Question Restuarants

Hi : I am wondering if anyone else has the problems of eating out as I do.
I seem to loose control everytime I eat out. I get so mad at myself anymore.
So tomorrow is a new day hopefully.
I am just having a few problems lately staying on program.
I need a bit help.
It would be nice to hear from some of you . Sometimes I feel like the only one who has these problems.
Thankyou all so much
Hilde

Hi Hilde,

Trust me, you are not alone with this battle.............

Eating out is difficult, no doubt about it. Many restaraunts these days have a "lite fare" menu and sometimes will list the calories, fat, fiber, etc. Then, you just need to do a little computing for the points. I carry the Getting Started booklet with me and I can sort of eyeball the serving and look in the back of the book for the points. Also, If I know ahead of time that I'll be eating out, I will go easy on the munching to have extra points to bank and then I can enjoy the meal and not worry too much about the consequences.

Sometimes, I will go over points on one day, but will carry it over to the next. By the end of the week, I usually balance out. Not something I would recommend on a regular basis, but, if you eat out and go over a bit, it's not the end of the world. I weigh in on Sunday and try to make sure by Saturday morning that I'm where I should be for points. Don't want to give that scale any additional help..lol

Hang in there...you'll be fine.

Have a great week!
Suzanne

Hi Hilde..

Your've very welcome!

What sort of foods do you like. I've learned to get very creative lately to stay op and not feel deprived. I'll be glad to share what I've discovered by trial & error.

One biggie..and I was really bad about this, but, you need to measure your foods. I purchased the measuring set at a local WW center, and it does help..they have a flat bottom and won't wobble while your'e trying to fill it. After a few times of doing that, makes it easier to eyeball a serving.

Take care,
Suzanne

Smile I find this site helpful......

Hi Hilde. Before eating out I visit www.dwlz.com for her restaurant listings. Dotti's site has over 200 restaurants listed and quite a list of foods from their menu's. Then I can pre-plan what I'm going to eat or supplement a salad at home before I go. Another thing.....at ww weigh in centers, you can purchase a Dining Companion book. You don't have to be a ww member to buy their products, and this book lists lots and lots of restaurants (fast food, coffee shops and other). I find it helpful if "spur of the moment" we decide to eat out. Hope this helps.
