I got one side of the barn cleared and got the wt. bench set up. The recumbent bike goes in the loft so I can look out the door while I ride. I called my MD and asked for the medication to stop the irregular heart beats. Then I actually went to the pharm, picked up the prescription AND took a dose. I stayed between 1500-1800 cals.I ended up the the grocery store when I was hungry and resisted buying a multi-serving bakery product-cake and pies beware-and a spoon as supper for one-me:-)
I started on this weight loss journey nearly two years ago because I wanted to try out for the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police, for those non-Canadians). Since January 2007, I have lost over 100 pounds, gotten some muscle, and am now to the point where I have actually finally begun the applying process. I have the written test for the RCMP on Wednesday (wish me luck!), the first of many stages of the selection process. I am also applying to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, my province's police force. RCMP is my first choice though.
Ookpik... That's so cool! I'm so happy for you, you are seeing your dreams come true and you are making it happen! I think that is one of the greatest things about taking charge of the weight-the feeling of control over your life.
My nsv today is just feeling lighter. I can run across a street in heels when I need to and it doesn't feel horrible. I can fly up stairs now, I used to take one step at a time sometimes, because my knees hurt so bad. It's so wonderful to feel so much better!
Hey Ladies! I love this thread and never joined in before!
I have the following NSV's
1. took a like out of my watch
2. bought a size 16 no stretchy jacket!
3. I work in an office but next to our plant. I had to run through the plant to stop production on something. (I know, could be embarrassing) BUT it wasn't at all. Not only has that 10 min mile be paying off but I didn't feel self conscious at all.
4. I have now out grown all of my skinny jeans but my new size 16's and need new jeans!
5. And lost 24 inches in 3 months! That's two whole feet gone forever from my body!
Hi and on everyones NSV's. They are all so inspiring to read! My nsv's today have been that I signed up on fitday, I did 30 mins on my exercise bike (usually I can't hardly make it past 10 mins without getting discouraged and tired), and I made my short term goals for Nov.
Today we had plans with a local adoption group and I haven't seen most of the people in a couple months. I got so many compliments and encouraging remarks about my weight loss!
Another one that happened a few days ago....I was having lunch at work with one of my friends...we walked over to sit down in a booth. I always panic when I see booths because I worry I won't fit. I thought there was no way....what do you know!?!? I slipped right in comfortably!
When I went into work today, what did I see in the breakroom? Piles upon piles of pizza! I love pizza. Not only was there pizza, but that pizza was going to be there all day while I was working (12pm -- 9pm) because more was being brought in every 2 hours! Talk about temptation! But, I didn't have a single slice (or any of the desserts that were laying out too!) and instead, I ate my healthy dinner that I brought from home.
And, at the end of my shift, I went shopping and bought two new shirts...one in size L! Yay!
the other day, I went into the pantry, and pulled out a box of brownies to make, but then thought about the little weight loss ticker, and turned around and put it back and then made jello instead. That is a huge one for me!
I burned more than I ate-spend two days at home on pain meds after a MVA,not strenuous activity, lots of walking. I think that movement kept me for being in more pain.
Ookpik-congrats on your victory!
