Well done blueridgegirl! consistently heading down the scale is definitely a good thing
Hello ctokarek and caliyah - welcome!
I know I'm a a bit away from onederland yet, but I tried on a dress tonight that I haven't been able to get into for AGES - and it fitted even better than it used to!
I wore it to the cinema to celebrate
Woohoo! It's definitely motivation to keep on track!
beescwee - Congrats on the dress, I bet it looked awesome!!
I weighed in today at 209.0 -- I can't remember the last time I was in the single digit 200s, and I feel SO close to onederland I can taste it!! I hope that thanksgiving and my birthday followed closely after doesn't completely get me off track of my onederland goal.
this morning i weighed in at 198.1 lbs. this is the first time my scale has read under 200 lbs in years. my 24th birthday was last week and i've decided by my 25th i will be at my goal and happily maintaining.
to all of those who weigh themselves every morning, you, my dear friends, are MARRIED to the scale! get a divorce! my nutritionist recommends we weigh ourselves once a week as weight can fluctuate as much as 2lbs a day...depending on liquids and foods we consume each day. so yes, I may be down to 198 today and tomorrow be at 201 when I weigh in BUT i weigh in weekly on monday mornings at class. so that's the weight we go with!
i'm so happy to see everyones progress! congrats to all for getting on the road to goal! i haven't been on here in a while, working out a lot, researching nutrition, getting ready for my big trip to LA for the biggest loser finale to support my friend RUDY! gotta look good for Jillian and Bob!!!! i'm hoping to be at 180 for the finale. that's another 15 to go. we'll see if i can pull it off!
30 ds looks a LITTLE too intense for me but i might give it a shot. anyone see results with that program?
k8zilla - congrats on onederland! I've been doing 30ds and I *love* it. I can see definition in my arms and my waistline is shrinking and oddly enough starting to form that hour-glass shape that I never thought was possible on my body. It's intense, but so worth it.
well i was on day 10 od phase 2 of the 30 DS, but at the zoo on saturday i sprained my ankle, so Im trying to modify my fitness and just watching what Im eating!! Im don 2 ounds from Saturday so it seems to be working!!
I MADE IT TO ONEDERLAND TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been seeing it on the scale in the mornings but I dont count it until WW makes it official. I'm so ecstatic!
I actually remember when I first made it into the 200s. It was the beginning of the 9th grade (sigh). I had actually been doing Weight Watchers and had lost about 25 pounds. Then my mum and I moved and I slowly gained it back over the course of a few months--not eating outrageously...but just not being particularly careful. The next weight I remember is 211. The next one after that 245...That happened after I injured my knee playing basketball. I gained LOTS of weight. During my freshman year of college, I unusually lost weight. I got down to about where I am now, 230 (there's no scale in the house...so I'm just guessing...and hoping it's still around there).
Anyway, now I just simply cannot weight to be under 200 again. I think it will bring me a feeling of normalcy that I really crave revolving around my weight.
thank you all!!!! hope everyone had the best thanksgiving with LOTS of veggies!!!!
Boobsnotbombs! have you ever tried a low GI (glycemic index) based diet? I've tried them all, i swear, and WW, jenny craig all of those programs worked for me for like a month maybe a little more and then the weight would come back on and i'd get discouraged and give up. alot has happened in my life over these last few months and i've decided that it's time to focus on myself for once. I started with the Transitions Lifestyles System on September 14th and have lost around 27lbs since then consistently. It's the only thing that has worked for me and NOT let me backslide. Its a LIFESTYLE not a diet so its teaching me what i can and shouldnt eat and WHY eating foods that we all think are "healthy" might not be the best choice. ANYWAY, it works, and It's helped me to get to the low 200's and now 198... I really think its worth checking out... eating low glycemic really has alot of benifits and its SO EASY. just makes you aware of how sugar really hinders weight loss.
if you have knee or back pain i HIGHLY suggest everyone tries out WATER AEROBICS most YMCAs have it and its around $5 a class or a cheap membership. its NO impact because your in the water and its given me the BEST hardest full body work out of my life. you don't realize how much work your doing in the water until your body shows you how hard you worked the next day! but i love feeling that burn to know i did something positive.
if you want more info send me a PM and i'll send you along the packet i've been working on for friends. my mother has been doing this program through what I've learned and has also lost 20lbs.
I don't think that I can PM yet, as I have not been a member yet for enough day. But when I can, I most certainly will! In the mean time, I'll do some Google research of the stuff you've mentioned.
