Howdy Ladies...no walking today I did 15 min strength training.
My total 60 + 15 = 75 min Group Total 1125 + 15 = 1140 |
10 min warmup, plus 30 min strength training. didn't do my lower-body exercises cuz i'm running late. Partly cuz I woke up late (AGAIN!!!!) and partly cuz I added either an extra 5 - 10 reps for each movement or a third set for the muscles I couldn't push beyond the original 2/10 I did on Tuesday. I will come back home in the evening and do a second round of abs plus the lower body work.

Dear Wonderful Wyllenn & fellow exercise buddies… I’ve been MIA on this thread for the last month, but I’ve located my bootstraps & I’m pulling up hard!
This month I’m setting a goal of exercising 30 separate times for a minimum of 5 minutes each. Since just STARTING to exercise is a real sticking point for me, especially lately, I’m just committing to STARTING 30 times. I never exercise for only 5 minutes, it’s just that those first 5 minutes are often what stand between me and a good workout. This way if I get behind they’re less intimidating to try to make up, I just have to exercise a second time some days, and whatever minutes I end up doing I’ll contribute to the list… and to my own health! I’m so sick of not making my goals, and then even when I’m doing relatively well, if something messes me up for a few days I feel like I’ve blown the whole month because I can’t make up enough to reach goal. I feel like the 30x is doable. I’m off to a slow re-start, but it IS after all a start (and a big improvement to sitting on my double-wide wagon ;)… fast walking with some jogging – 20 minutes tonight. 20 + 1180 = 1200 |

i got 120 minutes of walking with my son in his stroller up and down hills--two times today. it felt awesome to walk outside in this beautiful weather.

I got to the gym a bit late, so I only got in 10 minutes on the treadmill before my session with my trainer, which was 30 minutes. That brings my total to 205.
The group total is now 1360 + 40 = 1400 |
Wyllen - I haven't said it before, but I do like the idea of setting the goal of 100,000 minutes. I am going to aim for the END of August (sorry, that's not very optimistic of me is it?), so I'll say August 31st.
We haven't said what the prize will be for guessing the closest date that we reach the target, but I would be happy to send something "Aussie" to the winner. If I win, I could just buy MYSELF a present. Not really sure about that one, but seriously, I love to send Australian souvenirs overseas, so that might be something to consider. Getting to my exercise... I didn't post yesterday's (first week back at school has kept me busy and tired) so... I did 30 mins treadmill, 15 mins laps of oval, 20 mins home gym and 25 mins bike. 90 mins total Today I did 30 mins on treadmill and 20 mins laps of oval. Today is supposed to be my rest day, but I'm still not used to that yet. I really don't feel as though I need a WHOLE day resting, but I AM tired at the end of the day, so I have decided that if I am up to it, I will still do my treadmill workout in the morning, and I will do laps with the kids as well if I am feeling fine and we get around to doing them. But in the afternoon I'll have a break. That will still be an enormous treat for me because I can just relax and wind down from the working week. At the moment (4:15pm) a nap is sounding mighty nice, but I'm not sure if that'll eventuate. Heather, I won't be trying to guess when we are reaching that 10,000 mark...Not much of a betting woman, I'm not! LOL I didn't make it back to my workout last night. Instead I took an hour-long bubble bath with lavender oils and read "InStyle." I slept like a baby! :-) Did 45 minutes of cardio this morning. Tomorrow I've got my 60-min bike ride plus my dance class. Yippeeeee! Group Total... 1540 + 45 = 1585 Happy Friday everyone! :-) |

Well, I messed up the first few days of the month, but yesterday I did 60 mins of water aerobics, and today I did 30 mins on the NuStep and 30 minutes swimming laps.
So, for me a total of 120 minutes and 1695 + 120 = 1815 Sue |

Yesterday I did my Woman Power Workout, which is 70 minutes. I hadn't done it in a while and I can defeintley notice a difference. I can balance much better on one leg and I can get up on my toes a little bit (couldn't do that at all when I first started). That brings my total to 275.
The group total is now 1968 + 70 = 2038 |
count me in for a 60 min bike ride this am. I have my dance class in a couple of hours. I'll be back to tell y'all how it went.

Hi all, you're really working up a sweat around here! Exercise is one of the banes of my existence, but I'm going to join you with a modest goal of 520 minutes of exercise in May. I did a 20-minute walk yesterday, and my goal is to combine walking and biking to get a total of 30 min./day by the end of the month. So if I add myself in:

Haven't gotten to post much this week, but since my last post I did a 20 minute WATP DVD and walked my dog for 40 minutes, putting me at 80/600 for my personal goal.

Just finished a 30 minute upper body workout with weights while watching movies. What a novel concept....exercise while watching the boob tube instead of just sitting on my butt! :lol:

Well, another stellar dance class with LOTS of moving. This time we did "walking plies" and I hurt my knee a tad. So, I'm medicated and currently lying on the couch, icing my knee. I'm sure I'll be back on track tomorrow as it really only hurts a wee bit. And, I've figured out how to modify the move that hurt me so that I can do it without injury. OH, I so enjoyed myself in class today. Three of my friends whom I have not seen in a long time showed up to dance today. It made the class even more special.
So, I'm adding 90 minutes to today's total. And, that brings my aerobics total to 350 - just 10 minutes shy of my weekly goal. Group Total = 2238 + 90 = 2328 minutes. We are doing great! "-) |

Patti - You're math is correct! Although there are actually 31 days in May, so if you exercised every day for 50 minutes that would be 1550.
Well, I don't know what happened yesterday. I meant to do one of my tapes and then I just got caught up with things around the house. I did go to Target and walk around a lot and I also danced around while cleaning. So there it was, almost 2am when I was finally going to bed and as I lay down I realized I hadn't done any exercise for the day. Well, I couldn't go to sleep. I had to get up and do my 10 minutes walking in front of the TV. It felt on the verge of obsessive, but it also felt good that I am really sticking to this. I do think I need to lighten up a bit, but since I hadn't planned it I didn't want to do it then. So just 10 minutes for me, bringing my total to 285. The group total is now 2688 + 10 = 2698 |
oh i forgot about may having 31 days for me. so more minutes for me!!

It was a VERY active weekend for me!
Saturday: 125 minutes walking down by the lake. BEAUTIFUL! Sunday: 85 minute hike at a local park that has hiking trails. :) So 210 mins total 2698+210=2908 |
I've had a total of 100 minutes from the 1st until now. I'm horrid about posting on here, but I'll try to do better!
Today, I also managed to get in some more exercise. Calisthenics (jumping jacks, push ups*, sit ups*, and jump rope) - 15 minutes Walking - 20 minutes Stretching - 10 minutes So that's a total of 45 minutes. 2908+45=2953 minutes *I use the terms very loosely because, let's face it, there's just no "sitting up" when you have the huge belly hanging in the way. And push ups? Don't even get me started! I did, however, do my version of them so they count :D* |
25 min weight training for me -- and it's working -- I'm starting to be able to see some of these muscles I'm building!!! Woohoo!!

So it was a bad weekend for me exercise wise. Oh well - such is life. I got my 10 minutes in again last night before bed. Thank goodness it is back to the gym with me today. My total is now 295.
