Hi Everyone I'm getting a slow start today...got enough sleep but I'm still tired. I'm excited tho... I've got the whole day tomorrow to "kidnap" as I called it when I told him about it my guy friend. Seems like the last few weekends have all been family time and I'm so tired of it! So I decided to go up there during the week and drag him out, just the two of us. Now I have to figure out what all we should do! Any ideas??
Jen...that's cool about the highlights...I'm sure your hubby will get used to it LOL. I've been thinking about dying my hair darker...I haven't dyed it since college and I usually go darker when I do.
Hi all! I lurked yesterday, but I'm back today. I have to pay the piper at WI today. I have a feeling its going to be really bad. I have had such a week of eating and not exercising. The only exercise I had was the one hour of football. The scale did not look good this morning before I left. Oh well, today starts a new week.
As far as BJ poll, I put that she should tone up a bit. The only reason I answered this is out of pure jelousy and the need to be catty. We all know that the screen puts on 10 lbs. She looks good and in real life is even thinner, so I had to cut her down some .
I hope everyone in the flood areas are OK.
Jen ~ I agree that you should probably cut back on the stress. With the full time job and Emma I can see that you are way streched for time. If that person doesn't want to make the needed changes, then I would probably give her notice and bow out. Thats just my opinion. Take care!
Tonya ~ The hair sounds great! Post a pic!
Trish ~ Good job on the Diet DP addiction. I love that stuff, except now I've moved into Diet Sprite. I'm trying to cut back on sodas myself but we get them for free at work. I love Ann Taylor! I have to go there this week to return a dress. I wore it once to the baby shower and it already has a snag. I have never had this happen to me with their clothes before, so I'm hoping they let me exchange it. Unfortunately I didn't get it on sale . I just hope they take it back...
Sarah ~ I think thats great that your hubby joined with you. My DH is naturally skinny so its a bit hard for me to lose the weight on my own. He is helping by working out with me. He's trying to bulk up and add more muscle (like he had in college). He was in a military org in college so he worked out a ton. DH is also helping me with the smoking thing. He has quit also and he stops me when I want to cheat. I'm sure ya'll will be good for each other!
Stacey ~ Good job on the loss! I think I caught what you lost! I'll find out at lunch!
Everyone ~ Hi there! I have to get back to work. I'll check in later...
Hello all. Can you tell I don't want to work today.
Kay: I am sure they will take it back. Is this the famed size 6 dress? Anyway, I think they will be fine with it. Hope so, anyway, or I would have to get mad. Oh, I like diet sprite too. But not Diet 7up. Funny how that works.
Shalyne: great idea to kidnap him. I have no ideas on what to do, but i will think on it. Let us know what you plan.
Jen: I hate it when volunteering goes wrong. I had a group like that. It just because too much stress so I had to quit. At first I felt really guilty, but now I am so glad I did. It was not worth the stress. Maybe it is time to move on to another opprotunity. Oh, I ment to say that Emma's Easter dress/hat sound so cute. Post a picture if you get one.
Stacey: Great job on the loss!!!!!! Have a nice boss-gone day!
Can you tell I am bored at work? We are having an all staff meeting at noon so I am goofing off. I am going to look for new recipes to try with hubby.
Trish - I am the one on Celbrex. I tried 3 other medication first before this one was prescribed. My insurnace company requires pre-authorization for it as well because I guess it is more expensive than the others. I see no reason not to use the others but they didn't work for me. And, I love Ann Taylor also. I went shopping there for my birthday presents from my grandmother. She wasn't up to shopping with me so she said I could pick out what I wanted. I got a lovely teal tank dress with coral flowers and the matching cardigan. Not cheap even on sale but I will get to wear it to many weddings this summer. The Anny Taylor outlet, the Loft, is very good also!
Kay - Move on to your new week and get back OP and into exercise! you can do it, you have the right attitude. You are doing so great on quitting smoking!! WI won't be too terrible.
