Yay! I'm in again. I lost just over 22 lbs in August and was on page 6 of the daily weigh in thread. Glad to be on page 1. :)

I want to be in Onederland by the end of September. Secretly hoping to be around the 195 mark.

August weight - 210.8

2- 208.6 - I didn't expect this. :) Yay.
3- 208.6 - Glad I didn't see a gain. I thought yesterday's weigh in was a fluke. I am glad it wasn't.
4- 207.8 - I was so hungry yesterday, but stuck to it. Down 3 pounds this month.
5- 208.6 - The gain in my own fault. I am suprised that it isn't much higher. Back on plan today.

I'm almost giddy with excitment for this month!! :) Ending August at 184, 4 lbs gone this month.
Going for a tall order this month . . . move from obeese to overweight, to do that I need to go to 174. Eeeesh!!!

I've been considering going back to weekly weighing in again for months, but I sure do love coming here every morning to update my progress. Even when it is slow.

Can I join? I only lost 3 pounds in August (if my weigh-in this morning sticks -felt like less - I've stalled the last half). I'd love to track daily. My goal is to stay on plan in spite of the stalls.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I have noticed something. The last few months I have started using a Progesterone cream to balance my hormones. Last month, there was a time that I felt like I struggled and I didn't know what it was. I started back on the Progesterone cream the other day, right about the time of Onederland. :lol: I have noticed the last couple of days that I feel bloated and like I am retaining fluid. I think it's the Progesterone cream. My memory from last month is that it passes after a couple days. I need to keep notes of everything in one place so I can figure things out easier. :dizzy:

Calories for yesterday: 1490

Weigh In: 201.2 :(

Apparently, we're trending. I'm up as well this morning... +1.4 to 199.2 - I think it's because we had unexpected guests last night so I didn't go to bed until about midnight and then I was up at 5:30 and at work earlier than usual. Doesn't help that I also had almost 3/4 of a litre of water right before I went to sleep! But I was sooo dehydrated.

Today promises to be a super long day. AND on top of all of that, I have to finish painting the closets tonight because the carpet is being installed tomorrow so I want to get rid of all the paint stuff. AND on top of all of that, the wedding is in 1.5 weeks.. I can't wait for Sept 13 to roll around so I can finally be stress-free. I feel like it's so long away! Oy vay, didn't realize I was that pent up.

Well, looks like TOM gets pissy when you talk about him went up 1.4 today . . . though I'm not even sure I can blame that on TOM, haven't had a decent 'bathroom experience' in a couple days, hmmmm :dance: :dance: hopefully that'll help out.

I'm issuing a new challenge to myself though. I've got a goodlife fitness 2 blocks from my work and an Hour long lunch, so . . . I'm thinking I need to try going at least 2 a week on my lunch (I normally only work 4 days a week) and then adding in 2 or 3 evening workouts on opposite days.
My maiden voyage is going to be today unless we get backed up again . . blah.

Wow, you guys post a lot! With my crazy work schedule (avg. 47 hours per week, this week 55-60) I may only be able to keep up with this one thread!:^:

August saw a 5lb loss for me, and I've just moving those days over here 'cause I need something positive to look at everyday!

I think a mini goal for September will be to get seven hours of sleep at least six days a week, since I think I read once not sleeping enough can hinder weight loss. Is that right?:?:

Coon Good luck with your challenge! I have a Goodlife right by work too, but it takes me about 15 minutes to get there after work in the rush hour. At least if you go during lunch, you don't run the risk of being interrupted by the little guy.

StarGetsFit I've never actually thought about it, but I guess we really do post a lot. But for me anyway, that's kind of why I feel like we're one big family. You're always sure to get some kind of motivation. Don't worry, we don't hate if you can't post 24.7. We disappear at times too! :lol:

Star: I have also heard numerous times that if you don't get enough sleep, it hinders weight loss. I have noticed for myself that I can really feel a difference in my hunger levels if I don't get my minimum of 7 hours a night.

Well, I am at 235.4 today. Down .2 from yesterday. TOM is still at my house. I can't wait for him to be gone. I am really happy with my 14lb loss for August. I think I'll set a goal of 8lbs for September. :eek: It feels ambitious but I feel confident in my eating and I am going to start going back to the gym this month. Starting it off with cardio for this month (just to get back to the "routine" of going again) and then going to add in strength training next month.

I am PUMPED for September, gang! We are all so amazing!!!

