Sharon – Carrot and Apple juice sounds good today so I might give that one a whirl tomorrow…
Tina – Don’t worry about the blip we all do it… bad days happen to all of us…
Heather DW – I got to ask is there any reason why you want to weigh yourself every day… it’s doesn’t do any good to become so obsessed!
Annie – Well done on dropping the 5lbs that is excellent keep it up!
Kayley – I wish we would get some snow…
Ammi – The juice book arrived today, looks promising but I’ve think I’ve blown the budget for this month now! Lol
Anne – I really couldn’t weigh more than once a week, I went down than route before and every time it went up a 1lb I would eat! I have to stick to once a week Monday mornings when I wake up, I would drive myself insane if I did it more than that! Lol
Johnnie – Hope your okay not seen on here for a day or two…
Right confession time, I had a blow out… I ordered a take away from Pizza Hut for this evening. My taste buds where tingling when that hot pizza arrived teamed with the garlic bread. I ate some and I didn’t like it but I somehow forced it in well most of it followed by the garlic bread…. Urggggggggghhhhhhhh
Now I feel sick and bloated and have really bad indigestion after being perfect for three weeks I blipped, I more angry about waiting the money on the takeaway just think how much fruit I could have bought with £12 ($23)…
Okay so back on track right now but I just know the bloated feeling is going to keep me awake tonight! Yuk!
It's weigh-in day for me, and I've lost a total of 12lbs since I started on 12/28. I'd love to show that on my ticker, but the 3FC powers that be temporarily removed signature privileges from us newbies. I am groaning a bit about that because I get excited about changing those ticker numbers each week. I'll stop whining because I've lost a total of 12lbs. WooHoo!
Nancy - I wasn't thrilled with weight training either because I too loved my dance classes (when I used to actually go to classes in my other lifetime). What about strength training classes like cardio sculpt?
Ammi - I really do need to add to my exercise options. It's so nice to read your posts again - you are so nice to try and catch everybody.
Jeanne - it's great that you stay positive even when the scale doesn't move. Sometimes it makes me want to eat something I shouldn't, but I try to reframe that and use it as motivation to stay OP.
Julee - Welcome Back. It sounds like you needed something to motivate you to get back on track, but I bet you looked better than you think you did. We are always our worst critics.
Debbie - you are so encouraging - to me - to everybody! Yeah for 1lb losses - especially when TOM is around.
Sharon - without a doubt, submit the piece. A rejection doesn't mean the piece is bad. Don't be afraid to submit to more than one publication.
Heather_dw - Ask your husband to hide the scale until your designated weigh-in day! You are torturing yourself.
Carol - lurk mode or not, I love to see your smiling avatar when you write your daily check-ins just to say hi.
Alison - OK you inspired me - I'm going to the gym Monday too. Somebody, ask me on Monday if I went to the gym...Please.
Annie - thank you for sharing the news about Catherine. I was praying that Catherine would successfully carry this baby. She is in my prayers.
And Annie - Thank you so much for the compliment. I didn't realize that the avatar would automatically be inserted into all my old posts too. Those lbs are just falling off you. You go girl...I'm trying to keep up.
Heather - I'm glad your electrical crisis is over.
Tina - Losing health insurance is so scary. At least you didn't eat the whole bag of Reese's cups. I most definitely would have had trouble stopping at four. Why does it have to be food that I turn too?
Anne - I'm with you on drinking water. In fact I try to drink nothing else until I've had at least 64oz of water.
Julee, Welcome back! I didn't know you from when you were on here before, but it's always nice to see new people...at least new to me.
Nancy, I love your new haircut. It looks really nice on you. That's great news about the deal at the gym. I'd go for it too!
Heather, sorry to hear about the breaker box troubles. There's nothing worse than having a bad week and then things like that happen. Hopefully all is in working order now. Glad to hear your back on track.
Ratkity, doesn't it make life more manageable when all the clutter is gone? I love to do that. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something and helps me to stay OP too for some reason.
Heather dw, That smoothie sounds really good! YUM!! It sounds like you had a very nice birthday especially getting to go to Bath and Body Works, my fave place. Good deals!! Plus your scale, you made out like a bandit!
