Hope everyone has a great evening. Lots of stuff on tv to watch. I will check in tommorow.

03-11-2004, 11:02 PM
Oh I forgot it is tv night for everyone with all the reality shows!

I have never watched any of 'em so I don't know what goes on each of them. Hope everyone has a great night! Penny

03-11-2004, 11:23 PM
Penny, the only thing I watch faithfully is ER but it is not on tonight. I did watch the makeover shows and they were pretty good. I sure could use an extreme makeover!!! I had avocado and cracker for dinner. Not too hungry but had to eat something so I could take my pills. Hope everyone has a good night. I'm off to bed!

03-12-2004, 12:14 AM
Hi everyone!

Boy what a chat session we had at 2 today....I was on for an hour ... the kiddies got restless towards the end...but it sure was great having so many of you show up to chat. It was really fun.

Had the munchies tonight...didn't do too much damage but I fear TOM is on his way early maybe?? Shouldn't be here til the 23rd...maybe it was something else. Must stop it now!! I will.

I decided I don't like Troy on the Apprentice ... worm! Colby got voted out on Survivor...oh well, that's what happens when you don't pay attention. At least he had a great attitude about it.

Nothing new for me tonight...nice pic Penny!

Hope everyone had a great OP day! Sorry to not get personal but the boys had me up early and they went down early so probably another early day tomorrow.

Talk to you tomorrow (BTW it's darned cold here tonight...wind chill down in the single it January again??) BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

03-12-2004, 08:45 AM
Good Morning Ladies!

Hope everyone has a TGI FRIDAY!!!! Day ;)

It is lent so no meat again for me today!

I hope everyone has a great day :)

I will check back in later after I bring Hunter to school and get a work out in.

03-12-2004, 10:24 AM
Good morning all!!
Well WI results... I'm up 1/2 a lb. But I think that is good since TOM should strike today. I know it's not because of being off plan, because I've been great all week. So next week I should see a really good loss and no more bloating ,lol. :)
Penny, enjoy your meatless day!! What will you be eating instead? Ever try those veggie products that taste like meat?
Geri, I agree about the chat session yesterday, it was so much fun! At some moments I had to cover my mouth to keep from laughing out loud! (Tanner was sleeping in his playpen next to the computer desk in my room) I needed some good laughter though, it was great. :) I know for sure now that us SAHM's are the best group of women, ever!
I actually gave up CSI last night to watch the apprentice. I liked Heidi, didn't want to see her go. I don't know if I like Troy for sure or not. But I do really like Nick and that is who I am routing for to win. Who do you want to win Geri?
Candy, I did watch pieces of that extreme makeover home one, did you catch that one? It might have been a re-run. I would sure love someone to remodle my house. That house was HUGE. For what they spent re-doing that house they could have knocked mine down and started from scratch and still have money left over, lol. Maybe I should apply for that show, lol. Would be awesome.
Ricci, thanks for starting the new thread. And I've been thinking alot about joplin lately. Do you go there often?? I really would love to meet you! I could get my SIL to babysit and we could meet for lunch or something. Would be lots of fun. :^: Let me know what you think, ok?
Oh I did catch the part on extreme makeover last night (the regular one) about buying jeans and butt size, lol. I didn't know that if you have a big butt you should buy jeans with big pockets, or to buy with high waist so it slims the butt and makes it look lifted. Very interesting. I don't think my butt is big but I have those childbearing hips that widen it, lol. So now I know how to shop for jeans!!! So I learned something useful from that show.
Well, today is my flexpoint day. I bought some frozen pizzas yesterday for either lunch or dinner tonight and will probably eat out once today, so I'm looking forward to it all.
Well the kids are starting to fight, must go referee!! TTYL!