I'm up 2.6 from yesterday. I know I had a lot of sodium yesterday. Will be drinking lots of water today to try to flush it out. Sounds like a few others had less than thrilling weigh ins this morning, but we'll turn this around!

Thanks Vixsin and Angie - but it's not my wedding! I just celebrated my 1st anniversary on Sunday. I'm planning my hubby's cousin's wedding, which my in-laws are hosting because the cousin's parents are unable to travel... In terms of delegating, they did delegate... to me! LOL I think that's why it's even more stressful because I'm trying to make decisions for someone else. The bride is new to the country and is so completely overwhelmed with everything that she's happy someone else is dealing with the details and the groom (my hubby's cousin) lives in a different city about 1.5 hours away from us (where the wedding is being held) so again he's just happy someone else is dealing with the details. Added to which my in-laws are all well you planned the entire wedding last year (mine) so you know what needs to get done better than anyone else. Essentially, I've become the family's wedding planner.

Cheryl, I'm following you around today. ;)

I just complained on the yearly weight loss challenge thread that I only lost 2 pounds in August. I'm hoping to do better in September while I decide just exactly where I want to settle. I'm a size 10, which I thought was where I wanted to be when I was in a 20. It's just that I didn't think a size 10 would happen at 168 pounds. I'm still 20 pounds overweight. So I don't know.

But in the meantime, I AM still trying, so this month is all about calories! I am logging them! I think I may log them on my daily chart here.

Work out one done. It;s of course not much = 30 min treadmill at 6 incline 3.2 speed but it worked up a sweat and thats 30 min extra this week woo hoo!

I started the month out right - down a pound to 214.6. And I stopped at the gym on the way home and bought a year's membership. So I'll be swimming most nights before work.

Diana - I told you the 200's loved you and didn't want to end their relationship with you. But they better get used to heartbreak! I know you're really done with them (and I'm planning on ending a very long term relationship with them very soon!)

StarGetsFit - I don't get to post often either but I check in nearly every day to see how my daily peeps are doing. This group is great! So supportive! (and yeah, sleep is super important. Sleep deprivation makes you crave carbs and never feel full - a very very bad combo.)

Eclipse - I wondered how we were getting by the 500 posts rule....

Coondocks - I see I'm not the only one making a gym commitment!

I do! :D I really do! (Except when stupid Mr. Negativity reminds me about vanity sizing) I'm just caught right now between my BMI which is still pretty far above normal and the fact that I'm what I consider to be a really normal size. I'm pretty much happy where I am but ok to lose more too. It's quite a happy problem, I must say. ;)

That said, I'm struggling to stay within my calories right now!! My eating habits have to change from all day grazing, 100 calories here, 100 calories there, to a more routine schedule of eating ever 2.5 hours as my work schedule allows. The beginning was hard switching out of routine mode and now going back to routine is equally hard. I know I'll fall into a pattern, but right now my belly thinks it's supposed to be eating hourly and I find myself on the point of starvation around 4:00, my old snacking hour. If only I could feed my family dinner at 4:00, I'd be good to go. My best solution is to eat a heavy snack before leaving work around 3:00, but that didn't work out today. Right now I am so ravenous at 4:00 I eat and eat and eat. It's not a lot, actually, but it's definitely a full meal's worth of calories. (Meals for me are 200 calories) But I should eat a full size 200 calorie meal before my real 200 calorie dinner. That's 400 calories practically back to back. They should be spread out more.

:dizzy: It's hard to explain. But that's my plan. Mini meals.

I weighed in this morning, 261.9, so down 1.1. I am going to the bathroom a LOT, it feels like every 2 minutes, buuut I'm sure it's not. I am going to the dermatologist tomorrow morning, getting 2 moles looked at. I'm a little nervous, even though I know I won't have any answers yet.

I have to say I'm so bloody exhausted. I didn't get home until about 8pm today. By the time I left work, ran errands, picked up hubby from work, got home, made dinner and ate dinner, I was already spent. But I somehow mustered up the very little energy I had left and finished painting. That's right, I am officially done the painting! Hallelujah. I'm a little worried about my WI in the morning because it's wayyyy past my usual sleeping time and I'm having hot chocolate right now (I totally needed a treat). But I'm absolutely starving and refuse to eat anything at this time, dinner was late enough as is, but the painting built up an appetite and I'm hoping the warm milk will help me sleep. Did I mention that my legs are super sore?! Oh well, we'll see what we see in the morning.. Good night!

