A lower calorie burn today, but I was able to do most of the poses without falling on my face, so there's that.

On my walk yesterday, I got to be a hero to a family with a lost beagle. He wouldn't come to me (even with the treat they gave me to lure him in if I saw him), but I reported the location back to the family and they went right over and picked him up! Walking turned out to be a much more effective way to search for a lost dog -- they were zipping around the neighborhood in vehicles and would never have spotted him at the back of driveway.

nonameslob: yep, we've had lots of rain. I've only watered a couple of times this year -- Mother Nature did the rest! I have tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, lettuce (until it gets hot -- we can't grow lettuce here in the heat of the summer), kale, chard, and a bunch of herbs. We're already eating lettuce and kale. I saw my first tomato, yesterday!

June goal: 1300 min, 21x 8K steps, 8x Strength Training

1: 40 walk; 40/1300, 1/21 8K
2: 30 walk; 70/1300, 2/21 8K

Joy: Hey, nothing like being a doggie hero while getting some exercise! I was on my way to work out one day and a vets clinic had a couple of dogs get lose and were in the middle of 5 o'clock traffic crossing 6 lanes of traffic on the road. Luckly me and the lady in front of me got them in our cars and drove them over to the clinic so kudos to the animal lovers and savers! High Five!

Full Workout is 10 min treadmill warmup, 3 rounds on weight machines (takes about 30 min), 12 minutes on treadmill again and 20-25 min on elliptical machine.

June 10: Today was a bit of a nightmare. I tried to take a yoga class for the first time and it didn't go to well. I am just too heavy for it. For more details you can read my blog posting on my blog site. The link is in my sig line.

Joy - So awesome you were able to help find that pup! It is an awful feeling to have your dog run away and I am sure they were eternally grateful. Your garden sounds lovely. I'm sticking to a few herbs this year since we anticipate moving. Kind of enjoying not worrying about watering my garden every day.

JenDestiny - So sorry you had such an awful yoga experience I have never done yoga, but my friend goes to a class that is strictly for beginners who may need assistance. There are a variety of tools they use to help people with all body shapes and abilities get into certain poses (a yoga block I think is one of them?) Keep that in mind if you ever decide to try it again, though I can understand you being put off for a while! I guess not every beginner's class is quite on the same level. What an awful experience that must have been for you *hugs*

6/3: Run, 2.52/40 miles
6/4: 2.54 mile run = 5.06/40 miles
6/6: 2.52 mile run = 7.58/40 miles
6/7: 4.06 mile run = 11.64/40 miles
6/8: Week 2 plan, 2.46 mile HIIT run, = 14.1/40 miles
6/10: 2/5 ST, 1 mile run = 15.1/ 40 miles
6/11: 2.8 mile run = 17.9/40 miles

Almost halfway! Going camping this weekend. I am going to attempt a trail run at the park Saturday morning while the rest of my group participates in a bike tour (boyfriend is doing 50 miles!) and then there's an after party

JenDestiny: I did better with yoga using DVDs. It kept me from being stupid in order to please an instructor or do what everyone else seemed to be doing with ease. Let me know if you want some titles!
