Jess - Ahh it's downstairs in my fridge, but it's the one that my costco is selling right now. I think it starts with an A?
Feral - Omg that sounds delicious - I love spicy too Sorry that the boy is being pissy :C
Wooo, I'm excited! Me, Roy, Scott, and Erin are going to see How To Train Your Dragon in 3D! Then I'm going to work on some homework, and then my mom needs to me help her out at the office so I'm picking up some hours. I just wish it would stop raining!
I think you guys are talking about Athenos Hummus. I love it, too. I have actually been meaning to pick some up.
Feral, that sucks about your guy being kinda pissy. I hope you guys can talk and work everything out. I know sometimes it's hard to gauge people's tones via txt. I hope that's the case here. congrats on the big loss! I hope it sticks.
I'm down another pound this week. I'm now 139. If I lose another lb I will be the lowest I've been in 10 years. Wowza. I'm doing a lot of traveling this summer (2 weeks in New Orleans, 2 weeks in Morocco) and I'm scared of undoing all of my hard work. Anyone have any tips on staying on track while traveling?
Anyone have any tips on staying on track while traveling?
I can tell you what my therapist suggests however it seems to be harder for me to actually follow through with. Truth be told its not really that hard, I just choose not to do it because I like food and I like eating out with friends. Are you staying with friends in either city? My biggest suggestion would be to choose how many "planned diversions" you are going to allow yourself. If you're there for 2 weeks are you going to allow yourself 1 meal or 2 where you go off plan or allow higher calories. If you can go to a grocery store when you get there do that. That way you have things YOU eat with you constantly so you really don't have an excuse to eat poorly.
BTW - I'm jealous. I was watching House Hunters last night and they featured Morocco. It looks BEAUTIFUL there.
ATHENOS hummus is what I eat too. Love the stuff!!!
I talked to my friend and got advice from a boy brain about Mike. He thinks he wasnt being pissy but just felt bad about "putting me out" so he probably really meant that he didn't want to ask me to change my plans. I'll let you guys know when I talk to him tonight. Basically I'm being a girl and I'm afraid he'll be mad, he'll say screw the whole thing or he won't be able to get our original weekend off... then I'm going to be a sad panda and I'll think he won't care and then I'll be a sadder panda. See -- already built this up to be WAYYYY too much in my own head.
Forest - that just made me super excited because you're my running idol. Maybe the shoes will bring me good luck then!
Hey all! No time for personals today since i have classes, i gotta go to the gym, and I have to get ready for relay for life!
All i can say though is that i am a ravenous beast today....but I'm not having it all lost...I'm still going to the gym! But I'm really craving a huge meaty burger. There's none up here though. oh well, better off without it! darn TOM.
Forest - I was so tired of seeing the higher numbers, I decided to move it but the true test will actually be tomorrow. I always get excited and change it because it keeps me motivated. I'm a big goober.
Samantha - if you're craving a burger it's probably because you need iron. I may eat red met 6 times a year if that. I've def noticed red meat cravings during TOM before and attribute it to slight anemia. Get some leafy dark greens and that may help!
Forest - Hugs! That sounds like a lot to deal with all at once, but I'm sure it'll work out in the end. That seems strange that you'd have to make college decisions before you get financial aid packages - is it a grad school thing? Oh - and that red dress is HOT!!!
Feral - Silly boys Although your friend is probably right that he didn't mean anything by it - sometimes I read wayyyyy more into what my fiance is saying than I should be! Congrats on the 190!
Mary - Oh my gosh, I want to see that move sooooo bad, but I'm not sure when I'm going to have a chance to get to the theater. Maybe next weekend? It just looks so cute!
Amaniesa - Your travel plans sound awesome - I'd love to visit Morocco some day! As for travel tips, I'm terrible about staying on track away from home, but two things I try to keep in mind are to stick to my regular eating schedule (no mindless munching when I'm in the car or extra late night snacks just because I'm traveling) and to focus on stopping eating when I'm full (even if I do want to indulge in dessert or a nice meal out, I try to only eat until I'm full and then stop).