Good Morning!

I'm having an allergic reaction to something and not quite sure what it is. My face is swollen and my lips are very swollen. I'm not having respiratory issues. Last Friday I bought some Burt's Bee's Lip Balm. I have used that several times a day. I have never been allergic to honey before. :?: I am also taking a Resveratrol product. I didn't take it this weekend. I noticed the reaction this weekend on my lips and they are getting worse. I also have a new face cleanser. I have been taking the Resveratrol 5 days a week for a while now. The only new things are the lip balm and the face cleanser. It literally looks like I have had lip injections. My face is swollen but not broke out. I'm thinking it must be the lip balm. The hard thing is trying to figure out what I'm allergic to. I doubt that it's the Progesterone cream. I have been using that for several months. Any ideas as to which thing could be causing the issue. I think I am throwing away the lip balm for sure.

I'm not sure what's going on with my crazy body right now. :(

Yikes, Diana. I'm not sure. It's good you're not having respiratory issues. It doesn't seem like the face cream could cause your lips to swell. I don't know! I'd definitely see a doctor. Allergies are nothing to mess with as they tend to get worse. The next time you might have respiratory issues.

:( Sorry to hear that Diana,All those chemical in the lip balm, mixed w/the Resveratrol and the face cleanser just don't agree w/your system.What about taking benadryl,that's what helped me when i had an allergic reaction to orange juice once,causing my lips to swell up.
I'd Just stop with everything cause you don't know what it is. Don't worry :hug: Once you run all that stuff out your system it'll clear up.And then if you what to,you can start back w/just one of them and see how your system handles that one.hang in there :hug:

Diana - you sure it couldn't be something you ate? Normally if you have a reaction to a lip product only your lips would get swollen or itchy, is it all over your face as well or just closer to your lips? I'd keep the majority of products off your face for the next couple of days until the swelling goes down. As for your lips? If they are super dried out I'd put something with very little ingredients on them - vasoline perhaps. I hope it goes away soon, reactions are not a fun experience..

Aimee My face is kinda swollen (under my eyes), the lips are really swollen and irritated. (I do not need lip injections :lol:) It's like it's isolated to the lip area. I have eaten the same thing, no changes.

Sorry if this shows twice- I posted and it isn't showing. I am up 1.2 from yesterday. I think it is because I didn't have enough water yesterday and my muscles are retaining water because they are sore from a fitness class I started attending on Friday. I am frustrated since I only lost 5.6 pounds in August. I was losing at a rate of 2 - 2.5 a week and now it's like 1 pound every 10 days or so. I want to get to Onederland so bad and it's feeling like I will never get there.

Down 1.1 for 256.6 today. Which is funny because i was at 257.7 yesterday and before bed last night 258.8 ROFL it is cracking me up just to type it out.

Diana - My lips get like that whenever I eat cashews or strawberries. 2 items I'm very allergic too. It could be the lip balm though. Allergies can get worse over time of exposure, so it makes sense if you have been using the lip balm and didn't notice anything before.

Diana: Burt's Bees in made from beeswax, not honey, and if you are allergic to bees, you CAN have an allergic reaction to beeswax, I am told. Generally, you would have to have a fairly serious allergy to react though.

TXMary2: I have read that if you are losing at a quick rate for awhile that your body can start "getting worried" that it's not getting enough food and try and plateau. But if you up your calories (scary!:fr:) by a 100 or so for a few days it can actually help you start losing fast again. It kinda tricks your body and makes it go, "Oh, there's not food shortage, whew, I can start shedding those pounds again."

Of course, I've just read this, I have no actual experience with it.:shrug:

Hi Again!

I have never had a reaction to bee stings. I looked at my normal lip balm and it also contains beeswax, but not as much. Hmm, so I don't know. I am eliminating the Burt's Bees product and the resveratrol. I tried Burt's Bees before and didn't like it for some reason, but can't remember why. :lol: Maybe that stuff affects your memory, too. ;) I will eliminate those two things first and see how it goes today without them. I will update later. :D

Diana Ohhhh no! I hate allergic reactions. :hug: It could be any of those things you mentioned or it could be something else entirely. I remember a few years ago when I was still in university, I went to a class one day and someone asked me if I had got collagen injections because I had such a reaction on my lips, but it was an allergy I had never had before, just developed over time. I hope you feel better soon and figure out what it is!