Just a little advice, which I'm sure you alreay know....but the water intake makes a BIIIIIIIIIIG difference! I usually drink about 3 to 4 liters a day.
Carol, I only exercised for a half hour. For some reason my brain just couldn't send the right messages to my feet for the DDR. It gets so frustrating some times. Now I'm paying for it with TOM, it's even worse. Ok, TMI! The back is fine though.
Man! You scored on being able to go to the gym for free!!!! That's wonderful. So are you going to be a representative? I think that is fantastic news. That's a great motivator right there but just don't let it put too much pressure on you to lose.
Sharon, yay on the 3 lbs gone forever!!
Annie on the -5lbs. You go girl!!
Ammi, you're doing amazing! Isn't it great to feel the power you have to stay away from junk foods? I just love feeling in control.
Anne, That's a great idea on the graph. I started one on Fitday too, but only did it weekly. I think I will go to daily and see how it goes. Thanks for the idea.
Julee, I used to work in Northridge at Litton. Small world huh? Stay dry. I can't believe the weather California is having. It's worse than up here in Washington. Stay safe.
Alison, we all go thru that. It's like a "live and learn" thingie we go thru. It probably won't be the first time or the last. You'll get rid of the bloat and the heartburn quickly.
Hi Lindy,
Kimmie, Hey! That's great news!!! I'm sorry they aren't letting you ticker work for now but hopefully it will be back on soon. I wonder why they did that? So keep it up cuz I know you can do it!!!!
Today we went to the store and got some healthy foods. It's great knowing I have these things to keep me on track. They cost a bit more than junk, but in the long run it's what's best for me. Jim got some shirts of his Dad's today and some of them don't fit too well, so he says now he will try to lose weight. Thank God!!! This is what it takes to help him get in the mood. Hopefully there won't be too much junk stuff around now that he will be trying too.
I got another puzzle too. These are really hard ones. 1000 pcs and you have to find different things in them once they are put together. Sorta fun and interesting. We were checking out Wii things today too, and we are going to get another DDR mat so we can have competitions against each other. I can't wait.
Well, better run. Gotta go start dinner
Debbie
Isn't it crazy what it takes to get some men to want to lose weight?! My dad, when he decides, just says "i think I will lose some weight now" and a week later he is skinny! Ugh!
I love the Wii. I play every day! It's so fun. I am going to buy the sports pack that has the tennis racket, basebal bat and golf club attachments!
Why I moved the boys… I boarded with Donna for most of the last 11 years, but moved the horses out almost 2 years ago because her boyfriend is a weasel-y scumball. He’s one of those little guys, inside and out, that has a mean streak, but he won’t let her see that side until it’s too late. When she’s within earshot, his voice doesn’t even sound the same, and you won’t hear his usual mean innuendos.
I went to Mike’s barn and LOVED it there. It was 5 miles closer to home, and they loved my boys. Sadly, he & his family decided to sell the place back in October, so I moved to the Ugly Barn. Of course, I didn’t know it was going to be horrible when I went there.
So I called Donna and explained why I left her place, and explained that I didn’t want ‘him’ handling my animals. I’m hoping that knowing I’ll tell Donna if he pulls any more crap will keep him at a distance. Besides, he works out of town a lot, and for some reason she doesn’t let him feed any more. I don’t think he’ll cause me any more grief.
I just can’t believe how much better I feel since the boys have moved. It’s been great to know that they’re eating well even when I’m not there, they’re getting outside & are happy. I’ve been spending time with old friends and loving the relaxed atmosphere, where I can just relax, shovel poop and play with my ponies. I’ve been sleeping better, actually working out more, and I bet my BP has even dropped.
VOODOO – it was about a 15 minute ride in a horse box. I just have a small 2-horse that Gabe doesn’t fit in, so a friend of mine with a big 3-horse moved them all for me. It was really cold. I’m glad I bought blankets – horse rugs? - for them at an auction last month.
JULEE – Welcome Back! Bravo for you, going back to WW. Hopefully that woman won’t even be there, and if she is you can tell her to put her judgmental tsk-tsks where the sun don’t shine. You aren’t there for HER negative input! Great that you’ve got your DH’s support!
