I'm sorry to hear of your husband Tim's illness. It's amazing how far medicine has come. They are able to do things unheard of 10 years ago. I will keep him and your family in my prayers. I truly believe in the power of prayer.

Happy Birthday, Karen!

Think except for cooking some stuff and packing my phone and Kindle I'm ready for Monday. I report at 11am. Gonna be a long evening with NPO after 12m. Actually it's gonna be a long weekend of waiting. Have had 2 phone calls and both scared me that they were canceling. Now I have to stay away from people with germs or as my kids would say cooties.

Happy Valentines Day all.....DH bought me red roses earlier this week so I could enjoy them. They are on the dining room table and at night when the light comes on they glow. Catches me by surprise every time. Dh is beside himself.....it's okay that we have been whittling away on him for years (back, hips, shoulder, hands) but not his DW. Not sleeping and complaining of dozen aches...heck he spent more time yesterday telling the doctor that stuff then I did setting up the final plans. Never share a doctor!

Continue to set my personal record on not cheating on plan. I am eating less than 800 calories a day now. Really balanced just small amounts. This is day 45 clean. Bkft eggbeater omelet, juice (cranberry cause you know why), coffee. Dinner will be piece of venison loin, big salad. Snack popcorn. Water water water....blah on water

Amazing part of this diet is Dh's BS have been really good. He was 114 fasting this morning. He can't believe it's true. BP and p are low normal, too. But then again he won't admit I'm right!

Sorry I just can't seem to remember what personals I was gonna write. My head is wrapped up in me stuff.....k3

Another cake, wow! They sure look good! This is the only type dessert I can really enjoy these days. Despite eating out (Chinese and I was very careful) last night, I didn't gain (actually went down 4 oz.) so I was pleased. The only dessert I had last night (valentines) was a fortune cookie and 2 small caramels. Of course eating less would have been better but since it was a special day I didn't worry about it too much. The problem is I always have two special days in a row and that makes it hard. Esp since I'm trying to get my bs down before my doctor visit next month. Donna I wish all food was like your cakes...no-cal, no-carb, no-sodium etc.

As for birthday...I cannot believe I am 71!! Where did all those years go? I ask this every year. Mostly I don't feel old...but do notice I move more slowly. The other day I was trying to workout to an aerobics video online (just 15 min) and I couldn't keep up with the young women at all. Guess I need to get back to my senior circuit training class....I use to be the most vigorous in that class but don't know how I'd be now. But inside I am still young.

Here are yesterdays' stats:
Cals 1572
Carbs 193 (net) A little high
Fber 55 also little high but hard to avoid when eating out
Fiber 35 !!
Sodium 3087H (Chinese food!) a

Rosey - I know some people really like quinoa but I haven't tried it. Let us know what you think. Flowers, now that's a nice Valentine's gift!! And helps you overlook some crankiness I think.

Karen3 - How sweet of your dh to think ahead with the roses! You are doing so well....do you feel strong enough on 800 cal? Good to hear about your dh's bs. Is it South Beach that you are on?

Karen31 - Still praying for Tim and will continue. And for you too.

Rosey and Maryea - Do try the quinoa! I make it using chicken stock instead of water, and I use a little more liquid than the package calls for. I love it. I use it in place of rice for a tasty side dish, and sometimes mix in some mixed vegetables with it.

Good Morning. I just had my delicious breakfast of spiru-tein, almond milk in a vitamix blender with ice. It is my way to star the day balanced and on track. Even though we were snowed in since Friday, I did not join the family in snacking and boozing it up. I stayed with my sensible eating commitment and I feel great.