Aimee Good luck with the doctor today! :hug: I know you said you won't know what it is today, but we'll be here when you get back! As for the wedding planning, it can be kind of daunting, but I think it's all about having a plan and attacking it one step at a time. If you just look at everything at once, it is far too much. If it makes you feel better, I planned my wedding in just 4 months! And typically Indian weddings are quite large anyway, but thanks to MIL who just didn't know when to stop, we had about 700+ people at ours.

As for me I dropped 1.5 this morning. But I woke up with by far the worst headache I've had in a while. In desperate need of some coffee and I just don't have the energy to make it. Diana I would cut out everything but the Progesterone cream since you've been using it. It could definitely be a combination of the different ingredients not working together. Hope it clears up soon and I would definitely get some Benadryl to calm things down. :hug: I wouldn't use vaseline though. I have really dry skin so I put lotion/cream on then put vaseline on top to hold it in. You want your skin to breathe.

Coon - it definitely was an insane party. All worked out in the end, but it was just coordinating it in short period of time that drove me nuts. Conveniently, I wasn't working at the time so I had nothing else to do anyway!

The weather here has just been insane. We're in our second heat wave of the summer! They keep saying it's going to rain, but it doesn't. Apparently Hurricane Earl is supposed to hit Nova Scotia on Saturday and we're supposed to get rain from that as well... Pressure headaches are brutal for me too, but I haven't had a headache like this is a longgg time!~

I am literally home for 5 minutes, but wanted to update you all! The dermatologist says that my moles are normal, even the one where I thought it wasn't. And I've also got very little sun damage for my age, all good news! The mole I was the most concerned with has been there my entire life, and it's on my arm right by my watch and fairly big.. I think I'd be a little lost if it had to be removed! And now I'm off to work! I did read, and SO badly want to comment but I am running late..

OH, and down 1.3 to 260.6!

Hello gals! Ok, so I kind of disappeared for the summer. I have been OP since the beginning of July.:ink: I did nothing I said I was going to do as far as exercising is concerned.:nono: I feel SO guilty. When I went OP, my weight was 251. It is now 255.8. So I haven't gained too much back. The new session starts on the 13th for all the classes at the Y, so I am starting fresh on that Monday.:exercise: That is when I go back OP and start my classes, at least 3times a week, various aqua aerobics. Does anyone know if they are a bit easier to keep up with then land aerobics?? So all in all, here I am, crawling back to you gals, lol.

Ona -- The funny thing is I rarely have the same trainer twice, they have about a dozen of them and they keep switching them up on you. I think that's part of what works though, they each have different tortures (exercises) for you. Although they are all easily replicated at home, I have to say I really see the value in having someone standing there counting your reps and pushing you to go further.

Diana - Octomom! That made me snort...lol. Glad you are feeling better.

I worked my BUTT off at work today! I was supposed to train someone - which is basically sitting all day. But he was sick, so they had me doing some stuff in different departments. They have things called Paid Ends and I built 5 of them - which I guess is pretty good! Lots of bending, lifting VERY heavy things, squatting, climbing ladders. Phew! I am exhausted. Secretly hoping for another good WI tomorrow because of it! We'll see, my muscles are SO SORE! A little novel from me.. heh.. Good night!

Update: My face seems to have went down some. Could an allergic reaction like that affect your whole body (meaning water weight gain?) I have been 100% on plan with my food and exercise. 100% and not straying at all and I have gained. Of course it feels like I'm swollen all over, fingers, etc.

Diana -- Yes, it seems reasonable that the reaction might have caused some water retention....you've been on plan so something has got to give. I'll cross my fingers for tomorrow morning for you.

Give your tub time to drain and all will be better :) (I should live in a bubble with everything I'm allergic to!)

Aimee - My hubs and I have friends in Alaska. She is trying to convince me to move there. We will see ;)

down .4 today to 256.2. I'm good with that. I would love to continually see .4 drops daily. TOM is due any day now though, so no big hopes there.

It's been a brutal morning over here. An argument with MIL and then a petty argument with Hubby. There's just too much going on in this house right now and I think everyone is just spent. I know I am... The basement was just in such brutal condition when we got it back and we definitely didn't plan on spending that much money on fixing it up, but it needed it. And the wedding is starting to sneak up on everyone, argh! I'm so frustrated.