CAROL – Sounds like a fabulous complement to have your enthusiasm, hard work, dedication and improved health recognized. Obviously he/they believe in you and your continued success!
TINA, I’m sorry you went through all that trauma with the insurance, but it sounds like that little melt down is over & past. Great about the -3!
ANNIE, your smokin’ success thrills me endlessly! WOW!
KAYLEY< Congrats on the new endorsement & job! I hope all goes great!
GO AMMI !!! Glad you have the bull by the horns again!
DEBBIE, good that you made a healthy shopping trip. I’m always amazed that heavy groceries make you skinny and light groceries make you fat. Weird, huh?
Hi to everyone I’ve missed. It’s just impossible to keep up sometimes!
Well, DH is coming home tonight. (He drives truck.) He’ll be here shortly, so I better go spiff up a bit. Take care, all!
Kayley: Glad that you are enjoying being back at work.
Ammi: I am so proud of you staying op 3 weeks in a row. You will be loosing that added weight before you know it back to where you were before the horrible stuff that happened last year.
Alison: You can jump back on track tomorrow. Come on Ali, you can do it!
Debbie: to you on loosing another 1 pound. It is so awesome getting further and further away from the 300 mark! I am so horrible at puzzles. You must have tons of patience to do them.
Lindy: So glad you are here in our neck of the woods. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Kimmie: Huge congrats on -12 pounds! Way to go.
Val: Enjoy time with Bill! Glad your boys are home.
Okay, my DH took a photo of me tonight after work and I was looking at it and I think I look the same from the belly area down. My chest up looks different but when I look in the mirror I look like the same 510 pound person and not the 294 pound person I just don't recognize her! It is frustrating to say the least. I have to say that the picture of me at 510 pounds makes me soooo sad. I am going to try to attach them onto this post if possible.
I'm really busy, and this board is hopping. I can keep up with reading but not with personals. I apologize if you have asked me something and I'm not answering it in this post. I'll try to come back later.
My eating hasn't been super, but it hasn't been really awful except for the dinner out earlier this week. Daily I'm eating about 300 more calories than my plan, which puts me only in a tiny deficit, but at least it's a deficit. Tomorrow I'm going to try again to reduce the cals to where they need to be.
I have had major issues with internet connectivity at the office, which has put me really behind with my work, missing deadlines, disappointing my clients, and missing opportunities for business. This is when being self employed is no fun. I am the IT department. The good news is that the problem now seems fixed.
OK, enough complaining for a day.
Moosegirl: I don't even think Pizza Hut is that good, yet I have been caught in their web many times before. ugh.
Debbie: Congrats on the 1 lb loss. I bet next week is going to be a good weigh in for you, too. As far as food spending goes, I find that I am spending about what I spent before, because I'm eating less, but the food is more expensive.
Valerie: Enjoy your time reuniting with DH. It was good that you told the previous boarder why you moved the boys. She needs to know he's affecting her business.
Fitgirl: Congratulations on your whopping 12 lb loss since December. Woo hoo!
Annie: Wow, you look phenomenal! Your face looks different. Amazing. You have so much to be proud of. You look great.
Nancy: Your new haircut is so nice! It is very flattering, and you look beautiful. The difference in your appearance is striking.
Things have been going pretty well lately, although I can't work out why my weight has been going UP, when I have been SO good food and exercise-wise for the past couple of weeks. TOM visited Monday, but wasn't that heavy and didn't last too long, so things should be settling by now. If things don't start moving down again in the next couple of days I'll mention it to my doctor on Tuesday when I go for the results of my blood work from last week. I truly have been eating REALLY well and exercising LOTS, so I am not very impressed with things. Still... I know something has to work right soon, so maybe I just need to be patient.
Oh... while I am thinking of it... does anyone know much about blood pressure. When I went to the doctor she said that my reading of 90/60 was "perfect", but it sounds a little low to me. I get a little light-headed now and then, and wondered whether it was due to my blood pressure being low.
