1: 192.6 - 1 mile
2: 192.0 - 1.5 miles
3: 196 - WTH??

I am holding on to some serious water weight! Like Vixsin I am SUPER BLOATED too! Arrgh...my rings are so tight and I feel so gross!

Well it was a nice little break! I enjoyed myself and I am ready to be focused on my weight loss goals again!

I liked CutieCourt's posting about 365 miles in 2011 so much that I decided that would be my resolution for this year. 1 mile each day, if not anything else. 1 mile is 12 to 15 minutes for me depending if I am running or walking. I KNOW I can squeeze 15 minutes in for a mile everyday.

On the first day I almost forgot and was up doing my run at 11 pm! LOL...then last night I almost forgot from all the last minute preparations to get everyone back to school/work. I was dyeing my hair at 11 pm and realized that I hadn't put in my mile! So I was running at 11:30 last night with my hair piled on top of my head trying to get it in before midnight! lol....That's pretty committed, right?

Anyway, it is so good to be back at work and I look forward to being in my normal routine. I tried to be careful while at home, but the lack of exercise really set me back and now I am having to start 7lbs heavier. Although I can bet that I am retaining a good 4 lbs of water!

Hopefully I will get some movement back on the scale in the next couple of days.

It is good to be back! I better get moving, lots to do on my first day back at work!

Just a quick shout out to Ona....YOU LOOK FANTASTIC! I am so very happy for you! YAY!

And FitKristi...what the heck are you doing that you are knocking down the pounds? I am so motivated by your recent losses! Please share, I am dying here!

Have a great OP day everyone!

Hugs,
Leah

Happy New Year!! After a pretty terrible month, I am baaaccckkkk!!! As predicted December was stressful, but I made it out alive I did however make my "goal" for the month - I started the month at 258, and wanted to stay until 260. Well on December 31st I was 256!! So I technically lost 2 pounds in December!

I have missed SO much, I can't believe the progress you all have made! Congrats

Ona - WOW, those progress pictures are AMAZING!!! Congrats

Jan 1: a bounce up to 167.6
2: 167.4
3: 166.6 (I refuse to be superstitious. It's down and that's good!)

The behaviors are entirely within your control. The results - well, sometimes your body can be stubborn. So make your goal what you do, and let what you lose flow naturally from that.
Well said! I'm guilty of this for sure! I set a goal of 15 pounds, end up losing a dress size and 10 pounds and feel like a failure. How silly! I'm trying to re-teach myself how to lose weight (also trying to get rid of the word "diet") and the number- thing is one of my biggest problems.

That being said, I am going to throw a freaking party when my scale shows me 1** which should be verrrrrry soon. Come on, onederland, I'm ready for ya!

Leah: Im glad you like the challenge! I hope it helps keep us on track. 7 miles average per week is very do-able and who knows, we may make it over 365!

Carter: I like having numberical goals, they help keep me on track. Without them I do not stay as accountable. I like to look at what I'm moving towards. I am not hard on myself and don't freak out if I don't make it I just try next time. I also track workouts and food intake, the # is just another addition to it all.

On to the daily weigh-in:

12-31: 244.6 DEC LOSS: 7.8
January 2011!!!!
1: 243.2
2: 243.0
3: 244.0 (too much sodium!) start w6.d1

Whatever works for everyone No judgment intended - I just wanted to offer a different perspective to folks who might be new, and accustomed to "lose 10 pounds by my birthday!" sort of thinking. It's been very empowering for me to let go of numerical goals and focus on achievements I actually have control over - but I'll try to control the impulse to be evangelical about it.

Wow, Kristi--219 to 212 in 3 days!! That's awesome no matter how you slice it Must make you feel good!!!

Ona-- I love the pics!! You look very good, and your hard work is shining through!!

Aimee-- Congrats on losing 2 pounds in December!!! You lost more than me! I lost .4, haha!

carter-- well said!! I totally agree. The numbers matter, but measuring your success in multiple ways is what is key. I may have only lost .4 in December, but I kept my splurges to 5 days rather than starting in November and ending in February like years past. I also ran a few times, including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. TOTALLY an accomplishment!

Blairsey-- you're doing awesome in 2011!!! Keep up the great work!

Sea-- down is down and you are down!!

Leah-- no worries about that bounce up, you ran so late and your muscles probably held onto that water since you went to bed soon after. The fact is, you realized you forgot and didnt let the time of day hinder you!! I would have just tacked it onto the next day but not you!! That's fantastic commitment!

Lizz-- You are well on your way to losing that 10 pounds! Nice work!!

Rita-- You are so right about the sense of accomplishment! When I know I worked hard and stayed on plan and my body feels lighter, I am practically running to the scale to see my progress!

Diana-- wheww! You are doing amazing!! I cannot wait to get myself down to those numbers. They are so close, yet every time I get 1 pound away from the 70's, I go and screw it up!! I'm finding it harder to break through to new decades mentally. It's like I'm scared to get closer to goal. Weird..

Vixsin-- TOM is never fun and I always have the same result you do. But as soon as it leaves, I have my whoosh

As for me..up .4 back to 187.4. Had some popcorn (no butter) at the movies last night so I assume that's where it came from. Frustrating though because I ran 2.2 miles yesterday and stayed OP otherwise. Oh well..I'm back to traveling this week, so I expect some nice results on Friday evening when I get home!

Akelly Hi stay safe while traveling for work. I think, as you lose, and get closer to goal, getting from one decade to the next is more difficult.

Boo! My husband, who is home from work today, decided to surprise me by making lunch. He made relatively healthy things (chicken, roasted potatoes, steamed broccoli), but because I didn't do the cooking, I don't know how much of what he used, so I'm not sure how to count the calories. Plus, I KNOW he used some butter in there!

It was better than what we would have eaten last week, so I am going to make some very liberal guestimates (meaning, I'm going to guess on the high side) and just be grateful he's going back to work tomorrow!

And, most importantly, I'm not going to let it derail me for the rest of the day!