03-12-2004, 11:24 AM
Oh, golly did everyone have to talk about TV today?????? :dizzy: I had a strange TV nite. Dh was watching something on TV in the new family room (he gets the big TV- not a plasma screen but I think 31" or something like that......) so I was upstairs watching who knows what when our totally stupid cat jumped on top of it......well- with the furniture move we never got the extra VCR put it used to sit atop the TV. RC (the cat) decided to jump off the VCR......knocked it back......which sent the TV sliding and crashing to the floor........ :( I thought for sure that the set was a gonner and my shot at ever watching a non sports program down the drain.
Unbelievable as it soundssss- with a cracked housing........(one whole corner of the plastic is badly broken) then set works!!!!!!! And I forgive the cat- not sure anyone else does though.

Ricci thanks for starting a new thread.
Spryng- we all have those weeks.......don't sweat the 1/2#- you have been doing great hang in there!!!! I have been fairly weight stable for months- with no big losses......this is a lifetime goal, right? Enjoy those flex points too!!!!
Penny- how are you going to get around a no meat day????? I go meatless a lot, and love it. I agree with Spryng that some of the soy meat replacements are great.
Geri- I enjoyed the chat too. Hey, did you send that cold air here????? It was warmer at 7 am than it is now at almost 10:30!!!!! Hope the boys are good to you today.....hear that Will and Tony? (now, howcome I can envision the mischief that they get into without knowing them?????)

Dd is home again......she is getting better, but just wiped out. I suppose she could have gone in to school, but I thought she was better off staying home.
So, no WW meeting of my schools has a 1/2 day, so I am off to pick up the kiddies again in 45 minutes. Dd will ride with me.
BTW, I heard that my bus was excellent for the sub driver (unheard of)- so all my work at keeping them in line paid off. They are getting twizzlers on the way home today for being good little critters..
Gotta go unload the dishes. Happy Friday!

03-12-2004, 12:11 PM
Lost my entire post. Caught you later. JW wants to play.

03-12-2004, 12:54 PM
Good morning everyone

Ginny, glad the TV still works!! Kitties are always into something hey? I used to have 2 but Dh is allergic and he and 1 of them clashed the end the kitty would poop or pee as soon as Dh walked in the door :( The other one was adorable, but when I was pregnant we decided to get rid of I don't want any animals...the kids and Dh are enough. So far Will and Tony are being pretty good...we need to go grocery shopping so we'll see how that goes ;)

Melinda, sorry you lost your post...have fun with JW!!

Spryng, great attitude about the WI...hope TOM comes and goes really soon. :^: I guess I vote for Nick to win..I don't really care I guess. There was something about Heidi that rubbed me the wrong way...maybe she reminded me of my old boss a little bit.

Penny I too don't eat meat on Friday's during lent...for dinner I think we're going to have spaghetti (whole wheat of course :D ) with shrimp in it....yummy. For lunch I'll have tuna...funny I used to hate I just chop up some celery and red onion and have it on toast sometimes with some cheese and I love it. Still can't eat those macaroni salads or cooked in casseroles.

Don't know if I'll get to chat today...depends how long of a nap Tony takes. Yesterday's was only an hour. After then we're off to the grocery store. We're almost out of fruit...some red grapes and 2 pears left and that's it. Got in my 3 mi walk this morning (thank you boys :D )so my exercise is in for the day. We have free starz this weekend and I see that Sweet Home Alabama is on tonight so after I put the boys to bed maybe I'll come down here to watch it so I don't gravitate towards the kitchen. I think I just need to find some other food to eat because I might be getting bored with the same old stuff. That may be why I had the munchies last I was searching for something. Oh well, today is a new day. :coffee:

OK, I have to balance the check book and some other stuff. I'll try to get to the chatroom later!

Bye....Oh, hi to everyone I didn't personally address...Candy, Andrea, Ricci...

03-12-2004, 01:35 PM
I need a :kickcan: I am up 2 pounds. I don't want a pep talk ladies. I need to get on program. I did get 5/7 workouts this week. That is what is making me so mad at myself. I have practically killed myself with these workouts, but I continue to overeat. I don't need the muscle weighs more than fat thing, b/c I don' t think that is the case. My sister is in town this weekend, so I am going to enjoy her visit and focus in on Sunday. I am going to continue the workouts, but use the reg points instead of the breastfeeding pts and see how that goes. There is an extra 10 points for bf, maybe I should just use 5 of them at first so my milk supply is not affected.

