Hello. I would like to join soon. However, the batteries to my scale are low...so I need to get those replaced in order to do the weekly weigh ins...

SOON.

Daki - that's exciting! I did something like that but to a much smaller degree. :P I have a pair of size 14 (all of my jeans are 14 except one 16) jeans that are my absolute favorite. I found an old giftcard to American Eagle, so I went to buy a second pair of them & decided to get a mini goal pair instead. The exciting part was that the 12's fit perfectly. I bought a pair of 10's that definitely didn't zip. :P I can't wait until they do!

I need some help with a new issue that I NEVER thought I'd have. I cut my carbs back to half of the serving I was eating previously at each meal to try to stimulate more weight loss. Now I'm having trouble making my minimum of 1200 calories each day. I feel full and don't have a strong desire to eat more because I'm eating a lot of nutrient dense foods that are naturally lower in calories. I don't want to cram calories just to hit 1200 but I also don't want to destroy my metabolism more than it already is by eating too few calories. Any advice?

Bunnabear: Trying eating a couple more things that have fuller fat in them. Maybe instead of low fat cottage cheese, eat full fat cottage cheese. Or add a couple of slices of cheddar to a meal. That will easily bump you quickly & it's just adding a ton of food that you feel like you don't want anyway.

Daki - That's awesome!! What a great way to motivate yourself! Knowing that you HAVE to lose the weight in order to wear is going to motivate you to get going & not stop. GL!

Shifting my calories down to 1250ish was the change I needed to get losing again, but man alive! I definitely miss the extra 150-200 calories everyday! I was ready to my arm last night! Plus, AF will be here Friday, so I think I'm getting PMS cravings early. Hoping to see 132 by Friday, but with AF coming, I'm not entirely sure that's realistic. I'm also secretly wanting to just drop 3 more after that just to see a 12- on the scale. Never seen it before & it's only 3lbs...slippery slope?!

I'm a super failure at being on the internet. I'm still working towards my goal but having access to the web has become an issue.

I re-signed up for WW 2 weeks ago and have lost 4 more pounds and was informed that my home scale weighs me 2lbs heavier than I am (yay!) down to 183 and a 43lb loss. :)

Keep going ladies!

Hi all, I'm Laura, new here! I added myself to the spreadsheet with every intention of introducing myself right after, but the kids distracted me and now my eye lids are drooping. I will come back tomorrow with a prope intro. Looking forward to hanging out with y'all and getting to know everyone!

Oops forgot to weigh in last week.

Hey guys, I'm really struggling right now to break out of the 140's! I've been trying to lose my post-surgery weight since October, but haven't been able to bust out despite almost doubling my exercise and eating generally healthier. I feel helpless to eat better because I have a meal plan with limited options. I get the fruits, veggies, fish, and grilled chicken when I can, but I just feel stuck with bland food. Any suggestions on how to finally get over this hump?

ParkTrot 03-07-2013 05:25 AM

Phew, long time no talk everybody! I have been wanting to jump back in and post, but I have just not had a long enough period of time to sit down, read it, and then reply. So I’ve been lurking secretly, but HOPEFULLY I am back now!

Rie – First off your jacket over in the other thread is ADORABLE! Secondly I’m sad to hear you were feeling so ill :(. Illness/injury can be such a major setback (as I am finding out), but it sounds like you’ve landed on your feet. Super proud of you for taking a double dose on your workouts! Double days can be super taxing, especially when you can mentally justify it by saying “well technically I did already workout once…” but it sounds like you’re really sticking with it! Having something you enjoy doing definitely helps.

MaddieB – Congratulations on being SO dang close to goal! I can’t imagine how excited you are. Really I would just base whether or not you want to go for that 3 extra lbs more so on how you look/feel rather than the number itself. Like you said, it can be a slippery slope.

Bunnabear – Could you try incorporating foods that are more calorie dense and have healthy fats? IE: Macadamia nuts, almonds, etc? Not sure where those are at carbwise, but they are healthy either way so it might be worth a shot. Plus Macadamia nuts are delicious, so who can argue with that?

