Hey everyone, I have to go pick up my oldest son from school early as he has been a stinker at school and they are asking that if it's ok with me that he miss the Halloween party this afternoon, he didn't take his medicine this morning as he said he wasn't going to be doing any work and wouldn't need it and now look what it got him. Anyway, I can't reply to every thread, but I did read them. Loved all the pictures! Hang in to those that are struggling on their plans, grats to those that have lost!! Sorry Michelle about the money, I would be a wreck, I worry so much about things like that. I once had 340.00 taken out of my purse, rent money that had been given to me by my roomate or I would've never had that much cash in my purse, and I about died. Sorry RR for everything you are going through.

I was down another 1.6 today at WW's which finally pushes me past 50 pounds total, woohoo, I'm sick as a dog with a horrible cold and dreading the trick or treating stint tonight, but I'll manage, lol. Anyway, off to get the teenager who I'm sure will be a joy since he's missing out on the fun at school. Sigh. Talk to ya all soon!

Good evening all..Thanks for the well wishes..I really appreciate and need them..No, I am still in the house...I start feeling really guilty since K just loves her daddy and would have a fit if he wasnt with us..I am just working on locking myself and K in my bedroom in the evening and staying away from #2 for awhile..I just feel guilty cuz she never asked to be mentally challenged or to come into this world I just hate that my daughter has to suffer for her..I will plan and do my weekends with K and stay away from family things..It just makes attempts to hold a marriage together harder when each parent does something without the other..DH summed it up when he told me that I can escape but since it is his biological child, he cant...It would be easier if her mom was still alive and could help..but we are it for her..and she can be very lovable at times...just sooooo stubborn....

Goddess--people are just soo evil...Wish your things would magically appear...

Stevi--I am with you..I hate when children suffer for parental stupidity..I could make your skin crawl to tell you stories..trust me on that one..

Jasmine--Hang in there--I say it is water....

Thanks Lauren for the links....off to relax a minute before the house gets hectic..I must get things ready for trick or treat tonight...
have a great evening all...

I finished my most recent project. Its two little girls, but it's so matte. I don't know if I should spray pant gloss on it, or varnish it. (Its on a wood plaque) I'll go ahead and post it...

Wow, where to begin?

Lauren, your boys have grown up so much! Oh my goodness it seems like just yesterday that we were seeing baby pictures of Robby. Wow, now I feel old.

Karen, I am sorry about your situation at your house. I understand where both you and DH are coming from (easy for me to say, since I haven't been in that position). Please know that we will support you.

Wanna, WOW! If I had that kinda talent. I know that we all have purpose and talents, but I have to say drawing or any kinda art is not me. In school one time I traced a picture of George Washington and it came out like Fozzy Bear! Let's just say I have always known that this is not one of my strengths.

I found out in a round a bout way today that my bosses are really impressed with me at work. My imediate (sp?) boss was at my college for a thing (not sure what) and was talking with the recruter who helped me get the job and was really giving me high praise. Laura (recruter) told my mom (who now works at the school) about it and ergo ~ that's how I found out.

I have been there almost 4 months and I am now training someone new. It's not for turnover, we are just that busy that we have to hire more people. I have so much stuff in my inbox ~ I could go in and work a whole extra 8 hrs and finally get caught up. But since I am salaried I don't think that I will do that (at least not this week).

I can't remember who it was that went to the Raiders game, but I feel ya. My ex (the dummy that he is) wore a Browns shirt to a game there. The tailgaters spit all over his windshilds, stuck hotdogs on the antenas, kicked in the tail-lights (rental) and when the whole section got up to leave, they threw tomatos & other assorted foods at them. I have to say, the Denver Broncos fans are the best (other than Bengals or Browns). My ex in 2000 won tickets to all 16 Cleveland Browns games so I speak from experience.

Well to everyone I missed, I must go to bed, as I have another busy day tommorrow.