Shaylene- "Kidnapping" sounds like fun. I never have any good ideas other than a movie or bowling. Have fun!
Jen - I totally agree with Kay's advice to put yourself first. you have been helping this lady for 12 years. Don't feel that you have to put yourself any more than you have if she isn't willing to work with you. I am sure it will work out.
Stacey - Sorry you are swamped. Come back for a break.
Forgive me for not posting to everyone. I wanted to say hi to all of you! Hopefully I will have more time later and get to post to each of you.
Brenda - Hey. Tonight's the night. I think the Av's can do it in four. I will try my darndest to stay awake... it doesn't start until 10:30 my time... so I'll be up until like 1:30am!!!! What's one night?
Girls, I'm so jealous of all the Ann Taylor talk. That is my most favorite store in the entire world, yet I've only been able to buy shoes, socks, and accessories there. I'm still shopping at Lane Bryant. I know I'm doing well, but it just seems so far away for me. Will I ever be able to shop in regular stores? It feels like it will never happen! UGH.
Trish - what is Celebrex. How does it work? What is it for?
Ladies, really... I will make time later to post to each of you. I just wanted to stop by and say hello and catch up on the reading!
tonya - glad to hear you still love your hair. mine hasn't been cut for ages and is approaching "eve" length (when your hair covers your boobs!). too scared to cut it yet! i always say i'll do it after i get married. so, in 30 years time it'll prob be the same. ho ho!
jen - i bet your hubby loves your hair, men are just rather pants at telling us these things! sarah - go for it - get the highlights! if you go somewhere good then they will just be a subtle change and you can dye over them if you don't like them.
trish - they didn't let her work out at all! hence the flabby looking arms. oh, and i think she didn't smoke real ciggies cos she doesn't smoke in real life... i read the other night that she was 5ft5 which doesn't seem tiny to me. i tell you guys something, i'd hate to be in the middle of a celeb party, i'd be so huge! but on the plus side there'd be plenty of space at the buffet table...
anyhow, don't know much about the next movie. but perhaps it will involve the mark/rebecca situation and the hole in the wall! we are all quite obsessed aren't we!? v. bridget.
cakes at work cakes at work! i am going to sit here and post to you girls till the gannets i work with have eaten them all.
hope nobody's house gets flooded. oh, and jen, your free time is yours and this woman needs to appreciate it. if it was me i'd be very tempted to tell her where to go. except for the fact i'm rubbish and i can't say no to people!
stacey - woo hoo on your loss! you can do it!! how many weeks till the big day now?!
kay - well done on not smoking still! and i'm sure you should be ok with taking your dress back. i took a pair of shoes back once that i'd worn quite a few times, but i figured that in less than a month the soles shouldn't have fallen off!!
shalyne - have fun "kidnapping" your friend!
lisa - i'm sure you'll get to shop in your fave stores soon, and you have to tell us all about it when you do!
right, cakes are over and i can relax! less than an hour till home time.
kirsty
ps lolly, hope you are having fun....
Just got a call from my "other" summer job. She is going along with my ideas.... YAHOOOOOO. I really love working with the fair, it's in my blood, so I would hate to give it up. I guess telling them that I will not do it unless there are some changes must have worked. How awesome for me. I just hope it all works out in the end.... She is a real pain in the arse.
Weigh in went really well. I am down 3.5 pounds!! AND I got my 5 pound sticker!!!
Jen: Doesn't it feel great to do something new?? I love having my hair done....it makes me feel so good. I am sure you dh loves it! I hope you feel better soon ie. TOM ick. It sounds like this lady that you volunteer for needs a swift kick in the butt! She obviously doesn't appreciate what you do. I would talk to her about what is going on on your life ie. new baby, working, dh= busy. I mean geez, you are doing this outta the goodness of your heart right??
