gifts from the bridal shower... the order i opened them

from MIL2 (curtis' stepmom) and Gma Svenn, i got a set of hot pink and black tools, and a women's prayer book.

then they left and i opened one from a friend of my mom's, an honorary aunt if you will, she had it tied with multiple difficult ribbons. inside was: a pack of amp energy drinks for the wedding night, a gift card to applebees, and $75 in visa gift cards.

after that i opened the one from another honorary aunt, and it was a gift certificate to a spa for a massage and mani/pedi.

then i opened mom's gifts... from mom i got a gorgeous photo album for my wedding photos, two books, one titled "great sex" the other "the art of sensual massage" (i love my mom haha), as well as a certificate stating that i do not have to pay rent (the parents are the landlords) for the summer after i'm married and before i move.

from MIL1 (curtis' mom) and his sister i got bride/groom travel mugs w/ lids that keep drinks hot or cold, as well as a stove top popcorn popper, and 4 big plastic popcorn cups

Mandy -- What cool and clever gifts! I was thinking you might already have a lot of household things, so how great to get stuff you can use. Good thing you got the sex book so you'll know what to do and I love the energy drinks! Free rent is always a nice one too!

April 30: 251.0

1: 251.6 (damnit! 0.6 gained? Went for a 6 km hike yesterday burning 2731 calories and only ate 1400-1500 calories that day. I'm hoping it's just retention caused by dehydration b/c I didn't pack enough water, and because TOM is approaching. We'll see what it is tomorrow. I think I should step it up with the exercise now that I'm heading into my 3rd week.)

I posted this on the accountability thread but I wanted to be accountable here too. Hope it's ok ...

Breakfast supposed to add peanut butter to this but the taste is overwhelming and berries (I know the strawberry yogurt isn't the same)
smoothie = light vanilla ice cream, light strawberry & peach yogurt, almond milk and vanilla whey protein powder, low sodium V8

Lunch
tuna w/light mayo and relish and 4 saltines, whole wheat sandwich thin w/cinnamon, and brussel sprouts

Snack
medium red apple and later a bag of honey cashews

Dinner
salmon, green beans, 1/2 biscuit and a little baked potato w/spray butter

Today's calories 1556 maybe a little more
86ozs of water
exercise treadmill 18:46 minutes, 1 mile burned 126 calories

not the greatest but better than I've been

Good night everyone for great weigh-ins for us all

Weigh-in was 230.2 this morning. Hoping to break back into the 20s for good this week...I don't ever want to see these 230s EVER AGAIN, lol.

Bulletproof - Happy Birthday!

Love2b - Thank you for the kind words.

Kukkie - I imagine you're right that it was just the drinks. Water should help, and it'll come right back down.

JamieSue - Congrats on completing your Half Marathon miles!

Diana, Ona, Angie, FitGirly, Gale, and SwimGirl - Hey ladies!

And, hello to everyone else, too! There's a lot of new faces, er...names? lol...on these monthly threads since the beginning of last month. That's great! This is always such a good group of people.

I was gone for most of last month (though I still tracked) so I'm glad to be back and chat with all of the regulars and meet the new folks!

I'm up slightly from my last weigh in, but I was out of town this weekend and sick to boot, so I didn't get any exercise in...AND we had a 85th birthday party to attend!

I am a little bummed because I was hoping to reach my goal weight by my 1 year anniversary of my weight loss (May 8) and as I got closer to that date and realized that I wouldn't reach my goal, I felt down. Which was RIDICULOUS! How could I not celebrate how far I've come? How could I be depressed that I didn't lose 127lbs in a year when I *have* lost 119lbs!? So I decided just to not be upset about it - celebrate the 1 year mark and move forward. I'm looking to the future, and deciding where my new goal weight will settle - 175lbs just marks my venture into 'overweight' and I know I want to go a little further, but just haven't decided how much.

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the group, Chantelle.
Welcome back, Gale.
Bulletproof - Congratulations on fitting into smaller jeans!
JamiSue - Congratulations on completing your 1/2 marathon!
Angie- I love Cameron's comment! My girls would think it was a nightmare if we lost the internet.
Reptogirl- Hang in there! Hope life settles down soon.
Mandy - Those are wonderful gifts!
Diana - Hope you work week is good despite the busy-ness. Oh, and this is the one I have http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-Mast...Maker/14895654 There are different levels of Ninja This is the basic one that I use for my protein shakes with ice. Crushes and blends the ice with ease.

The scales went back up by .6 today. I have no idea why. Fickle scales!

Today, I have a dental appointment to have to fillings replaced. I really, really don't like going to the dentist! Hopefully, all goes well and I'll make it to Zumba this evening.

I made the decision to go off Medifast. I have 8 days of food left. This plan does cost quite a bit each month and I wanted to make a donation for relief to the tornado victims. I originally started this plan to give myself a kickstart and it did do that. I'm now detoxed off the sugar and eating on a schedule. I'm planning to transition to a combination of Southbeach and calorie counting. I must confess....I'm terrified that my weight loss will stop or will slow down to almost nothing! I'll be researching some meals and snacks that I want to use as my go-to meals for the first few weeks. I'm going to try to make the transition as easy as possible!

Have a great on-plan day.

I am on a combination of Southbeach and Weightwatcher's and it is working for me. I am losing around 2 lbs a week. I was just on Southbeach (you don't count calories or points on Southbeach) and I hit a plateau for like a month so I realized I needed to be more accountable as to how many calories I was eating. Since I find counting calories to be difficult, I am using Weightwatcher's online and counting points instead. I like their tools and its a good daily diary for me to be accountable and stick to my food plan.

Did you like the Medifast? I was afraid that I would get sick of the shakes pretty quickly, so I never tried it.