Hi all! I made it through Halloween virtually unscathed! I had a reeses pb cup but that's it! Woo Hoo go me! Still trying to get the man on a better schedule. He got up at 4:30 today. This just ain't cuttin' it! I didn't get to take a nap today but should be able to tom'w if I have too. I have pics of the man and will post them prolly tom'w.

Stevi, great pic of ds#1. Looks totally cool!!

Michelle, sorry about the money. That so sucks. We had a person at work take $300 from another girl. Never did find out who it was but we all had thoughts. Glad you had fun at the game tho.

RR, You will be rewarded for all you do! To take on someone else's kids is one thing but to have the mental issues along with it...

Jasmine, oh my heart breaks to hear stuff like that! You can only tell yourself that the baby had a purpose and has now served it in this life.

Christie, that pic is really cute!! Do you sell stuff like that on eBay? Or could you? lol I'd like to get something for the man.

Mel, sorry ds is bein' a stink! Hopefully he learned his lesson though?

Lawrence, can't wait to see the pics. BTW I was telling dh that you are from Alberta and he asked if you are a Calgary or Edmenton fan? He just assumes that everyone is as obsessed with hockey as he is. LOL

to all I missed. Make it a great night!

Lisa: thanks for the complement Sounds like your doing awesome at work... feels good to be appreciated doesn't it?

Molly: wow, only one reese cup You go girl!! Once I start, I can't stop. And yes, That is my ultimate goal, to start selling my stuff on ebay. I am doing a few thing, and then I am gonna do custom auctions where i will recreate them, and personalize it. I am doing Thomas the train next, Whats your DS into?

ok, I'm going to bed now nighty night

Cool The Day After - Can you survive the Halloween Candy Clearance Sales?

Well, today is the day after Halloween. I hope everyone with little ones had a great time going door to door. I had a decent time giving out candy at the door.... I really like the little kids who come by early in the evening, dressed in their fuzzy lion suits and frog costumes. I think I met more royalty last night than I have in my entire life. Princesses must be the "in thing" for the little girls.

Speaking of girls, there were some...*ahem* interesting "older" girls (16/17) who came by later. There was a porn star with her boyfriend....either that or she was supposed to be a cow girl, but I'm pretty sure they didn't wear skirts that short or tops that small. Then there was a gaggle of 4 girls of the same age group....again with the small, low cut tops showing ample cleavage and short, tight shorts/skirts. (Did girls dress like this when I was 16/17? If they did, where was I? ) I'm not sure what they were supposed to be dressed as... Oh well. Who cares, really? As long as they're having fun and don't catch cold.

There was one other guy who totally missed his calling for Halloween. He was in his early teens, dressed in a non-descript sports jersey with a head wound makeup...but it was his perfectly round glasses and innocent face that had me thinking "man, this kid would have made a perfect (and I mean perfect) Harry Potter). What a waste.

Anyway, this is probably one of those situations where not being a parent is working in my favour since I do not have pillow cases full of goodies in the house. We have a couple dozen or so small packets of candies left over from giving them out at the door, but the DW and I will be taking them into work to get them out of the house. Not that I didn't snack a little last night and then eat way too much pizza when the DW got home. *sighs* And, yes, the scale is rewarding me appropriately this morning. It's only a number, only a number, only a number....

Today isn't going to be an easy day. This past weekend, an Aunt that Laurie was very closed to passed away after a 3 or 4 month battle with cancer. We had known that she was undergoing some serious chemotherapy and had a lung removed, but things were just too advanced when it was all discovered. We got the call last week that doctors were giving her 7 to 10 days and we were planning to visit on Laurie's day off on Sunday. Of course, we got the call on Sunday morning telling us the bad news. So, today is the funeral. I hate funerals.

Darcy - I'd love your recipe for General Tsao's Chicken (as it is one of my favorites as well) and the one for your Homemade Chicken Tenders as both sound just great! I'd never thought that it wouldn't be hard to make chicken coating instead of buying that Shake'n'Bake crap. A little more work, but I bet you can make it up in advance....