Tonya: Pretty much the same message to you....glad you like your new cut! P.S *drink that water*
Sarah: Thanks for thinking of me today. My arthritis is still very bad...nearly missed my weigh in. I had to go alone with out Emma just cause I couldn't handle it.
BTW Great job on the 1 mile!!!!!
Hey Trish: I have been many different meds. Celebrex is one of them. Doesn't do much for me personally. I am on it right now although obviously it isn't doing anything. I also routinely get cortizone injections in my affected joints.
Stacey: Congrats on the .5 #'s (sorry to hear about all the work )
Kay: good attitude for the new week. you can do it!
If I misseed anyone I am sorry!!!! and Hi to you all!!!!
I'm very burnt out here at work....partly because I am sick of working till 9pm and driving home in the dark and partly because my bf is not giving me any kind of help~ okay and also partly because I think I may have pms, my period is 2 weeks late
So I'm trudging and I am going to write bf a letter/note....i know he will get defensive but i think he needs to help out with some things that seem to just appear on my to do list and not his. Plus he gives me **** for watching this one program in the morning but everytime that i get home at night he is watching tv. so what it is I can't watch tv but he can?? also, he made some comment last night about me "becoming a porker" that hurt my feelings. he can be such an insensitive a$$. ugh!!!!
okay anyways~ i wish I had BJ's body, I think she is perfect the way she is. As long as she doesn't have binging issues and such I say she's healthy.
Tonya~ that's awesome you love your hair! compliments are awesome too!
We just had the most delicious birthday cake today! They seem to have something to celebrate at nearly every staff meeting (they are not too frequent so it is ok) so I know to eat lunch afterwards. I ate a small piece of cake and tons of icing. It was my favorite kind too I don't care about the points, I will work it in and it is totally worth it to me.
Also, there will be a reception next Mon am to welcome the new Exec. Director. I like the advance warning so that I can plan my lunch and dinner
So I went to the meeting and now I'm an official WW member.
It was really informative, I already feel that I've learned a lot. Not so sure how I feel about my group leader last night, though. Glad I can mix up the meetings.
I'm going to need to make some changes, like eating breakfast for starters. I have NO appetite in the mornings (the only time of day I'm not interested in food, however) and breakfast hasn't been part of my routine since high school. I usually don't eat until eleven or noon. But a bowl of cereal is doable.
The part that surprised me most was the weigh in. I put on fifty pounds in two years, thirty of them within a few months. However, I haven't gained a pound in a year and a half. Steady, rapid gaining and then I stopped cold. Strange. I weigh exactly the same as I did last time I had a physical which was Nov. 1999.
So this is it, I'm OP, I'm going to the grocery store this afternoon and I'll make some vegetable soup, pick up lots of fresh produce.
I also haven't told anyone I know that I've joined WW. I guess I need it to be personal and I don't want anyone else holding it over me or judging me. It's very much my own drama and I don't want my Mom or my hypercritical coworkers involved. So I'm super glad I have this forum to learn more. Thanks so much.
Hi Everyone just a quick post, we got new computers and systems at work(the bank I work for merged with another BIG MESS) and the internet on it SUCKS, plus the screen is so small I can hardly see what I am writing!!!!! Anyway, I have been lurking but have not posted for a couple of days I think that BJ looks just fine, but I agree that why not just have an actress that is naturally the size you want play the part....I heard that Julia Roberts is putting on a "fat suit"(not my words) for her next movie. I think that they said it would add 75-80pounds?!?!?! Although she did say that she has a whole different take on what other women feel like...WHATEVER!!!! Well I should get back to this prison I call a desk and do something. I will try and write more later AFTER WI
Have a greeeeat afternoon everyone!