Since I am so sore with my workouts, I decided to walk with JW and the dog Bentley. He got so excited when I put my shoes on that I could not leave him at home. JW slept and Bentley would run, stop, poop, run, pee, etc. I walked for 45 min, I am thinking about 3 miles. I think I will map it with the car to see. With JW I have to stay pretty close to home, just in case, so I did not go my pre-preg route. Anyway, I would say I got a pretty good workout, despite the fact I wanted an easier one.

Ginny - Is the cat all right? I don't know much about cats, but at least no one got hurt. The only show my dh and I watch together is ER and the apprentice. He loves to watch the racing channel.

Spryng - I have not found a pair of jeans post-preg that I like. I have been wearing more slacks with the side zip so that it does not accentuate my mid, never was a problem before baby.

Penny - Good on the meatless Friday. I did not give anything up for Lent this year. Usually sweets. I feel out of synch with JW, we have not even been to Wed night services. He have changed our 11 sunday to 830 b/c it suits JW best.

Geri - Enjoy Sweet Home it is a great movie. We have it on DVD, still makes me cry. I am bored with the food thing too. I eat salads everyday for lunch and as a side for dinner. I am sick of tuna, but that is all that is in the house so I will probably make it with some eggs.

Oh and on hanging the clothes. My Dh said I was a fool. There is so much pollen in Chas right now, they would not even be fresh smelling. Maybe in the summer.

Thanks for listening gals. Don't need any excuses. I need to get myself in action.

03-12-2004, 01:43 PM
Melinda, are you eating too big of portions, eating the wrong foods, snacking at night or what? Which plan are you following? I think I remember you saying a modified south beach or something. Could it be too many carbs? No pep talk here...been there, done that & I know how you feel. :)
Good you got that walk in with JW. I think it really helps to get out and get some fresh air to help you clear your mind.
Enjoy your visit with your sister. Thanks for the kleenex tip for Alabama!! lol Try not to be too hard on yourself...that often makes things worse!

03-12-2004, 01:57 PM
I really think you will have an awesome weigh in for next week. You are doing so great! Keep it up!

I have not seen that movie so I might catch it too ;) I can't remember which plan you are on. But I have the same problem w/ eating after supper. I have been making ff sugar free jello and pudding for that exact thing. Let me know what you usually eat and I'll try to give you some new ideas :)

I am curious also. Are you getting in your water? I hear ya with being sick of salads tuna and Have you tried the whole wheat pitas? And I also found the canned chicken by Tyson and Swanson's. I haven't tried it yet but I will soon. I also found the Gourmayo . I use the Sundried Tomato. It is really good and the fat gram is 5 instead of 11g. I used to use Blue Plate until I found these. I gotta have my mayo! LOL Hope you find some new choices!

Have a great one,

03-12-2004, 02:32 PM
Geri - I am combining the South Beach and WW things I have. Definitely the carb and portion control. We eat wheat pasta and brown rice, but if you go over on the portion than it defeats the purpose. I am going to get my measuring cups back out. I thought I had a handle on it, but I need to be more aware. Actually I think one serving is the size that you scoop with your cooking utensil or maybe I bought ones that are the right sizes.

Penny - The water is not the problem. I drink a good gallon of water a day. Had tuna salad for lunch with some chicken noodle soup (Lipton). Soup seems to flush out fast. I was on a diet once with soup and salad for lunch for 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds. I think any change in your diet will make you lose weight the first two weeks. Back to the tuna, I just put egg and tuna in the salad with Light Done Right Thousand Island. Love mayo, but worried about pouring it on too much. I love anything sundried tomato. I use tuna in the can, but that is about it. I am sensitive to sodium in those kind of product. They probably make a low sodium chicken though. I was just telling my dh how I am craving some Louisiana crawfish. I had cravings during my entire preg, but they are hard to find in SC. Not preg for sure now. We do oysters here.

