Good Morning All!

Lynn- Great job not snacking, how did it go last night? Your doing awesome!

Ona- Hey girl! Always nice to see that smiling avatar!

Shannon- Thank you for sharing the pics. I'm sorry I don't have a favorite, I love them all!

Ags- Hope my explaination helps. If not I'll be right there! LOL!!! Until then get out there and have another wonderful day.

I was POP yesterday, wrote everything down as I have been since I started carb counting. Late yesterday afternoon until bedtime I got excessively thirsty. I have this 60 oz. bottle I keep water in, in the refrigerator so I always have ice water available. I usually drink 2 a day (120 oz.). Well for some reason I drank an extra 60 oz. of water last night. I thought for sure I'd be up every hour tinkling, but no! So of course when I got on the scale this morning I'm up 4 lbs. since yesterday. I know it's all water, but I'm still curious as to what caused the excessive thirst. Today I will continue my low carb quest, but I'm also gonna increase my potassium to help my body release this water.

O.K. everyone, it's gonna be a fantastic day filled with lots of activity and awesome food choices. RIGHT!!!

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pictures -- and at the risk of turning the thread into "Lily's Spring Break Pics", I'm going to post a couple of my faves from the zoo yesterday! :D

Again Lil took all the pics except the one she's in. What a nice zoo we have here in Columbus, OH. The polar bear thing was new last year, it is awesome!

positive thought: good things come to those who wait, but better things come to those who work for it! ;)

Positive action: Well ladies. I did have successful night again. No snacking and when I got up to go pee I didn't even go to the kitchen..... YAY ME!!!!

Hey all! As a newbie, it's hard to hop right into a (lengthy) thread, but I bucked up some courage :)

Last night I faced the first challenge of my week into changing my life. I go out with my friends every Wednesday and we always go to a bar, order food, etc. A complete no-no for me right now all the way around. Well, I made sure to cook a super yummy (and pretty low calorie, too!) dinner before I left and instead of knocking back a couple of drinks as I usually do, I limited myself to one glass of red wine. That's it.

It may not be big for people, but that's a really big deal for me!

I'm new here myself and shy, so I totally understand what you mean about getting up the nerve to just jump in!

Congrats on resisting the typical happy hour experience! I can take or leave alcohol, but when in social situations it seems rude not to join in. So far my approach has been to just plan my day around it and limit it to one drink. My bigger challenge is trying not to snack on the appetisers (rarely healthy!) just sitting there on the table in front of me. But I don't want to turn down hanging out with people I enjoy because I am afraid...

Your so right ilbnej, social situations are tough to get through sometimes. You can't hide at home until the weight comes off though, so I usually try to eat before I go out, drink lots of water and then maybe just sip on one drink most of the night. Remember true friends should support your efforts to get healthy and understand.
Welcome to the POSITIVE thread. Just jump right in and enjoy all the friends, support and motivation you'll get here on 3FC.
Look forward to getting to know you better.