Anyway, my WI this morning bounced between a couple of numbers, so I'm taking the highest, which was 196.6 (though I wish I could take the lowest at 195.9 - that would have been a new low). Even with the highest it's a 1.1 drop... surprising because I had too much sodium yesterday. Still trying to flush it out, hope this decline continues.

I'll be back later for personals.

Diana, a couple of months ago, I had a weight gain/stall. I couldn't figure out what it was, but I kept getting horrific stomach aches. I finally tracked it down to all the avocado I had been eating - and a main symptom of avocado allergy is horrible stomache cramping. The last time I ate it, I even got that tingly, cotton mouthy reaction that people aften get when they're allergic. I'm going forward with the assumption that I can't have avocado :(. But my point is, as SOON as I cut it out, within a couple of days, my weight started falling off again. I don't know if it was water retention, or if my body was just feeling so traumatized that it was hanging on to every oz it could, but it really seemed to make a difference to get the allergen out of my system. Allergies do weird things to your body!

Weigh in today - 197.0, down .4 lbs.

As for myself, down to 186.4 this morning! Lost 6.4 pounds since Sunday! Great feeling! A couple of those pounds was probably water weight as I had chips and salsa on Saturday. To make up for that, I worked extra hard this week, eating very very clean and ran 3 miles each evening.

With that being said, I am a weakling for weekends, and usually gain 2-3 pounds back. I have a feeling with all the events happening this weekend, I shouldn't set myself up for failure by saying I won't gain anything, however I need to limit myself and try and *maintain* :)

Not a great WI this morning up .2, I'm not surprised at all because I woke up with a running nose, stuffy head, so definitely retaining some water. I drove the bf to work and my eyes were running, got home and I felt nauseated. I went to work anyways, but had to come home by 12pm. Yuck. I came home and went STRAIGHT to bed, and woke up feeling much better. :)

Eclipse That's interesting about the avocado. I'm glad you figured it out. I have eliminated a couple things and took a Zyrtec. My face/lips have went down. The 3 pounds has freaked me out, though!

Coondocks Great job on the treadmill! I think the Zyrtec has helped. It just scares me that I don't really know what did it. It could have been most anything. As I said to Eclipse the weight gain really freaked me out.

The portrait shoot was awful. I've gained weight quickly in the last couple years and I really have a bit of body dimorphia going on. I hate pictures of myself because they're just so shockingly unlike my mental image of myself that it's just jarring.

That awful part was the photographer, who was from Germany, said to me, while pointing at my stomach and them my thigh, "Don't worry, we will just shoot you from the chest up, that you won't worry about these parts that concern you."

Talk about mortifying. I mean, yes, my fat rolls concern and I don't like them in pictures, but you don't have to point them out to me!:mad:

Luckily, no one else was in the room at the moment but it was just . . .:cry:

But instead of stopping at McDonalds, my usual solution to a stressful work day, I stopped at natural food store and bought fresh organic blackberries to have for dessert tonight, since I won't be eating pie with everyone else.


patchworkpenguin: I am a bargin hunter, I usually buy two or 3 turkeys during the holidays . . . . they just usually get eaten sooner!

StarGetsFit - sorry to hear about your experience :( That was fairly insensitive of your photographer, the only good thing was that she didn't say it around anyone else! I hate hate hate getting my picture taken by people other than myself, and my mom. A couple of years ago, just after I'd put on all this weight I had to get some professional pictures taken for work as well - to be put in the newspaper - it was horrible! Everyone in my family got a copy of the paper, plus it's the picture thats on the back of my name tag at work so I get to see it all the time. That's my horror story. Sounds like you dealt with it well, :hug: that's something to be proud of! :D

Angie - Sometimes a little treat isn't a bad thing, and I'm sure that walking made an impact :) As for the pimple, what works for me is a cloth with hot water on it, hold it on there to draw it out. I've also used hydrogen peroxide on bigger more painful ones. I regularly get them still - once a month if you know what I mean!

Phew, I'm talkative tonight apparently! All that sleep I got!

was jumping between 181.8 and 182 this morning so Im taking the 182 :) I'm sure it's a combination of a lot of things, but I really think there is a lot to be said about 30 minutes on the inclined treadmill. I work up a good sweet, keep the metabolism going all afternoon, i've been sleeping so much better so I will def be sticking with it.
No gym for me this morning or afternoon . . but I'm taking Jack and my new toy (SLR Digi Cam) to the zoo to see the new Lions . . so lots of walking and smart planning of snacks and lots of water today.
Hopefully i'll even get some great pics :) :)

BBL for personals but it looks like everyone is starting the weekend off great!!