I have my notepad with me today and I am writing everything I put in my mouth. It should make me more accountable.

03-12-2004, 02:39 PM
Melinda ~
I wish you could jump, skip and hop over here!

My dad just came in and asked if we all wanted to go to a seafood buffet restaurant tonight
Crawfish are just coming into season.
So I will be eating the boiled crawfish, shrimp and probably a salad.
But plenty plenty of water to flush out all that salt!

I have high blood pressure so I know what you mean about the sodium intakes in those canned foods!

Hope you are doing better today:)

03-12-2004, 04:31 PM
Having a hard time connecting to chat. Just me or everyone else

03-12-2004, 04:36 PM
can't connect to chat either~

03-12-2004, 05:44 PM
Melinda- you stole my thunder!!!!! As I was reading your posts, the big question in my mind was if you were logging/journalling your food intake thru the day. That is such a biggie and so important. Also, it is a great idea to get out those measuring cups and use them. It is natural to get sloppy with portion control without checking up from time to time. Hang in there-you are doing fine- and way ahead of most of the world who is not even trying to reduce.

Penny- are you on meds for the BP or diet/excercise control? Enjoy that seafood buffet!

Geri- enjoy the movie!!!!!!! And good for you getting the 3 miles in. Bet that felt good. Hope that you got to the store- and that the boys were good. Oh, I used to go shopping really late at nite just for peace and quiet (who wants screaming kids in the store!).But then there are lots of times that shopping alone is not possible. It is even tough with teens.

Glad today is over- at least as far as school bus goes. My worst nightmare happened little boy (and somehow I have always known that this would happen with him!) puked on the bus this afternoon.......and I don't have to go any further to let you know who gets to clean that up. The mess was not all that awful.......I opened the windows immediately and the nice cold air helped immensely. Aw, sorry to gross you all out......I just had to vent. But I have survived it, the bus is disinfected and sleeping for the weekend. Be thankful for small blessings. On that happy note- I better get upstairs. Have a great weekend.

BTW- I figured noone would be there, but I could not get into the chat either.

03-12-2004, 05:45 PM
Sorry for being rude- Big hello to Ricci, Andrea, Spryng, Jackie, Michele - gee anyone else I missed?

03-12-2004, 06:34 PM
Hey all!! Ginny, so sorry about your putrid day :) That has got to be the worst. I am very familiar with cleaning up puke lately and it is not pretty!!! But with a bunch of other little kids there going, "ooooooh!" it just doesn't sound fun! Glad you got it all cleaned up and I hope you get some rest this weekend. How is dd doing? My ear is still completely clogged. I am beginning to get worried about hearing loss in that ear. Right now it is just constantly ringing and it is very frustrating! Anyhows, hope you all will be be well soon!!!

Melinda, LOVED the picture of JW sleeping. That is too cute!!! Have you considered having it sketched and framed? It reminded me of baby pictures you see for sell. You have a nice looking family! Is your hubby a Nascar fan? You mentioned the racing channel. If so, who does he like? My DH is Budweiser #8 all the way!!!

Spryng, I'm sure next week will be a big loss on the scale. I am up 2lbs this week?!? (Yep Melinda, Me too!!! :() Don't know what's up. I think TOM is coming but who knows. I thought it would be here today. Anyhows, hope you enjoy your pizza. That's what we are having for dinner too!

Geri, congrats on your have been on a roll!!! I haven't walked once this week but you sure keep me wanting to. Hope you got your shopping done. I'm on my way to do that in a bit.

Penny, seafood buffet sounds yum!!! We have one here but I've never been. We keep meaning ot check it out. I tried to chat today too and couldn't get on. Glad to know it wasn't just me.

Well, I'm single woman tonight. DH is at his pig contest. We are fixing to go to Sam's and we'll pick up a pizza while we are there. Then I'm going to clean and catch up on laundry and I might stop and get the kids a movie.
Hi Ricci and Andrea and anyone else I'm missing! Hope everyone has a great night!!!

