Unhappy Confession Time

I have to fess up . Late last night (should have been in bed), I succumbed to a bag of whole wheat pita chips I had hidden away. Not only succumbed, dove in head first!

I ate them all, every last crumb. Knowingly, deliberately without putting a scrap of chip in a bowl or taking much of a breath. (sigh)

So that shot 12 points since it was a 6 (!) serving bag.

I should have been in bed, I was still up finishing my tomato canning. I don't know what happened. Self sabatoge.

Back on track this am. Went to my water class and worked extra hard . Probably more effort than results, but I tried. So embarrassed as I am, I thought better to admit it publicly, instead of shoving it to the bottom of the trash can along with the very empty bag.

Onward.

awww...Ruthannie - don't beat yourself up over this too bad! Just get back on the horse. Everyone falls off at one point or another - the difference is that truly motivated people dust themselves off, and get right back on the horse without looking back. At least that bag of pita chips is no longer around to be a threat!

If it makes you feel any better I lost a battle with some M&Ms this afternoon. I was stressed out and thought that they would make me feel better. They didn't, but that doesn't meant that I won't do it again at some point down the road. I counted the POINTS and moved on, but it bothers me that my reaction to a stressful day was to go for chocolate.

We all do it, but you're right, confession is good for the soul.

Hugs,
Carrie

Thanks. I'm over it, but thank goodness they are gone and not whispering my name on the wind.

Almost time to leave for class. I must take a snack or I'll panic before dinner.

I did that with a bag of buffalo & blue cheese doritos last week. Same thing - late night chow fest. Luckily the bag was almost gone to start with but there were probably 4 servings left and I practically wanted to lick the inside of the bag when it was gone! I got the munchies last night too but had a bowl cereal and when that didn't work I dove into the 0 pts soup! I'm totally PMS'ing right now & have used 16 bonus points this week!!!! Luckily I can recognize what I did wrong, forgive myself & move on.

I must say im impressed at your honesty and willingness to face up to your actions! Everytime Ive gone overboard on points, I seem to have been MIA. And another thing....you accepted and MOVED ON!!! Im still working on that...a lot! I applaud your 'fessing up!

Red face

I'm still working on it too. I tend to take the hide your head in the sand approach or act like it never happened.

I went over points yesterday too- mostly due to poor planning or rather overly ambitious planning without a fallback position. I had mixed a pizza dough on Wednesday and intended to make veggie pizza last night . Which I eventually did. Took way longer than I expected (mostly because I was tired and hungry and not very methodical).

By the time I had the 2 point per slice pizza ready, I had eaten sunchips and guacamole (no big deal in and of itself). But I was still hungry for real food (both mentally and physically). I would have been fine with 2 pieces (4pts), but went for 4 (8 pts).

The pizza was a disappointment because I thought I'd try some fat-free mozzarella, which was a mistake. It doesn't melt and you might as well sprinkle shredded styrofoam on your pizza (which WOULD melt) . Next time, I'm using my usual part-skim cheese and accepting 3 points per slice (which is still better than any commercial pizza I have found.)

Since, after that, I was full, but still hungry in the head- I went for a snack cake which was 4pts (had I not eaten the sunchips and guacamole, that would not have mattered) and those evil pistachios .

So, lessons learned - if you really want something, make it the way you like it (no tricks); always have something else satisfying to substitute when your (kitchen) ambitions outstrip your time and energy.

I'm super guilty

I have a cheat once a week. I used to do it when I was going to the meetings with my mum, we'd weigh in and then head straight to McDonalds. This time though a cheat usually means a pasta dish or a chocolate bar. I feel like if I don't I'll go crazy.

Okay today is my guilty day.. I cant believe everything I have eaten and that I am still hungry. I have a little bag of the blazin' buffalo ranch Doritos no longer whispering my name, but I can hear it screaming my name all the way upstairs. My honey thinks im crazy when I tell him how some food talks to me, but im glad you ladies can understand! I started off great with my normal yogurt mixed with Kashi mountain meadly, then I had a pesto chicken sandwich and potato salad, then I had this pecan, chocolate, & carmel thing from this new chocolate store that just opened and then I had 2 pieces of godiva chocolate, dinner, more dinner and a ww turtle ice cream cup. How can I still feel hungry???

I've eaten everything in sight this past week and am still picking bits of the kitchen sink out of my teeth! Or at least that's how it seems! I started off bad by going to Chili's and eating my "usual" which amounts to close to 50 points!!! UGH! Then later in the week I ate a 10 inch pizza. I even gave up on counting points this week but I'm back on track now thank God!

Guilty! We keep some of those chocolate chip granola bars on hand for the kids for a snack (they amount to 2 points for 1 of them, which isn't that bad). So, I decided to have one for a snack yesterday afternoon. Well, I also had one when we got home from walking..... and then ate 3 more in a ROW after DH and the kiddies were in bed and I stayed up to watch Everybody Loves Raymond! Yep... 10 points worth of Granola Bars in less than a 5 hour stretch! Luckily I still didn't have to dive into my spare 35 points for the week..... but, I am still ashamed of my lack of will power over the granola! lol