Good Morning!

I went to bed early last night and slept well. I still have some facial/lip swelling this morning. Things seem to be improving over time. This has been totally crazy for me. I never expected anything like this to happen.

StarGetsFit I wish I could have been there for you. I could have taken care of that idiot. I tend to be quiet and shy, but I can slip things in that will shock the best of them. Just a little background on me. I have been overweight most of my life, but I have managed very well. I tend to do everything I want to do and not let my weight stop me. Anyways, last week we had a customer that needed alot of work done to his truck. This customer has a business partner that is the money part of their partnership. They came in to pick up the truck. The money guy was very sarcastic, belittling, and condescending to the partner and to me. It was just very uncomfortable. You can tell the money guy is a jerk in general. He was blowing off at the mouth the whole time. Anyways he looked at my computer desk and saw all my workout DVD's and said "Who uses these and works out?" HEE HEE I had my opportunity to shut this guy up! :devil: I told him "I do, why do you ask? I don't look like I work out?" :devil: He started stuttering and stammering all over himself. It was wonderful to be able to shut him up. Our customer said "Oh, uh, oh, uh" Ha Ha Then I asked Mr Money Man "Do you want to answer that or is it a loaded question?" :devil: It was obvious our customer didn't feel he could stand up to Mr Money Man. It just really felt good to shut him up and put him in a position that he didn't know what to say. :devil:

Aimee -- I'm going to steam a washcloth and apply it to my little friend, thanks for the tip! I had an absolutely horrible picture taken for work as well, I can barely stand to look at it, and they put it in the annual presenation. Ugh.

Diana - Woo hoo! 1.8, there you go, that's awesome. :carrot:

Coondocks -- I'm definitely going to increase the incline for my treadmill, you're doing so great!

Penguin -- Congrats on the pound. Maybe your body just needed a few more calories, it's always nice when it works out that way.

My shoulders are killing me from my workout Thursday, it always seems to hit me worst two days after the workout. I'm hoping that's also responsible for some water retention. Plan for today, stay on plan and reap the benefits on Sunday/Monday. :D

Coondocks - Down 3.1 so far this month, feeling good about being back in the 250's, and can't wait to hit 257, which is where I was in the beginning of July and then on to the 240's! :D The sun is shining in my living room and it's quite warm - so enjoy! Think of me stuck at work until 10pm, :lol:

Aimee I think the challenges are what help keep me motivated. I know that if I don't make one it will be quite upsetting. Angie - sounds like you have a well balanced weekend! I am working, working, and a little more work! I worked yesterday, and then today 2:30-10, and tomorrow 11-6:30. I plan to try and sleep a little too ;) Monday the bf and I are off so we'll spend the day together :) Work was fun tonight though, my favorite supervisor was working and he's always a blast! He's also working tomorrow which I'm sure I'll enjoy as well!

Lots of small losses today, I think that these are greater strides than we appreciate considering its a long weekend. Congrats on all the losses!

I'm feeling a bit inspired to cook today. I've got a great light recipe for lemon pasta if anyone would like it. It's great with whole wheat pasta, but since I'm carb free I'm going to try it with shirataki noodles today, and add a whole bunch of veggies. I'm thinking asparagus, artichoke hearts and grilled chicken tossed with the noodles & lemon sauce. Yum :drool:

Thanks Ona! That's the kinds of pep talk I need in the morning! I've already been out for a long brisk walk with the dogs this morning. Weighed in at 214 even, which is up .4 from my all time low but down from yesterday's 215.2 after I ate out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the day before that.

I'm a little baffled by my weightloss this week. I've had a few days over my cal 'high' and then a few lower days to compensate, but I would think the two higher days would throw everything off. I haven't done the math but if I was aiming for 1600 cals a day for a week and then this past week had two high days and a few low days I 'think' the average cals for both weeks would be the same. I could look at this past week as a zig-zag and keep trying to the up/down days and see if I continue to lose?

Ona - another .4! Keep this up and you'll drop 12.4 this month!! It's starting to get amusing, I'll be curious if it'll be .4 tomorrow too!