So good news and bad news for me – the good news is, I’m back in the gym after a month off due to injury – YAAAAY!!! The bad news is my strength has definitely been affected by all this time off : (. I’m hoping it should return here quickly, but it’s hard to tell with these things. I’m frustrated, but I’m trying not to let it get to me…just bad timing considering what this Saturday is. What’s this Saturday you ask? Well, I signed up and am on a team for this years CrossFit Games Open (!!!) and will be doing my first testing this Saturday. Lets be real – I am not going to be the best in the region or the box or even in my heat most likely, especially considering the people on my team and testing at my box, but damn I’m proud that in LESS THAN A YEAR I have gone from being 235lbs and totally unhealthy to being able to compete in the freakin CrossFit Games Open :carrot:! I'm not going to be posting any superultra competitive times this year or anything - **** I doubt I'll be able to RX all the workouts - but this is my moment to prove myself, and I plan on putting my all into this. I’m hoping to next year actually be able to get in there and at least RX everything, but this year will be an excellent introduction into the process and getting used to the realm of competition. But I’m going to be putting my all into this, so wish me luck! Incredibly nervous and excited all at once. The first workout was just announced tonight, so taking a deep breath and preparing how the rest of my week will go.

Adding onto that, I am officially in the 160’s! I can’t remember how long its been since I was here, but I’m crazy excited. I’m noticing that each lb is making more and more of a difference as well now that I am at a lower weight. So all and all, other than my frustration over lost strength, things are going well!

I forgot to add, that I also set up a consultation for later this month with a surgeon :). I have come to the decision that after all this work, I deserve to have post-weightloss reconstructive surgery. Hoping to have that done this summer, but we'll see what the surgeon says.

bunnabear 03-07-2013 08:05 AM

Thanks for the suggestions. I've increased my lean protein and added some MUFAs (healthy fats), so hopefully that will get me where I need to be.

I had a little NSV yesterday. Someone who hadn't seen me in a while was talking to me for a few minutes and then stepped back and said, wow, you look great, what have you been doing? I explained all of the work I'd put in and she said it really shows. That really felt good!

Daki 03-07-2013 11:13 AM

Mmcintosh, your spice cabinet is your best friend when it comes to being bored with your food. I like spicy stuff, so I'll put hot sauce or powered cayenne pepper on stuff. Or experiment with different spice combos on my food. One of my favorite meals to make is a baked salmon that I put a dry rub of cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, ground thyme, allspice and cinnamon on. It's so good! Never would have thought cinnamon on fish would be good.

ParkTrot, oh I feel your pain. I sprained my ankle pretty bad in January while running and I couldn't run for over a month afterwards. I was sooooo mad. When I did get back to it I lost basically all of my progress, I have bad lungs though so my problem was with breathing not my leg muscles.

Thanks for all of the words of encouragement, ladies! It was a big risk but I'm confident I can pull it off. I'm VERY excited about tonight. Two friends and I have been lifting in the basement while the one girl's husband basically trains us. We're not on a set schedule yet but are trying to get on a Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday schedule. And tonight is LEGS! I get to do squats and dead lifts! My favorite things! Yay!

Let's keep kicking butt this week everyone!

So I began the hybrid this morning of adding in 30 Day Shred on top of 6 Week 6 Pack that I started doing on Monday. IT IS KILLER! But I feel amazing, alert, and confident. I am looking forward to sticking with this plan through and through, and have decided after I complete this plan, I will be ready to be full force into a second round of P90X.

Between those, I think I will be comfortable enough to rock a flattering bathing suit this summer, and definitely one for my husband and I's honeymoon later on this year!

KTB -Thanks! I can definitely say it worked for me. It even lead me to buy 3 other Jillian DVDs. I'm glad you found your way out of the weightloss doldrums. Good for you for sticking to your plan in the face of temptation and frustration!

Thanks! I bought the 30 Day Shred and going to attempt my first round today. Do you know anyone that did it every other day?