Steph
I REFUSE to change my sig. What did I tell you? I deserved a gain and that’s what I got. Up 2.4. I’m actually more thoughtful than I am mad. I don’t understand how I can have killer motivation for 2,3 even 6 weeks at a time and then I lose it, gain and it takes twice as long to find that hidden motivation again. I just don’t understand it. I wanted to be at goal by sometime this summer (preferable early summer). Do you realize it’s already the middle/end of April? I have 30 pounds to lose and I know it’s not going away in a mere 6 weeks! Oh yeah, I’m sure it’s healthy to lose 5 pounds a week When I put my mind to things, I succeed, so why can’t I just keep my mind where it belongs and get to goal? Sometimes I feel like such a hopeless case b/c I’ve been working at this for so long. It’s always something. We bought Taebo last year. That lasted 6 weeks. Then I said ‘when we get a dog, I’ll walk it every day’ I hate to admit it, but I don’t. My poor dog is walk neglected. Now I’m thinking ‘when I quit my job I’ll have plenty of time to exercise!’ NO!! Why can’t I just get down to business and do it now!?!?!?
I’m craving fried fish. Where the HE double hockey sticks did that come from? There has to be something I’m missing in my diet that’s making me crave things. I can’t even schluff it off on TOM either Jeez, who is this munchie monster in me lately? OK, now it’s potato chips. It’s that physical pull. Grrrrrrr There has got to be something going around b/c it sounds like a lot of us are having problems lately. Good to know I’m not alone in this.
On the poll I put that she could lose a few, but I agree with whoever said that it should be in toning, not necessarily lose weight. I don’t even want to get started on the Hollywood image thing!! Don’t know when I’m going to have time to see the movie, but did see ‘Behind the Movie’ on VH! It was pretty funny to hear them talk about making fun of Rene for her British accent.
Lisa: Thanks for asking about me. I’m going to try to go home and take a nap tonight before the game so I can make it all the way through. We’ll see if that really happens or not. Cup Crazy Baby Oh man, that’s right, you are 2 hours ahead of me. OK, so now I feel like a schmuck for whining about it. Hey, you wanna come over and watch the game with us?? *wink wink nudge nudge*
Jen: Did anyone notice your hair? Stick to your guns on the volunteer situation. Remember just that, you are a volunteer. If she really needs you, she’ll make the changes to accommodate you. Don’t feel like you have to rescue the situation at the expense of family and sanity!! Oh, she co-operated! Yeah!!
Sarah: Way to go on your run! I’m so impressed
Trish: I’m drinking a Diet Dr. Pepper! Good for you on cutting down. I think I have maybe 2-3? a week. My DH is the same way on hair. I know he really didn’t love it when I got 5 inches cut off after the wedding last year. I’m sure he’s very happy now though b/c since I’m growing my bangs out I figure I’ll grow the rest out too. I’m thinking about getting it layered so it has some body. It’s stick straight and hardly holds any curl. I hate to get a perm b/c it’s taken me so long to get it healthy. I tried to get my guy to go to WW with me as well. He wouldn’t but has come up with his own exercise routine and eating pattern. He can do it so easily on his own, it really frustrates me!
Stacey: Congrats on your loss!
Kay: You are doing such a wonderful job on the smoking! Keep up the good work. Hubby and I can’t wait until we have a basement so we can put a workout room down there. We really enjoy working out together (I love weights) but hardly get to do it with my hectic schedule.
Kirsty: I love reading your posts. When you say you are rubbish, what do you mean? Rubbish here is like junk or trash. Are you saying you are trashy?? Here we go with the British vs American lingo!
Angie: 3.5#!! Wow, that’s wonderful!!! That first five feels so good
Suzanne: Tell your b/f that he’s going to get his a$$ kicked by all of us for that comment!!!
Slinko!!! I’m so glad you joined. I think you will find that the program is very easy as far as how it works. Be prepared for some shocking point values on foods you thought were ‘OK’. It can be worked together though so you don’t feel deprived all the time. I didn’t tell anyone for a long time that I was on WW. It will come with time so don’t worry about it!
You know, just replying to you guys helps with things sometimes!
