I live in washington state so I think I'll head for Cancun, Mexico and see where to go from there. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wooo hooo you do the west coast and I'll do the east. I'm trying to decide if I want to start blogging about my virtual journey. I am not sure if I will get any exercise in today before I go to the parade tonight. Right now I have 2 little boys on my sofa with the tummy bug... really hoping they are better tonight, not sure what we will do if they aren't all of my kids are in the parade for one thing or another and this parade is a HUGE event in our town. Like we are talking sitting there watching for 2-3 hours (4 or so if you count holding your spot to see it).

Got my 2mi WATP video in, soon going to have to bump up to 3 miles in order to complete my virtual journey. I am 4 miles from home now. I'm still in an area I know well

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies!

I'm not sure how far we walked last night. I should drive it all tonight to see how long the parade route is. My guess is 2 miles or such plus walking around town before it. I would estimate that I walked probably 4 miles or such last night all together, and was on my feet from 4:30 until 9:30.

This morning I did the 2mi WATP and since the kids were still asleep I put on the 1 mile. I'm going to count the 4 I am assuming from last night plus this morning's 3 and mark my virtual road trip at 11 miles from home. I need to look but I think I am almost to Elysburg PA. There is a great amusement park in Elysburg. www.knoebels.com. If you are ever in the area it is lots of fun and way more affordable than any other park I know of. Full of free shows and such.

ETA The first white dot is where I am http://goo.gl/maps/qdzdk I have just passed the innersection where I would have turned to go to the park.

ETA I changed my directions some. I want to walk through Centraila. If you have never heard of it, it's a place to look up. There is a huge fire burning under the ground there in a vein of coal. It has been burning for years and years now. There are very few homes left there, I think maybe 3. The people are proud to call it home, and won't leave. I should be there in a few days. http://goo.gl/maps/WtEmo

I'm so not ready for Sandy. We need to clean up the yard tomorrow morning I guess make sure things are away for the winter. Last year our area saw HORRIBLE flooding (we are right on the Susquehanna River). My home town is still in a horrible messy state. My friends are all in a panic. One started moving furniture from her newly remodeled home (they lost almost everything last September) last night. I live up high on a mountain.. which means we stay nice and dry, but it also means we get hit with the winds hard.

Have a great day Joy

How's everyone doing with their workouts? I'm so happy...I just counted and I have walked 77.5 miles so far this month! Strength training is kicking my behind, but I am seeing results so I have to keep pushing!

today was pretty good. burned almost 3000 calories in my 3 hr workout. I have to make the most of the next 3 days so I can complete my Oct goals proudly. I only have 2 hrs to go to meet the goal of 75 hours of cardio. but the goal of 200 miles? Sheesh, I'm coming up 30 short as of right now. I'll have to do 10 miles a day to meet it. Machines count, so I'll have to do 2 hrs of machines each day. Also I have to burn 3253 calories each day to meet the calorie goal. We'll see how it goes. I'm really excited to take end-of-the-month measurements!

I didn't do much over the weekend, my back was feeling better then boom it hit me like a sledge hammer again. I did spend most of the weekend getting ready for Hurricane Sandy. We are in the direct path, our house sits on top of a mountain (like the very top ) and is open to all the wrath of the wind which they are saying will be 75mph. They are predicting major power outages most likely lasting 7-10 days. I'm just worried we don't get blown off the mountain. Our area was horribly devistated by flooding last September and some flooding is a possibility again now, so I'm concerned for friends.

I want to try to get my workout in yet this morning. My back still hurts and I still have some preparations to take care of (like making sure I have totes handy in case we decide we need to move our bodies into the basement.. which we have no interior stairway for since it was an afterthought on my inlaws part when they put the house in). We'll see what happens.

findingfawn- praying for you and all the eastcoasters. We don't get hurricanes here. it sounds awful. I had to read your post twice because I thought it said you have bodies in your basement under the stairs. I know it's not a funny topic but that was how I read it. Sorry, just tired.

today I worked out 4 hours. burned 4184 calories. did 13 miles today. I'm ready for bed. Nite, y'all.

oh ya, a lady was mean to me today at the Y but I stood up to her and I'm proud of myself. Don't know why some people want to cut others down. But I let her know its not ok and I think she felt about an inch tall and will think twice next time she feels like making rude comments to someone just because they are overweight.

Made it through with little to no damage. Glad to here you were spared as well Joy. We really thought it would be way worse.

My lower back is still killing me. I think it's just going to be a simple walk on the treadmill kind of week.