03-12-2004, 07:56 PM
Hi all,

Candy, if I had your ear infection I wouldn't be walking either!! I'm happy with myself for the amount of exercise I am getting in. Hope you get unplugged soon!!

Ginny, sorry about the puker!! Gosh you have such a glamorous job sometimes  . It does have a good schedule! Yes I got to the grocery store and the boys were very, very good. I think aliens came and got my boys and left these 2 in their place because they have been pretty good all day! I do like to shop by myself but I either have to go at night or on the weekends...I would rather avoid the store on the weekend. :( Dh is bowling tonight so I had to go during the day. I really had to push myself to get that walk in today...didn't feel like it at all....but once I was done it felt really good as usual.

Melinda, I was going to suggest journaling your food too. I have been doing that every day along with my exercise. It's nice to look back at and if I get bored with my food I can look back for something I had but maybe forgot about!

Penny, I'm trying not to eat anything after dinner. I'm not hungry when I eat at night...bored I guess. If I stay down here in the basement (we have a nice rec room here) it doesn't bother that's where I should be at night!! :D I will settle in for the movie tonight. Hope you enjoyed the buffet.

Sorry you couldn't chat today. It was so much fun yesterday.

Spryng, hope you enjoyed your flexpoint day.

Andrea, are you out there lurking?? I miss you!! :( ;) Ricci, where are you??

Did I miss anyone, if so...sorry!! TTYL

Hi, everyone. I got in my weights work out today. My mom came over just because and we hung out for 3 hours. Spryng, we are in Joplin about once a month, or every other month. I will let you know next time we are there. My weigh in was down 2 lbs this week. I hope you all have a good evening. BTW, I couldn't get into chat today either. I think the service was down.

03-13-2004, 09:42 AM
Hello, ladies. I am about to pick up my sister and bil at airport. Probably won't be on much this weekend.

I had the funniest dream last night about our chat room. We were all in the chat with our dh. We all had video cams and were dancing and singing like crazy. Too much reality TV to think that we have cameras watching us everywhere. BTW, it was pretty cool. Have those video cam come down in price yet. I really haven't check it out. It would be neat to have a virutal chat.

It looks like we would have had a lot of chatters yesterday, too bad it was down.

Happy Weekend!

03-13-2004, 11:01 AM
Oh my gosh, Ricci---you had me hysterical! I actually showed it to Dd (17) who could appreciate it thourougly. (I can't spell today, sorry) What a hoot!!!!!! Thanks for leaving it. I am planning on attempting to copy it and send it to myself for safe keeping. Congrats on the 2# loss!!!!!

Melinda- hope your trip to the airport was a safe one. Gee your dream sounded like a fun dream about us????? If I was in it, more like a nightmare!

Candy- you crack me up- commenting that you were unable to workout this week, with as sick as you were. Relax with the ear- as badly infected as it was, it will take the fluid behind the ear quite a while to go away, and the ear drum to return to normal. If it was 2 weeks into treatment, then I would worry. But as badly infected as you were, it might be wise to go for a follow up visit to the Dr anyway. (Ds was a walking ear infection for 3 years.......learned a lot then)

Ger- Congrats!!!!!!!!! Your Ds's were good!!!!!!! Of course you know that means the next time you go shopping you will have a very hard time remembering that they were ever good once in their lives.......and those aliens that only visit households once a decade will be somewhere else or on vacation. I am happy for you, though. A peaceful shopping trip is a blessing.

Dd's ear is slowly on the mend, and she is better, not 100% yet but better. And at least today I can laugh about my puke incident.......and am so thankful for Lysol.
We are heading out shopping today- for Ds's bday and groceries that I did not get out for with a sickie. Hi to everyone that I did not address. Hope your weekend is good.

