StuffedBunny, I'm still having great results with the aloe vera juice. I think the first time I used it, I took it the evening I bought it with dinner, then the next morning with breakfast. And voila. And then I took it with breakfast and dinner for 5 days after, then 5 days off, and now I'm on it again. I've poo-ed nearly everyday, lol.
I also haven't found that it's too nasty. I got this kind --> http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aloe-Vera-...fl-oz/10314801 And it does have kind of an intense flavor, but it's still fruity. I reuse 16.9oz waterbottles, fill them up 3/4 of the way with water, put some crystal light in them, and then fill it the rest of the way up with the aloe juice. I'd never really heard of aloe to make somebody poop, so maybe it just works for me. |
Ohhh, mine is an unflavored one. It tastes like lemon juice mixed with pinesol (assumption) hah I'm going to mix it with something next time. I had to hold my nose shut to drink it like I was a little kid. haha After reading up on it, and with the problems I have with irregularity, even if it doesn't create poop-fusion-magic in my intestines, it's probably not a bad thing to keep drinking!

To follow up from the last page, I've now tried the DivaCup from start to finish, and it's awesome!
I was so excited I told a bunch of friends about it too. lol No problems whatsoever, never even felt it, messyness factor about the same as using pads/tampons, no leaks, I'm hooked. I was out all Saturday night so it was awesome not having to worry about re-application and leakage. :D |
I tried to find a Divacup last weekend actually. I went to a huge natural foods coop and they didn't have any. I was surprised. And disappointed :( Where did you get yours, preppingbride?
And Megan I tried the aloe juice. I had some in the morning and at night like you said. It made me really gassy, and sorta crampy, and after two days I went but it wasn't much. I told my mom and she bought me chamomile tea flowers, celery, and vitamins and told me to try all three together and see what happens. It's been better. I'm going to add the aloe juice too, maybe that'll be the best quad attack to make my GI tract take care of business. |
There's a link on the DivaCup website that shows the stores that carry it. I'm actually really surprised that there was a place in my little town that had it. Happened to be a giant health store that I had never stepped foot in before.
Can't say you'll find it in the same place... considering I'm up in Canada. :) |
Oodles - I believe you can also find them on amazon.com.
Sounds weird but a lot of the sellers on amazon are companies and not individuals so they haven't been "used." LOL |

Skinny jeans give me PBS!
Okay I am new here but this TMI thread had me thinking... I wonder if other people have this issue??
If I wear pants that are too constrictive in the waist area, I have ...bathroom issues.... Especially if I have to sit all day like when I am at work! No skinny jeans for me unless I'm standing up! Otherwise I might get a terrible bathroom attack which I call PBS... it stands for "poopy butt syndrome". LOL, My mom came up with that one! |
Alex - this happens to me - or rather, used to happen to me all the time. It gave me horrible, painful gas, and was NO FUN.

Okay new TMI question: Maybe this only happens with girls with big thighs. My thighs rub together so much, that they chaf and sometimes I can get blisters there, even though I'm not overtly overweight. This happens especially when I wear jeans or sit down and sweat on the chair, and peel off my skin when I stand up. Hahaha. Here is the TMI part. I'm about a size 8-10 on my bottoms, and when I was this weight and size before during my teen years, I didn't have the chaffing problem. So now that I'm 25, my skin is looser???? SHUDDER AT THE THOUGHT!
So anything I can do about that, other than lose more weight? EDIT: Oh yes, I realize my grammar is horrible in the above post. But I wrote it half asleep and half-assed, so I shall leave it there MOSTLY uncorrected, since it enders me to it. |
AllisonR, I get the same problem with my thighs and it is so awful! I used to wear black cotton biking shorts under my skirts all the time, just to keep my thighs from chaffing and getting super uncomfortable. I've found that as long as the humidity isn't too high and it isn't too hot, I'm usually ok (because I'm not sweating, I suppose). Hopefully as I lose more weight it will become less of a problem. And I never, ever wear pants. I'm a skirts and dresses kind of girl, pants just don't flatter me (hello thunder thighs!) and so I gave up on them.
Try the shorts, maybe? They don't add much bulk at all under regular skirts and are also handy on windy days. |