Closing is on for this afternoon! I can't believe we pulled it off - closing in under 30 days without preapproval from the lender isn't something I'd ever, ever recommend doing!!! Hopefully there won't be any unexpected problems that come up at closing...
Now if I could just get some work done, that'd be great - unfortunately, I think I'm going to be way too twitchy all day!
Smisen - CONGRATS!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you this afternoon! That is pretty crazy! I used to live with 3 roommates in his mom's house which was on the market. We knew that it could sell at any time and we'd have to go from there. Luckily 2 of the roomates bought a house and let us drag along. The family that bought his mom's house wanted to move in within a month because they had kids starting school. We packed up the whole house... the roommates closed on the other house, but the couple couldn't move within a month so we had to wait 6 weeks. So we moved stuff into his mom's current house, into the other roommate's parents house, and my stuff and D's into his parents. Then we had to pack it all up again and move within a few weeks. That was the longest 6 weeks ever. Hopefully you won't have to deal with any of that crap!
smisen- good luck at closing! theoretically some financial aid packages should come before the first deadline (April 15), but some won't, and I don't have any of them yet so it's tough to narrow down my choices. At best I'll have a week to make a fully informed decision.
So today was interesting..I had a video stroboscopy done (video recording of my larynx). The graduate students have to do them, so I volunteered to be their guinea pig.
IT WAS SO COOL!! And because I'm such a loser, I had my friend take pictures! And since I'm even more of a loser, my larynx is currently my facebook picture!
[IMG][/IMG]
This is how I spend a fine friday afternoon!
I'd post a picture of my larynx too, but I don't know how everyone is with internal organs.
I also went to the gym, but didn't work out that much because I'll be walking all night at Relay.
I also got wait listed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At least I didn't get rejected, but I don't care either way...I'm going to Bloomsburg for graduate school. I just want to see how I do everywhere else!
Feral-I'm sure that's probably it. I barely eat red meat anymore...just chicken and shrimp. Thanks for the suggestion!
Wheeee - we did it!!! (Sorry in advance for monopolizing the chat thread this week with my home buying stories... ) No issues at closing - actually, the whole thing was a lot easier than I expected. I guess it's just that people have been telling me to expect hours and hours of signing papers - we were in and out in 45 minutes, and most of that was waiting around for copies of everything.
Afterwards, we had dinner out and then went over and just walked around the house saying "This is mine, this is mine and this is mine" - what a crazy feeling . Within five minutes, my fiance broke the spring on the attic access door (ugh... men ), but whatever - the seller left us a lovely gift basket with a bottle of champagne, so we were both a little tipsy by then. I guess that's what they mean by the joys of homeownership!
Moving should be pretty simple - it's actually a condo in the complex we're renting in right now, so it's all of 200 yards away from where we live now. We're going to try to move everything over on Sunday, when a bunch of my fiance's bouncer friends are coming over to help, but we don't have to be out of our current apartment until 4/15, so we have some leeway for cleaning it out and tying up loose ends. I should probably start packing, though...
Okay - next week I promise to calm down about this stuff Hopefully things will be back to normal by then!
Smisen - Congratulations to you!!!!!! That is awesome! "your a homeowner, your a home-owner, your a freakin' home owner!!" ..thats my song, alot like your "its mine" song!
I agree with Feral - thanks Haley - that blog is too funny! And my shoes are a little different, just a little more sexy/bright pink instead of a hot/dark pink but very close! Interesting!
Day 9 of not weighing myself ... ughk! I went to shopper's drug mart today... really contemplating taking a scale for sale out of the box, stepping on it,and put it back in the box and pretend like it didn't happen.... BUT there was 2 boys working on that exact same isle ...so Yup, thats my story! Tomorrow will be day 10 haha...I want my effing scale! I get to weigh myself, after my TOM which should be next Thursday morning or Friday.
How weird is this? I'm enjoying the freedom - its a weird feeling, I enjoy not having to focus on that number every morning - BUT I'm going bananas not knowing if im losing or gaining! this is a lose-lose situation! HELP!
BECAUSE What happens when I do weigh myself Thursday....and I'm disappointed or something silly?!!? I've been doing really good stayinig OP and within my daily calories.