Lauren - The oatmeal turned out great. The ginger flavour wasn't very strong, but definitely noticeable and the peach gave it just a hint of sweetness. I didn't use any sweetener - sugar, splenda, anything - since it didn't need it (IMHO) and would have destroyed the flavour. I think next time I'm in my favorite bulk food store that I'll buy a small container of candied or sugared ginger and finely dice that to put in with the peaches to give it a *little* more ginger flavour (since I like ginger ) but it's definitely fine the way it is.

As soon as I have some time, I'll post the (single) picture I had taken last night. I gotta find a place to do image hosting so I can show it off. And I share Peter's obsession with Thomas. In fact, as hard as this might be to believe, I grew up with Thomas, Gordon, Percey and the gang. Not from the TV show or anything recent (though I've been known to watch them ), but from the original books from England. Turns out my mom found a bunch at a yard sale when I was 3 or 4 and would read them to me. Naturally, I loved them. In fact, a couple years ago, I got the complete works in a hard covered book for Christmas. Ah....childhood memories.

Christi - MORE wonderful pictures of those wonderful women. I'm telling you, this beast does NOT belong amongst all these beauties. I especially like the picture of Bethany and the "Why are you taking ANOTHER picture?" expression.

Molly - Er....Alberta? I'm not sure where you got that idea, but I'm about 5000 km (3100 miles) and 3 time zones to the east. As for Hockey, I'm definitely not a rabid fan of the sport (or any sport, for that matter) but I have been known to watch the odd game now and then -- especially during the play-offs. Favorite team - always been a Montreal Canadiens fan, though I'll cheer for any Canadian team.

Anyway, this is WAAAAAY too long as it stands and I have to put in a few hours of work (from home) before we drive the hour to the funeral later this morning.

Everyone have a great day and stay out of the candy!

Morning all!

Well, I did it! Got my lazy butt movin this morning and did a workout..... ! I think that all that walking last night REALLY Helped. I have also sworn off the candy and I have to stand my ground because Lawrence's little guy with the bat is gonna hold me to it!! Thank you Lawrence!!

Lawrence~I will PM you the recipes. Sounds like you got an eyefull last night! We went to a costume party Sat. night and there was 1 young lady there (Man do I feel old now, I say young, she was probably 21 or 22!) anyway, she was dressed as what I thought was a police woman and my husband thought she was dressed as a stripper in a police woman outfit, that is how skimpy that thing was. I think that after a while she caught on that it was a little inappropriate for where she was and used her boyfriends sweatshirt to cover up a bit......thank goodness! Granted she had the body to pull it off, but really, we were in someone's home, not a bar.

Christi~Great job on the painting, you are So talented! I am no artist, so I will stick to my scrapbooking, I just love that!

Christi & Jessamy~ I have sworn off the sugar and I hope that you guys will help me on those days that I want to dive straight into a bowl of pure sugar! I'll help you too, even lay on the guilt if necessary! We're in this together!!

Jasmine~So sorry to hear about the baby, that must have been very difficult to see!

Michelle~That is terrible!! I cannot believe the nerve of some people! I hope that you guys can get the money together quickly. good luck!

Well, Hello to everyone else gotta run. I am headed over to Amazon.com to order the new "You on a Diet" book that my favorite Doctor, Dr. Oz has put out. He is going to be on Oprah tomorrow and I cannot wait!!
Chat soon,
Darcy

Lawrence, well slap me and call me stupid. LOL I swear I heard someone talking about Alberta. Assumed it was you. But you know what they say about assuming right?

Christie, trust me it's killing me staying out of the candy! Don't think for one secind that I don't want to jump right in that bowl and eat my way out of it! Not sure why I haven't. God must be tapping me on the shoulder. lol As for your paintings, the man is way into Cars right now. Elmo too but I think Cars will frow with him better. Let me know when you're ready to sell your stuff!