03-13-2004, 11:59 AM
Good morning all!
I have to start off with Ricci, that was the funniest thing about PMS I've ever read!! Thanks so much for posting it!!! I got my chocolate fix in last night with one of those Brownie Earthquakes from Dairy Queen. Was very good. :)
I thought this was such a great idea it's a new product at Avon and it's a portable nail enamel!! No worrying about spilling, check it out if you like nail polish. I'm emailing my avon lady right now to see what catalog it will be in at the introductory price because I want to buy several!! So cool. I've never seen one like that before.
Ginny, enjoy your shopping day. What are you buying for ds??
Melinda, what a funny dream! See? We all really need to meet. I have a web cam that acts as a video or still camera but it's not a great quality one. I know I can use it on yahoo messenger, does anyone here have that? enjoy having your sister and BIL in!
Ricci, congrats on the 2#'s gone!! Great work. But you do great on your workouts, very motivated. I'm really thinking about challenging myself soon to a 6 week workout challenge. I want to take some pictures of me right now in a two piece swimsuit or bra and underwear, something that shows my abs and such and then compare them after the 6 weeks to see how much they changed. Since I've never measured myself, I don't even own a tape measure. Anyone else think this would be a good challenge? But I want to do it with The Firm and my pilates. But mainly The Firm. Any feedback would be appreciated. I just know I'm getting close to my goal but my body is far from what I want it to look like and maybe a good 6 week exercise challenge with pictures will get my body in better shape no matter what the scale says. So it's not a challenge to help get weight off, but to tone my body. I'm thinking about not even weighing during that period so I'm not discouraged if the scale goes up due to muscle gain or stalls me. What do you all think??
Geri, did that movie last night disctract you from the kitchen? I hope so. It's really hard to break old habits, but hang in there... they say it takes 3 weeks to break a habit. (well, dr.phil says that and I believe him, lol)
Candy, I really hope that ear clears up. Sounds miserable. Do you think it can be cleared up by extracting the ear wax or something? Does if feel like something is in it? How did you enjoy the evening with DH last night? We had a game night with the gamecube last night and it was alot of fun. I bought kids meals for dinner for the kids and icecream then we came home and ate and plugged in the gamecube, which hasn't been played in months and had a great time. I didn't think they were old enough to work the controls but they figured it out pretty fast and it was fun. So it was a nice evening for us. TOM hit me right on schedule last night too so it was nice to lay on the couch and play games. :)
Well I really need to get off of here and clean up the kitchen and get some breakfast in me. Sorry if I missed anyone. I will be back on later. have a great weekend all!!!! TTYL!

03-13-2004, 02:55 PM
Hello all,

Spryng, the movie was cute...but no, I snacked a little again last night  . That's it more! :rollpin: I ended up staying upstairs because I thought I may not hear the kids if they were crying or whatever...too lazy to move the monitor downstairs. Glad TOM came 'cause that means he'll leave soon :D

Ginny, hope shopping goes well...glad you could laugh about the bus incident! When is ds birthday? How old will he be?

Andrea, strange dream! So nice of you to include us though! Have a great weekend visit with your family.

Ricci, loved the PMS stuff. Copied and emailed it to all the girl friends. Congrats on the loss! :cheer: You were stalled for awhile if I remember correctly.

Got my 3 mile walk in again this morning. I have to find something else that I enjoy that makes me sweat as good as Leslie does before I get bored  I have to get my gf 3 mile tape because I think it's different than the one I have. She loaned it to her SIL who isn't using it!

We have a birthday party this afternoon and although I should skip the cake because of the snacking I was doing...I won't ;) . I have been exercising a lot so that should counteract the snacks. I love cake and never buy it except for my boys birthdays so I will indulge in a piece. I will ask for a middle piece with less frosting...I used to go for the corners!! :D

Hope everyone has a great OP day! Take care and I'll check back in later. Hello to anyone I didn't personally address!