Diana - my store has no shortage of managers, :lol: There are 17, including me! It's a major retailer here in Canada, oh and I'm including every level of management from every dept and there are 9 dept's total. I would say give yourself at least a week to see all the symptoms of your reaction go away, hang in there you are doing GREAT - just remember a skin reaction is mentally challenging situation, and you are handling it quite well :)

Coondocks - how was the zoo yesterday? The mall was pretty darn busy with all the back to school teen's and tween's! How'd the camera do? Nice loss! .4 is the magic number!!

Angie - I'm a sucker for anything lemon! Let us know how it turns out :) I agree with you, we are doing very well - even just hanging in there on a long weekend! And the small losses are what really add up!! Congrats on your .6!

penguin - it's apparently quite a popular way of counting calories - zig-zagging them like that, and it looks like it's agreeing with you! I'd totally continue with it if you are seeing such fabulous results! Great job on your new low!!

Aimee - Zoo was fantastic, great day for it. Sadly the bear exhibits are being renovated so no bears for us and the red pandas were in hiding . . . but still a good day non the less. Did enough walking that the starbucks spiced pumpkin frapp that I had didn't curve the weigh in - course I kept it in calories :)
I've got a friend that Manages one of the kids stores in St Vital mall . . . I can only imagine what it's like this time of year . . . you have a lot more patience than I do that's for sure :)

Well as I mentioned above I am .8 up. I'm not mad though since I am still seeing that 6 I'm happy at 169.8. I don't recall seeing 160 anything I just went over it :D. I am really tired today because we stayed up so late watching movies and I really want a nap. Everyone's doing so well. I am loving the small loses and I hope to see one tomorrow myself. I posted in the August weigh-in. I lost 9.6 lbs. I'm still tracking daily, but very busy. I don't know if I'll be able to post everyday, but I wanted to put my goals out there. It makes it more concrete for me ...if that makes any sense.

So, I started the month at 259.2. I'd like to make it to 250 - that would be my first mini-goal. Really, I'd like to see 249. I'd be so excited!

In other news, I bought 2 new pair of jeans...2 sizes smaller.

NSV!I wore a suit jacket and shirt to service this morning that I haven't been able to wear for about a year. The jacket is a 14W.


Ona, I tried zig zagging once before but found I had a hard time hitting the mark. I was low on my high days and high on my low days. Staying on an even keel seemed to work better, but now that I have a little more expericence under my belt maybe I can do a better job this this time.

Coondocks - the bears are my favorite part! That's sad! Your pictures are great! Yeah, St Vital was pretty crazy, I left nearly 45 minutes late today! People were just unwilling to accept that we were closed!

love2B - I am better if I have a reason to talk to them, get me on something I know and I'll talk forever! :lol: I have a shocking amount of knowledge on makeup and the makeup industry, I just suck it all in! .8 isn't too bad, glad you are still seeing the 160's!

Ona - sadly I have no WI today, I was too rushed this morning.

I had one crazy busy day at work today, omg, I was running off my feet ALL day! But it was good! I kind of enjoy working alone - well alone in my dept. Helps that the cute supervisor was working today too ;)

I can never understand, when I hit a new low and the next day I gain 2 lbs. My cals from yesterday were around 1500 so its not like I over indulged.

Love - I can't believe how those pics turned out, it's not at all an expensive camera but it's user friendly for beginers to SLR cameras, I love it and I haven't even learned all about it yet :) I have a co-worker that's taken some photogrpahy courses and is going to show me all the fun things I can do with it, looking forward to taking it to BC

Aimee - if you work in St. Vital Mall . . . kudos to you, I couldn't do it. Takes a special person to handle that mall with grave and dignity and clearly you have that. People used to surprise me when I worked at a hotel "What do you mean the bar is closed? Where am I supposed to play VLTs?" of course this was 10 in the morning . . . seriously people floor me. Closed is closed, suck it up and come back another day

Diana - so glad to hear you are feeling better!!

I love reading other peoples ramblings - and of course jumping in with my own :p I think that's one of the greatest things about this community, it's not ALL about weight loss, you make connections with people and you can relate about all kinds of things. It's a nice balance, at least I think it is.

I'm a little worried about today, Shaun is in from BC and is supposed to be spending the day with Jack and taking me out tonight . . . this is never a 'healthy' evening out when we go and I know ultimately it's all in my control . . . but the fun weighs out over the want to stay on plan, hopefully today I'll remember i'll be seeing him in 6 weeks and we don't have to go all out nuts tonight.