I'm good so far on not eating all the candy...we'll see how the day goes! lol TTYL

Ok, well here's the only pic I have right now of my Cyndi LAuper costume that I wore last Sat for my HAlloween Gig.

I'm down another Lb this morning. YAY! Last night was relatively uneventful. Went to MIL's and took Lo lo to about 3 houses. He was not interested. DH just wanted to show him off to the neighbors. I set up my audition for the "other" cover band, talked to the manager on the phone for the 1st time..( we had only spoke on-line) She was pretty excited to have heard from me! Already telling me that the band would love to have me and are willing to learn the songs I prefer to sing...I was like, "Wow, all that from my demo on my web site?" She remarked as to liking my personality as well...( I was speaking to her via e-mail like I talk to you guys...lol) I go next Wednesday @ 6pm. DH is coming with me as I've never met these people. Pray the band isn't a dud! I'm finishing the Dora Mural (finally! my back really set that back a bit) this coming weekend...Now she wants me to do the play room. I have to come up with some ABC theme's. Any Ideas?

Great painiting Christi! I saw it AFTER I got you PM. Der.
RX~ How cute you are! Woo Woo!!!
DArcy!~ YAY on gettin off the hinny!
RR~ Big hug. I'll all work out.
Hi mel!!~ Congrats on your "losing" streak! Hope you are feeling better.

Thumbs down Dragging a$$ back on wagon!! UGH!

Ever have one of those weekends where you don't just "slip", but rather JUMP off the wagon? OMG - it was SO me this weekend. First, spent all day working on my friggin' costumes for me and dh to wear to the party Sat night. Ran to mass before the party and then to McD's on way home (eeks, kids pick!). Did I have a salad? Nah - dove head first into a Big Mac, fries and coke.

Then at the party I drank WAY too many margaritas (probably the drunkest I have been in a decade) and kept thinking I needed to eat to offset the alcohol and have no idea how many snacks I choked down, but my gallbladder was SCREAMING come middle of the night. Did I learn my lesson? Nope. Snacked around all day Sunday and then went out for Mexican (not low fat!) that night with dh and the kids. Total lack of a plan!

Then I had a massive migraine on Monday and my gallbladder was giving more fits (can I make it to the first of the year for the surgery?). I came to work, but left 30 min later and laid on the couch the rest of the day. The advil and a couple of cokes didn't really make it go all the way away. Still felt a little crappy yesterday.

But I had to make up the storm drain marking that got rained out last week so I did that and was supposed to go for a massage which I thought might help the headache (and back and neck aches I suffer from all the time). But it got canceled (lady had a "family emergency"). I was bummed and ate! Then had a few of the pieces of kids candy and cookies and koolaid from the TWO parties I helped with (one for the KG class for ds and one for the preschool class for dd). Dh took them ToT'ing. I dove into the candy last night and today. The gallbladder is really feeling like crap. Why can't I stop myself???

So thank the Lord you guys are here and can help me find my way back. Tonight is just spaghetti with the kids. Need to hit the store and try to put some healthy things in the pantry. I hate meal planning. I swear I wish I could just have a note on my pillow every morning with what to eat for the day. Ugh! And exercise has been out the window minus all the insane housework I had to get done this weekend (dh was at the gun range on his only day off so I did it all - hunting season just around the corner - good gravy).

My kids were cute last night as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Santa. Crazy kids. Need to get them on some sort of schedule though. Seems like the last few days have been totally out of whack for them too. They didn't even eat dinner last night - just candy. What kind of horrible mom am I?

I skimmed the posts, but I will have to wait until tomorrow to do some personals. Know that I am thinking about all of you. Prayers for the lady getting separated. I can't imagine how hard that is for you. More prayers for the lady whose stuff got stolen at the game. That sucks majorly. Hope you can work out the rent and all that. Ick! Hoping to get my act together in the next few days.

God bless!

Christina
