Shantroy - don't you just hate it? I walk by a Brooks Brothers store every morning on my way to work. The clothes on display are like a WASP fantasy for someone 5'3" with straight hips and chests that would NEVER cause the buttons to gap (I also picture her having a slight tan, faded blond hair and grey eyes, but then, sometimes my imagination runs away with me).
I'm 5'5.5" (went to the doctor last week and said 5'6" when asked, she measured and corrected me... ). As of this morning I weigh 128.3.
Tops - medium in most, a couple of smalls lately.
Pants - 8 I think? Most I own are 10 and are pretty loose, I have on a pair of jeans that are a loose 8 today, but I have a pair of 12 shorts that still fit fine...
Dresses - I have two dresses that are 10s that still fit me just fine - a little loose on top, but zip well on the hips.
what an interesting thread! I'm 5'4 (if you round up a little haha) and currently 139lbs. My size 8 jeans are a bit loose but my 6s are still a bit snug and give me a muffin top. I'm wearing a pair of black jeans in juniors size 7 right now which I haven't fit into in a while and they seem to be the perfect size!
In shirts I wear a medium/small, depending on the shoulders since the width of my shoulders rival Michael Phelps's (haha ok, maybe that was an exaggeration, but they are broad for a woman).
My boobs are disappearing a bit which I'm upset about because I don't have much to spare in that department! I'm scared to actually get measured for a bra because I've always convinced myself I'm a 34B and I'm pretty sure if I got measured they'd tell me I'm a 36A. But just like being unwilling to buy a large size because of the number on the tag, I'm unwilling to buy a smaller cup size and larger band size because of the number! lol
I'm 5'5"ish. My weight has been fluctuating like crazy between 208-212. I'm currently about a size 16 in the bottoms - I could probably be a 14 in the waist except for the wide load brinning up the rear. I'm an xl/xxl (depending on the shirt/store) because of the dd girls. I wouldn't mind having them go away just a little. A C-D would be nice. I just want to wear buttond down shirts again!! I also carry a lot of my weight in my upper back, which is not pretty nor does it help any!
Today I put on my size 16 jeans and they were pretty lose. Granted, I had worn them once earlier in the week and they are stretchy, but I also had to tighten the belt one more notch! I also am totally PMSing, (I'm currently on yaz, so there's not as much water weight or bloating, but still some) so I can't wait to see how things go after TOM is over. We will see....
Silverstar, we don't have brooks brother's up here, but I have an addiction to Banana Republic and it's the same sort of person in my head too. I'm a totally preppy at heart and I love the way blouses look, with kakhai's and jeans and just about every other pant in general. However, they don't look so classy when I'm about 3 seconds away for blinding my client with a button turned missile!
I'm 5'9.5" and I weigh 161.8 lbs. I'm now probably a size 11 because 12 is too big and 10 is pretty tight....though some 10's I can wear and some don't even go over my thighs. I'm hoping that by the time I reach my goal, I'll be a size 8.
WOW, this is such an interesting thread. I can't believe that people of such different weights and heights can be the same size, or that people of similar weights/heights can be such different sizes! What an eye-opener.
For me, I am about 5'8" and currently 239 lbs. I haven't checked my pants size yet (I only started my weight loss about a month ago), but the size-18s I wore at the start are all very loose--one particularly stretchy pair almost falls off of me! Hehe. I would guess that I am a snug 16 right now. I really want to go pants shopping to find out!
I'm a bit smaller on top, and usually wear an XL with little variance from store to store, heh, though recently I've managed to fit into an L here and there. At places like Avenue and LB I get the 14/16 (which is the smallest size they have, right? I can't remember), but I'm getting to the point where some of those are too large. I might have to start shopping at normal stores now! Lol.
5'8" and i'm 145lbs when I weighed myself this afternoon.
I can wear a size 28 in Denim For Immortality jeans, which I think is a size 6/8-ish. I just bought suits and got them all in an 8 and they fit a little looser and more casually like I like them, but I could fit the size 6 just fine.
In shirts I wear a medium, and if it's button-up I have to get it in a size 10 or my boobs will NOT fit. It's either walk around porno librarian style with the shirt undone on the first three buttons and wear a fashionable bra for show, or buy it way too big and put shaping darts in the front and back. It keeps the 13 year old boys from bra diving...
The thing that doesn't make sense is that i've got @$$ like a rap video chick to go with the 'tig ol' bitties' and I never seem to have the same trouble with trousers. Or maybe I just don't notice the way they squeeze my butt anymore since 99% of pants are made with some sort of stretch nowadays? Or maybe i'm just filling in the allotted hip space in the pants with the bubble butt instead and so it all works out??? ****, I don't know.
