I've just got through a week of PMT without veering off plan at all. I usually spend a couple of days ravenous for, and indulging in, chocolate and crisps (chips). I did get a mini case of the munchies, but managed to conquer that with a small handful of nuts.

Saturday we took the kids to a museum. We were walking/standing around there for at least 6 hours, including some minor hill-walking to and from the car. I survived it, and though my feet hurt, really I had no other complaints. I had good energy and a good attitude, I kept to my healthy eating and fed my family healthfully (brought a lunch for us) and it was just a really awesome day. I couldn't have done it so successfully 6 months ago.

My husband commented this weekend that when he hugs me now, he can feel my boobs against him again, and he likes that (Before, my stomach and his too were in the way of us being that close!)

My husband has also now lost about 40 pounds, simply due to how I've changed my diet and asked him to change too. (No sugar, no refined carbs.)

ALSO he FINALLY said he can see my weight loss--in my face.

And I can see my husband's weight loss in his face and belly. He looks younger and more healthy. I'm nearly as proud of his weight loss as I am of my own.

Kim, do you punch holes in your belts? I had to punch maybe 22 holes in my old work belt before I got a new one...it went almost all the way around my waist twice!

Prior to changing the way I eat, when I had baking cravings (where I really want to bake and then eat a particular thing), it would always be for something like brownies. So I'd make a batch and eat a quarter or half of them.

The other evening I had a baking craving. And what I wanted was to make cranberry-orange muffins. So I went and bought fresh cranberries and oranges, then made some seriously delicious (sugar-free, whole-grain) cranberry-orange-cinnamon muffins. I ate two that evening, one yesterday, and one today. The rest have been eaten by my husband and oldest child, who also loved them. These muffins were sooooooooooooo healthy in comparison to the old box of brownies. And I was really moderate in eating them...even though when they first came out of the oven I really wanted to eat a lot more than just two. (My husband confessed he also wanted to eat much more, but we were both moderate instead!)

That's a pretty big change for me.

My other current NSV is also kind of a scale victory...as of today I officially have fewer than 100 pounds left to lose. Woohoo!

For a splurgey birthday treat my husband gave me $100.00 and instructed me to blow it all at once on something silly I never could have had a year ago (at my heaviest), just for kicks.

I headed to the mall today and decided on an Ed Hardy belt, which followed his instructions precisely. I've never bought something so frivolous for so much.

A belt! Sized medium! I lovelovelove it. Thanks hubby.

^Ooooh, what a nice gift! Hubby sounds like quite a guy!

My latest NSV is that I've noticed my size-16 jeans that I bought before starting school are getting awfully loose on me... It had been a while since I'd washed them, so I thought maybe they were stretched out, but even when I put them on fresh-out-of-the-dryer, they felt loose! I used my sewing machine to take in a few pairs of my old size-18s that had gotten HUGE on me, but it looks like I might be needing to take in the 16s, soon, too! Woo-hoo! I haven't tried on pants in a store for at least 1.5 months (and ~20 lbs ago), so I can't wait to go home for Thanksgiving so I can go shopping and see if I'm "officially" a size-14 yet... Hope so...

A couple of new ones for me:

This evening I did about 20 sit-ups...for the first time since high school, which is almost twenty years ago! I certainly would not have been able to to do those two years ago.

Last evening, I wrote the RCMP aptitude test, the first step towards becoming a Mountie! That in itself is one of my NSVs for November, but when I got to the police station, we all had to climb one-and-a-half staircases to get to the boardroom where the test was held. I moved up those stairs easily, where before I would have had to stop at the top of the stairs, holding on to the railing, catching my breath and unable to speak. Of course, I realize if I was the size I was two years ago, I wouldn't be at the police station to do the exam, unless it was for a civilian position.

I tried my prepregnancy jeans on & I'm only about 1.5" away from wearing them - for only 19 days pp I am happy with that!

My size 14 skirt is too big around the waist. It still fits in the hips, but I can't wear it with a top tucked in or it looks bad. I'm glad I had already bought a size 12. I really like the style of the size 14 skirt though, does anyone have an idea of how much it costs to have things altered? It is lined and has a waist band.

Ookpik~ I got a belt that has holes all the way around it, as I don't want to have to keep ordering belts.

Today I dropped my pen in class and I could bend over and pick it up without getting out of my chair. Usually my stomach would have gotten in the way.

Last year when we started our counseling practicum classes our professor told us to lean slightly forward to improve our non-verbal communication with clients. I physically couldn't do it because my stomach was in the way. I probably weighed close to 330 at that time.
