Weightforme IF is known as Intermittent Fasting. Basically you fast ( consume only water, tea, and coffee) for 14-24 hours at a time and then eat again within a set "window" of time usually between 4-8 hours. Some people even opt to complete 24-48 hour fasts. I'm actually in the last few hours of a fast that has lasted a little over 48 hours. You usually have to play around with the eating window to see which works for you and your schedule. The idea is that the energy your body spends digesting food on a "eat 6 meals a day every 3-4 hours" eating plan can be spent on burning fat with IF.

The first couple attempts are a challenge but soon you actually start looking forward to the breaks from food. Google intermittent fasting and you will find a ton of information on it. I kept my explanation brief as I am certainly a beginner and don't want to misinform. There are also a few threads on 3FC with many active IFers. Its not for everyone but combined with a low-carb diet its working for me more than anything Ive tried :0). Hope this helps!

Skinnyelle - ive been doing IF for 6 days, today being my 7th but i messed up and my body just wanted the bad food! Have you had any days like that and how have they affected your weight loss? I usually do 2pm-8pm but im tempted to do a 24hr fast till tomorrow night to undo my damage but ive never waited till dinner time to eat...

I had two days like that this past weekend! Now that I know TOM was around the corner I understand the cravings that led to the eating. But honestly I think getting your mind right is the best defense. Bottle up whatever feelings arise from eating less than perfectly on plan and use them as a reminder the next time you think of doing it again. My little binge cost me 6 lbs of water weight. But the great thing about IF is damage can quickly be undone in a few days of good clean fasting. Within 1 day of a 24 hour fast I was back to my pre-binge weight and more committed than ever. Exercise helps me stay on track too.

For the 24 hour fast I find a great tasting tea, lots of water, and a busy day help it to be more bearable. And after a few hours my hunger disappears. Where there's a will there is a way. You are stronger than you think, and can totally do this. If not go as far as you can and try again for the next day. You will get there :D

Have you had any weight loss success since starting?

Thanks Skinnyelle, I havnt weighed myself yet, after yesterdays bad food day i am 24 hour fasting today and then I will get back to my eating window tomorrow and post my weight loss here on saturday (which will be 1 week and 1 day of IF).
