Im a newbie! Umm.. how do you put the ticker in your signature? O_O I have no idea...
At the top of your page, there's a purple bar with different links.
On the far left, click the one that says "User CP"
On the far left of the page, click "Edit Signature"
On that page it explains how to get a ticker, as well as the signature rules.
Post if you can't take it from there.
A little bit late, but I am joining you gals. This could be the first bikini-season in YEARS that I am gonna be completely comfortable with myself. No wiggly butt this year! And if it still wiggles, it's gonna wiggle over a load of muscles and still look impressive.
I'm going to Cuba at the end of March, and while I most definitely will not FEEL bikini ready by then... even if I could guarantee myself two lbs a week... I'd like to feel better than I do now!
Welcome philana and Jelbb, everyone is welcome at any time! Just read up on the rules and you're set =)
Here are week 2 stats again, figured I'd post them on new pages so people can see them if they haven't already!
Here are the week 2 stats!
Aware has taken the top spot for both the overall chart and the weekly chart with a massive 7 lb loss this week!
But whitelikechalk's consistency with losing the pounds over the 2 weeks have earned her enough points to take the lead in the challenge.
By the end of the week there were 116 people listed on the spreadsheet, meaning we had 14 newcomers to the challenge! I have had to move 19 people to the stand by list, meaning 31 people in total have dropped out so far. There are now 97 people remaining in the challenge!
Reading the rules again, this challenge seems a bit shady. :/
Its not about pounds lost, its about goals, which is crazy. If I lose 4 pounds in a week, and a smaller person loses 2, they are somehow doing better than me because they are smaller and have an easier time getting to their goal?
Well, that doesn't seem fair at all. This challenge would be more useful if we were in weight categories, rather than putting bigger people with bigger goals with smaller people and their minute goals.
Exception I'm not sure I agree. From what I hear (although I've certainly never been that close! ) the last few pounds can be the hardest to lose.
Maybe others look at it differently, but I'm not looking at this as a competition. I joined this challenge so I can get inspiration from the awesome ladies here to work hard, eat healthy, and have something to show for it. I do much better when I have to be accountable...to others as well as to myself.
Plus, we can share tips and chat about struggles or victories.
But riestrella put in (and continues to put in) a lot of work making this challenge...so I had to add my 2 cents. I don't think it's shady at all.
It's not about goals. It's actually determined by the percentage of your weight loss. That is, the percentage of your total weight that you have lost. That's really the only fair way to do it. It's not a percentage of your goal weight that you've lost.
I agree that this is not shady at all! It's done by percentage of weight lost. When I first started losing I was upset whenever I would lose anything under 2 lbs.. now that I'm smaller and closer to my goal I'm happy if I manage to lose over a pound in a week. Being smaller and closer to goal does not makeit easier to lose. It makes it harder. Or i guess i should say that it takes longer.

But the percentage is based upon ones current weight. Ill give an exampple.
Woman #1 who is 125lbs loses 2 pounds, and that is 2.5% of her weight.
Woman #2 who is 298lbs loses 5 pounds, and that is 1.6% of her weight.
So, you're all telling me that woman #1 has worked harder than woman #2 just because she is smaller?
Or rather because woman #2 is bigger it is assumed that her weight loss is somehow easier, so she should work harder and lose more than 3x the weight just to be in the same rank as woman #1.
That means I have to try 2x as hard because im bigger.
Hm. I guess I can see your perspective, Exception.
However, I'm a big fan of the Biggest Loser, and over the course of some asinine number of seasons, like 13... the one constant I've noticed is that people who are bigger and have more weight to lose tend to drop significantly bigger numbers than their smaller counterparts, exerting roughly the same amount of effort. (Obviously roughly, as who can know exactly the amount of effort... but I doubt the smaller people have consistently not tried as hard just for fun.)
I even find that getting from 173 down to 170 is significantly easier than my month and a half long push to get from 143 back into the 130s. (This was during my last weight loss journey, obv, as I'm now back to where I started, woo.)

It doesen't mean you have to work twice as hard. Like others have stated, the challenge is going by % lost and its just something fun to add into the mix .
The smaller you are and closer to your goal, the higher the % loss with every pound. And trust me. The closer you do get to your goal, the harder it is. My I'm lucky if I'm averaging 5 pounds a month now, and i'm within 15-20 pounds of stopping. When I first started I dropped 70 without to much difficulity, where now i'm working my butt off at the gym for an hour a day 6 days a week xD... But it is different for everyone. Welcome to the challenge