The one I made yesterday was awesome with artichoke hearts, asparagus, mushrooms and red peppers

I've become addicted to those incline walks, gets a sweat going, can feel it in my legs and butt . . . . love them! So glad you're enjoying them keep at it!!:D:D I think it may have helped in the whoosh for sure, but you're def making some great choices - WAY TO GO!

:yikes: Angie,:woohoo: that's just great!!! I believe it was a combination of the incline, all the walking at the park and the up/down in calories you had.
Maybe your body was ready for you to do something different than the same stuff you do w/your trainer.
I was told every other month or so change my workout routine cause our bodies get use to the same routine and won't release any weight.And thanks :)

love2b - Gotta love a cute supervisor, the other night he just kinda came over and hung out, yesterday he went to get me some hard candies because I was stuck in my dept alone. Nothing like a little work crush to get you to work ;) He has a gf, and I have a bf (who is his boss AND they sometimes hang out), so it's all harmless fun!

Coondocks - St Vital isn't SO bad, and I'm a little sheltered working in such a huge store. I've always worked retail - definitely have the personality for it, so I guess I don't know any different. We all tell stories, and try to one-up each other on cranky customers from time to time. That's exciting that Shaun is here visiting! How long is he here for? I have a really hard time staying on plan when I have visitors - which is why July/August was a total bust for me. Have some strength, and most restaurants are getting better with their menu's, so try and find the healthy alternative! You can do this!! :D

Angie - O M G is right!! What an amazing WI!! 6.4 since August 31st!! WOW! I'm thinking I'm going to start with exercising today, I got a personal trainer to set up a workout I can do at home.. so now I just need to do it! She wants me to be her before-after pictures, we'll see about that part. But I think it's time I get my body moving!

Ona - a new number! .8! Great loss for last week :) How are you spending your Labour Day?

I will bbl with a WI I hope, it'll be a terrible one I'm sure because I am having issues in the bathroom, grr!

Everyone sounds like they're doing so great already. I kind of disappeared after the arguments I had on Friday morning, but appreciate everyone's kind words. It all worked out, which it was going to, but I think someone mentioned that tempers flare when people are stressed and boy oh boy is it ever true. We had the first of the pre-wedding functions at the house on Saturday, everything went so well - relieved some of that stress, until I somehow managed to sprain my ankle, boo! Don't ask me how it happened, I really couldn't tell you, and there was no alcohol involved. LoL. Anyway, it's a lot better now but still a bit tender yet. I think we're finally moving all of our stuff down to the basement today... if the boys ever get back from the bachelor party they had last night. They were all apparently too intoxicated to come home, so cabbed it to the closest person's house and crashed there. Thank goodness they had some sense there.

I was doing so well maintaining this weekend, which is kind of my plan until the wedding is over, but then yesterday hit and I made horrible choices. So I'm up to 198.4 which is all about the pizza that I ate at 10:30 last night. I know what it is, totally owning it, need to flush it out.

It's wedding frenzy here, so I don't have time for personals, just wanted to tell you I'm still around and reading everyone's progress through BB email notifications! I'll be in and out until next week but happy weighing everyone!

Hes only here until wednesday morning, he came in for a friends wedding.
I think growing up in St V and being a product of lets skip afternoon classes and go to the mall has made me notice all the changes more so, it was always a good mall, but never like it has been in the last few years. Its shananigans! BUT . . . at least working in the hospitality industry, I'm very conscious to not be a pain in the butt :p I remember cranky unreasonable customers and I don't want to be some ones 'well I can top that . . ' stories ha ha.
It's not the menu Im worried about, i've actually been really good with going out to eat and making better food choices, its getting easier . . . its the Gin and vodka that undoubtedly follow that get us :p

Coondocks, TOM really sucks. I'm not camera literate either. Last year I went to one of the kids school assembly. The lady beside helped me with the camera. Angie 4.2lbs down in one night, Oh my goodness is right! Wow you go GIRL :yay: Congratulations, I think I would take a picture of the scale if I ever lose 4 lbs in one night. :D Looks like I am definitely holding on to the 160's. I weighed in this morning at 168.8 very excited. :) Angie the weekend has been great with Mom. I had a 1/2 cup of banana pudding very good. We went to Golden Corral I stayed on point. I did tell her that I want to do a trial Thanksgiving meal. The kids were very excited. :D