Today is Australia Day and I have never seen so many Aussie 'things' around. For some reason more and more people seem to be getting into the spirit of things this year. At chorus last Wednesday we had an Australian themed evening and dressed up in Aussie colours and sang a range of Australian songs. It was fun. Tonight Neil and I are going to an outside theater to watch a band. We don't usually do evening activities as we are both more morning people, but a friend from chorus asked if we wanted to go along and the husband of another friend from chorus is in the band, so we figured that we would give it a go. It is a fairly relaxed atmosphere from the sounds of it and we are taking a couple of low beach chairs and having a picnic dinner on the grass before the concert. Hopefully it will be a lovely evening.
The holidays are just racing by! I am almost ready to go back to work though, which is a good feeling. I had some music professional development last Monday and Tuesday, which was good, as I don't feel quite as 'lost' with my new subject at school as I was for a while.
We have a public holiday on Monday, then I have Tues and Wed off before starting back at school on Thursday. I will probably duck in to school on Tuesday to see if they have any more of an idea just exactly what I will be doing.
Next weekend I am organising a Sausage Sizzle for chorus fundraising. A sausage sizzle (for those who have NO idea what I'm talking about) is basically a sausage in a bun with onions and sauces. They look like a hotdog, but we use normal barbecue sausages for sausage sizzles, whereas we use red sausages for hotdogs. We will also be selling drinks. Because I am organising it, I will be making a few purchases this week, then I will be spending quite a bit of time at the actual sausage sizzle location (outside a very busy hardware store) on Saturday and Sunday. I hope I don't have too much school work to get done on that weekend. I am hoping to get all of that done this week.
Just a few personals before I dash...
Annie - Thank you for the information about Catherine and Austin. I hope we hear from them soon to make sure that they are OK.
You are still doing SO well and I can DEFINITELY see a HUGE difference between your two photos. In fact, if you were wearing more 'fitted' clothes in the second photo, the difference would be even more noticable. Your clothes in that one seem to be a bit loose on you. I can certainly understand that you can't see the difference when you look in the mirror though. It took me a LONG time for my mind to catch up with my body.
Nancy - You truly look beautiful with your new hair style. It is simply perfect for you. You must be spending a LOT of time looking at yourself lately, just trying to convince yourself that it is YOU that you are seeing.
Julee - It is wonderful to see you back. I can't wait to see some wedding pics. Well done on winning that comp and I am looking forward to hearing the results of the second show.
Val - It is wonderful that you have your horses back at a place where you AND they are much happier. Isn't it disgusting that someone can be so two-faced? Did she believe you when you told her that her boyfriend had been the cause of you moving? Some people just can't see that a person can be different to other people than they are to them.
Ammi - I love seeing that you are so motivated again. I know that your determination will make the world of difference to your journey. You just seem to draw strength from somewhere and you power on from that point on. I look forward to seeing your progress over the following months.
Sharon - I LOVED reading your story. I truly hope you find somewhere to have it published. Then I will just have to work out how to get my hands on a copy of the publication, as it will probably be in a British magazine or something and I want to be able to wave it around and say "I know the author of that piece!!!" I am pretty sure that Borders here has a wide range of international magazines and I can probably get them to order it for me... just as soon as you let me know what magazine it is being published in. Have you noticed that I am getting a bit 'pushy' about getting you to send your work off to be published. *sweet innocent look from Zelma*
Debbie - I LOVE puzzles. I go through 'crazes' now and then when I just can't stop doing them, but then all of a sudden I stop midway through a puzzle and can't get back to it. I doesn't seem to have anything to do with the type of puzzle it is, it just always seems to happen.
Well, I have just looked at the clock and I had better dash to get ready for the evening. I will try to write more tomorrow.
Debbie – Well done on losing the 1lb that’s excellent for you. I managed to get through the binge and today am being good, already done a long dog walk and drank lots of fruit juice!
Lindy – Hello and welcome!
Heather – I am certain you will see results soon, you are doing so well, keep it up!
Kimmie – Well done on dropping those 12lbs that’s fantastic! Keep it up!
Dusty – I want a Wii, I am so addicted to my DS right now but I want a Wii it’s looks so active!
Annie – Back on track now… no more binges on pizza! I just saw your photos at the bottom, you look amazing with all that weight loss! Way to go!
BattleAx – I use to adore Pizza Hut, but last night realised how much I would have preferred that salad!
Totally back on track now, fruit juices this morning to boost my system after the intake of pizza last night, one long doggie walk to the park and we’ll go again later today!
