshe 01-05-2008 12:55 PM

Welcome aboard storygirl! :welcome3:

So what kind of stories are you going to tell us?

If you believe you will achieve! :welcome2:

lovnmom 01-05-2008 05:18 PM

Welcome Storygirl, As you can see there's plenty of story telling going on. We can't waite to hear your's too.
A long day of basketball is finally over. DS's team had a rough day. He plays
6th grade and only 3 boys his age showed up. They played with 2- 5th graders and 2- 4th graders. Ds played really well though. He knew they were going to be short players going in so he just played his best and really didn't worry about winning or losing. He has a terrific attitude for someone so young. Hubby says DD did well too. Then they had a nice day shopping for new shoes and having chinese out. That does the kids wonders when they can get a day alone with one parent. My food has consisted of nachos and water. Not the healthiest, but not over cals either. I'm doing no exercise today. Tomorrow again will be soon enough.
Diane, Enjoy your last couple days of freedom.
Hi to everyone else!!!
