Well, everyone is making some progress. I can not WAIT to get out of these 170s. I thought the 180s were hard. so I am on a low carb day hoping for a whoosh tomorrow!

Hey ladies! I joined this board a couple of months ago but didn't really bother to keep up with it, but I've been lurking again and I love the idea of these threads for every ten pounds. Something about a group that's seeing the same numbers as you, I guess? I've been bouncing between 174 and 172 for the last week or so... so close and yet so far, blerg. I'm so ready to be in the 160s!

well, I didn't weigh today at normal time. I just weighed right now. And it said 173.2, so I am hopeful I might be 171.? tomorrow. Oh yeah. I technically won't be in my 20s anymore after tomorrow but I would like to ride out the 170s here if that is ok?

Hey Ladies!

So last month I did get down to 168 for about a day lol but then I went home for a couple of weeks and everything just went to ****! I was on super vacation mode and it didn't help that everyone kept telling me how good I looked seeing as how it'd been about 2 months and nearly 20 pounds since they'd seen me before. Well it took me about a week to get back into my routine, but I'm so glad I'm finally back on plan. It just sucks to have missed out on 3 WHOLE weeks of losing weight...ugh

I think I was up and down between 10lbs during that time( it's crazy how much water weight we can retain) and now I'm finally back to 170.something so I'm really hoping that by weigh in on Monday I'm back to the 160's

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

I'm at about 175. My worst was 189, but I didn't stay at that weight for long. The skinniest I've ever been was 145, and I felt noticeably thinner.. it was great!

I'm trying out the Atkins diet (day 2 right now) and it's very restrictive, but very doable for me. My thought is, "Would you trade 6 months without eating carbs for the body you want?" **** yes I would!

So I don't know much about Atkins but when they say no carbs do they really mean NO carbs? Because that would be horrible for the body...carbs are our main fuel source with out them the body turns to other sources such as muscle...no bueno.

oh boy... atkins is HORRIBLE for your body. check out the book called EAT TO LIVE by Dr. Fuhrman. Though restrictive, it is HEALTHY and it explains why things like South Beach and Atkins are NOT the way to go for weight loss. It makes perfect sense- check the book out if you hope to actually keep off the weight you lose

Girls! I have been MIA for awhile, huh! Well. I'm ashamed because I'm up some lbs, but I am reading Eat to Live and realizing where I'm making my mistakes. I'm trying to incorporate more nutrient dense foods in my diet rather than empty calories. I'm trying to eat a TON more veggies (hard for me!) and more fruit (not as hard) and cut out fruit juice (tons more calories per serving than the actual fruit, and no fiber to help your bodies absorption = not so good for you.) I've learned so much from this book and I feel like- FINALLY i get it! this is a for real LIFESTYLE and i can totally live it. it's realistic. i can eat a piece of toast if i want to, just can't eat 5. i can have a little meat if i want to, it is just healthy eating and it's so well explained. i love it. i'll keep you posted on my progress girlies! keep up the good work everyone!

Anyone mind if I join as well? I have been hovering around 175 for too long and would like to be in the 160's by the end of September.

Happy Belated B-Day Jendiet! Sorry about the migraine.

My advice to you is to find a plan right now that you can do for the rest of your life, not just for 6 months. Not only will that make maintenance so much easier, but our brains, as well as our bodies, need carbohydrates for fuel.

I try to eat about 30% (healthy) fats-30% protein-40% carbs daily. You don't need to eliminate or severely restrict carbs in order to lose weight and it is not healthy in my opinion.
