Congrats to everyone

Volleyballsis, hang in there. I'm going to soak in a tub with bubbles, candles and soft music, my muscles are aching today . . .

I also ordered the Zumba DVD's does anyone do that???? I've been watching clips on Youtube and I'm so excited to try them

Everyone hang in there, 15 more weeks . . .

akacutie 01-10-2011 10:23 PM

Zumba... That sounds cool Madam... I haven't ever done it, but heard good things from others....

I have finally discovered Spin class at my gym... i LOVE it! My husband has been coming with me and he was quite surprised at how awesome the work out is! :)

I have been doing well with eating and exercise... I am back on track after the holidays! :)

How is everyone else in the challenge doing? Check in!

kaebaka 01-11-2011 02:32 PM

I managed not to get too derailed by the holidays, only delayed by 1 pound from where I'd ideally like to be on my official weigh-in days, although it looks like I'm almost completely back on track based on all of the weights from my non-official days (of course it was higher on challenge weigh in day, lol). Today the scale was down another 1.5 from Sunday's weigh in, so I'm pretty sure that I'll be on track for next week's weigh in. I'm feeling great about this challenge!

I have been using my school's gym as much as possible, about 4 days a week and working out for about 1.5 hours each trip. I think I am more excited about being able to tell the difference in my fitness / activity level than the progress on the scales! I am working my way through C25K now that I've finally worked my way through starting the program. I've been doing about 30 minutes on the treadmill, some weight training, 30 minutes on a seated elliptical, and a friend just showed me how to use the rowing machines. I've never in my life felt so happy and energized after exercising as I have lately. :D

Now that the undergrads are back and the group fitness classes are starting up again, maybe I'll even check them out. I'm pretty sure we have at least one zumba class. I wonder if dance fitness classes work for someone who has absolutely no rhythm?? Maybe it would help me learn some coordination on my feet to put into actual dancing efforts in the future. :p

Can I join in late? I just joined the website/forums a few days ago and have been searching around for some goals to keep me motivated. This one seems perfect!

Easter is the end of the semester (and my entire degree!) for me and the week my thesis is due, so this will be incentive not to let stress derail me from my progress!

SW: 277.2 (But today is 272!)
GW: By Easter, 237.2! (It might be a TAD bit of a long shot, but I think the first 10-15 pounds should be fast so I'll give it a try!)

01/09 - 275.6 (38.4 to go!)
01/16 - 270.0 (I was 265 yesterday but had a bit too much fun last night, I believe...)
01/23 - 268 (TOM = slower weight loss than I would like! But hey, at least the scale's going in the right direction overall!)
01/30 - 266.2 (I was 256.4 last night before bed... where do the 10 pounds come from!?!?!?)
02/06 - 267.2 (VERY bad week mentally, hope to get back on track this week! Just happy it's ONLY one more pound!)

Well, poo --- I am going the wrong darn direction! I'm supposed to be evicting pounds, not inviting new ones home for dinner! Looks like I better run a tighter ship this coming week.

Still no Zumba, MadamButterfly? Drat --- I have heard good things about it and was looking forward to your expert evaluation. Still, you obviously have found plenty of good things to keep you busy -- and to chase away those evil pounds....

And AkaCutie -- how cool that you are taking your husband out for a spin. What? OHHHhhhhhhh ... you are taking a spin class with your husband. That isn't COMPLETELY different than what I had imagined.... ;)

Wow, Kaebaka --- you are hitting it hard and hitting it often. Kudos to you for both the intensity and the variety of your workouts. And I bet if you stick out the dance-like class just 2 times, you will discover that you really do have rhythm and that you really enjoy the class.

Hey, Patrizia! Did you get the thesis turned in? What degree are you in? Nothing like a little spring stress to keep you motivated, hmmm? Good for you for keeping your priorities clear when there must be some serious demands on your time!

You can't fool us, Rosinante --- we know you are working hard. All we have to do is look at your amazing progress. So, if you should happen to look over your shoulder and see a rather rotund conga line exercising behind you, don't worry --- it's just your loyal little egg-sters following your lead. You go, girl!

Starbrite, you are really making this Easter challenge work! I guess that's why you ALSO have such an amazing record of loss. I have no doubt at all that you are going to be at goal when Easter rolls around. Kudos!

Aasshhlleeyy --- welcome to the challenge!

JAN 08: 255.5
JAN 16: 258