03-13-2004, 08:01 PM
Hello again! Everyone must be having a great saturday and staying busy. Wish I could be doing something fun. I'm just hanging around the house doing nothing.
Geri, I hope you stay out of that kitchen tonight! Just look at your signature, 17 lbs gone by april 1st, you can do it! But you have to get rid of that late night eating. I know you can do this. Hope you are enjoying that party.
We had Chicken Creole Rice for dinner, it's from Zatarains. It was really good. The kids are playing the gamecube again and I am bored. I guess I could clean or fold laundry.... NAH! I rather be bored, lol.
Oh, I've been thinking more about that 6 week challenge. I wouldn't start it until april 9th, I was giving myself until april 4th to reach my goal weight ( my anniversary) so I want to be able to weigh in to see if I made it or not. So that makes it 4 weeks away. But I am seriously wanting to do it. I just know once I hit 130 lbs I'm going to really think hitting 120 is years away and I don't want my scale to take over my life while I get those last 10 lbs off. So maybe a 6 week challenge of no weighing would help me lose those last 10 lbs, tone this body, and keep my sanity too. But I still want to hear what you all think. I posted the idea at the WW site and most people thought it was a dumb idea not to weigh in weekly. But I think that as long as I was OP (which I normally am) I shouldn't have to worry about gaining weight, unless it was muscle related, so then why weight weekly? But maybe I'm not thinking straight.
ok, got to get off of here. TTYL!

Just a short hello. The shopping trip was ok- Dh was in a crummy mood because Dicks' (sporting goods store) was out of the stuff he wanted to get for Ds. So he will be going out again tomorrow to Anaconda- a huge sporting goods store that is usually very well stocked. Dh is obsessive about his baseball stuff.........totally obsessive. Tommorrows trip should (please, Lord?) be successful.

Spryng- I would continue to WI- only because you can't expect to gain say 10# of muscle mass. There has to be some way of making sure that you are still OP. But, of course you will be focusing on the non scale victories, should you gain a # or two of muscle. I will look thru my WW materials and see what/how they discuss that. But, of course, you are looking for a nonscale victory- and Laura counts that as just as important as a scale loss- being that you are now at a healthy weigh. You are doing great......don't get discouraged!!!!! With TOM approaching, that is all to easy to do.

Geri-Glad that TOM showed up, so at least you had a good excuse for the snacking!!!!!
Enjoy the cake- sometimes you have to allow yourself a normal snack. And a middle piece (I am a frosting freak too) will be yummy. Leslie has a 4 mile tape too- you can break it up into segments. I enjoy that one too. Good job getting that 3 miles in.

Gotta go get Dd into bed, the poor kid is still dragging from the ear ache, but she is improving.
BTW- Ds will be 15 (Lord, give me grace) on Wednesday. A St Patricks day baby- although there is not one drop of Irish blood in him and we do not celebrate it.
See ya tomorrow!

Hey Ya'll

I have had a horrible week. I don't remember the last time I posted. Dh and I sat down to do our finances and 2 credit cards that we have raised our rates to 20% b/c we were getting close to our max limit on those cards. We have had to put a lot on credit since Dh was laid off. Anyway, I was sooo mad and I called to see if they would lower the interest since we had not been late on any payments and they said no. They explained that since we had not paid a substancial amount on the card, we must be in financial strain. DUH!!!! So they raised the interest rate which doubled my payments. Dh is starting out with a very low salary and I don't know how we are going to make it. I feel like they have kicked us while we are down. I can't go to work cause I never went to college. I had Andrew at 19 and wanted to stay home with him. After paying a sitter for Alex it wouldn't pay me to work since I couldn't get a job for more than minimum wage. Maybe if I was in a big city it would be easier. I don't know I'm just STRESSED OUT!!!! I have also done some stress eating and have gained to pounds. Candy and Melinda I guess this isn't our week for weight loss!! I'll quit being negitive now. Well, I just wanted everyone to know I'm still here. I've just been busy with finances and such. I'll be in a better mood tomorrow! :D Think I'll go get a cup of coffee and try to relax! :coffee:

Good morning all!
Andrea, I am so sorry that you are stressed out over bills. Credit card companies are the worst sometimes. I wish I had some good advice to you for dealing with them, but all I can say is try and talk to someone above the person you talked to last time and keep going up until you get the results you want. You can get credit cards to lower interest and payments if you are persistant. There are usually hardship programs they have also that will let you make smaller payments or miss a few payments without penalties, but like I said, they don't usually tell you about them, you have to ask. I hope you feel better about it all soon. And I know what you mean about education keeping you from getting a great job. I never went to college either and the only experiance I have with jobs are fast food or housekeeping at hotels... so it would be very hard for me to get a good job too if I was forced to go back to work. Do you qualify for state aid? Sometimes they will pay for you to go back to school or learn a specific trade or something and pay for childcare while you do it. But don't feel like you have no options, just because you didn't go to college doesn't make you unqualified for certain careers, you just have to look really hard. Maybe try a temp agency or something that places people in factories or offices or something. I really hope things work out for you.
Ginny, I hope you find what you are looking for today. Are you looking for something specific for ds? And I think you are right about weighing in. That is what the majority of people told me at the WW site. So maybe I will still weigh. I am still putting the whole idea on paper to make sure it is something I will commit to. Has anyone seen that lateral thigh machine?? I really want it! I've seen the infomercial a dozen times and it targets thighs, legs, and butt and that is where I need the most work. I mean I need my abs too but my thighs need some help. That is why I weigh less now but still in a size 10. Last time I was 135 I was in an 8 because my thighs were smaller too and this time they are not shrinking very well, so I think that thigh machine would be great. But it's pricey. I may wait until I can get it at a good price on ebay or something. And Ginny, I think you got me and Geri confused on the TOM issue. I got TOM on friday, not Geri :) I stepped on the scale today because I no longer feel bloated and I've already lost more weight!! I can't wait until my WI on friday for the real results.
Well, I need to get off of here. Hope everyone has a great sunday!!

Good morning everyone,

Just a quick post here ... left my coffee upstairs and it's getting cold :coffee:

Spryng, before you get an expensive machine...try the balance ball. I got a few tapes from my gf yesterday and this morning I did the Time Saver shaper ball workout from Kathy Smith and I really felt it. It worked the abs, lower back & lower body ... the ball only cost around $15-20 and the video is probably the same! I'm sure I won't be able to move tomorrow! I can feel my abs much more than when I do my pilates and I need to work up to some of the lower body exercises she was doing!! Anyway, just trying to save you a few bucks!

Andrea, sorry about the credit card situation. Can you get a cheaper card and use it to pay off the cards you have? Since you haven't missed any payments seems like you should be able to. Then you can tell your card companies to shove it!! 20% is rediculous in this day and age of low interest rates. Try Capitol One. My Dh has one and he absolutely loves it. He's also had great experiences with their customer service people. Hey, we're here for you to vent to! I hear you about paying for a babysitter. When I do go to find that part time job someday I don't know if it will pay to even take it! Most of the office jobs appear to pay $10-12 per hour which at 20 hrs per week is only $200-240 before pay a babysitter and see if you have enough left for groceries! I have a college degree but try to find a part time job where it even matters!! I make more on unemployment. :p

Ginny, hope Dh finds what he's looking for...for your sake. Ds is going to be 15? You must have been a child bride :D

Spryng, I don't know about skipping the WI or not, but I would suggest you take your measurements so that if the scale does go up, you can re-measure and see how many inches you are down. I haven't re-measured at all yet...I'm trying to hold off til the end of the month. I would be interested in a 6 week'll keep me on track I think. April is a good time to start for me because by mid May it may be nice enough to get outside and get some yard work done...I'm itching to get out there now but it's only in the 30's here :(

Well, I should get going now. Tony's down for a nap and Will's looking bored and will be getting into some trouble soon :^: . TTYL

Hi to all...hope you're having a great weekend! Hang in there Andrea :dizzy:

Ginny, the cake was great...I caved for the end piece but shared it with Will!! At least it wasn't a corner. It was well worth every calorie :)
