Red face

*yawwwwnnnnn* I got home from my PL training, finished up some stuff for my party tomorrow night and here I am! I'm so hyped up about all the incredible stuff they are doing in April that I'm yawning and wide awake at the same time

I forgot to mention that since I have a training class all day tomorrow and a show tomorrow night that I won't be around tomorrow....I mean today...well Wednesday. Whatever! All I know is I'm going to go through withdrawls not being able to check in with you all!

I ended up at 22.5 points today. I'm so proud of myself. Ack! Which reminds me, I have to go hope that the place I'm eating tomorrow is on Dotti's website. My best friend and I are meeting for breakfast in the morning. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it tomorrow!

*hugs*

Morning All,

I am up finishing a paper (remember I am a procrastinator extrordinaire ). So I thought I would drop you a line. Thank you all for your kind words and compliments! Hopefully I'll have some full-length photos soon (well I have plenty of before but zero almost-afters).

Lolly: Your comments made me laugh, it's weird the perceptions that we get of other people (I've always pictured you as a brunette). Nope, I am a slavic looking (my dad is 100% Polish with an anglicized last name, my mom is slightly Polish too) Brunette with blue eyes But that's okay. I agree about the kind of "fat girl" face thing. Everyone confused me with this girl who was in all the same activities as me growing up. It drove me nuts and I am sure it drove her nuts as well (to top things off we could hardly stand each other buyt I digress).

Tonya: You look fabulous!

Everyone else, Take care and I'll see you later!

Hi Everyone Okay I'm not happy about being up at 5:30 esp since there is no reason at all to be. Sometime this afternoon I wound up coming down with something. I now have a sore throat and fever. UGH. Just what I need. I hate that I can't sleep right when I'm sick...just to make it worse. Okay enough whining LOL. Hope you are all doing well

Default mad on margaritas

so, from yesterday's poll it looks like almost half of us are intolerant to certain foods. pretty weird, huh?!

hey brenda - some good drinking was done last night. mmmmm. when we meet up lolly and i will bring over lots of duty free so we can get making cocktails - anyone got a recipe book!?
suzanne - hope you sort out the money situation.
stacey - have a great time in dallas/irving. enjoy the books!
emily/kim - it may be spring, but nobody told the uk. it's freezing here! and there was even some snow in london yesterday (more predicted for today). i'm going to have to go running (indoors on a treadmill of course!) at lunchtime just to get my circulation going. oh, and speaking of ankles, mine are never going to be delicate thin things. i'm pretty big-boned. we'll just need to make our own ankle bracelets (from chokers maybe?!).
sarah - glad you enjoyed BNL. i'll forward you the meeting up email.
julie - good to hear you are feeling positive.
shalyne- you never heard of veggie sushi?! i'm guessing you think sushi means raw fish, whereas actually (and here i quote from the OED!!) it a japanese dish consisting of small balls or rolls of vinegar-flavoured cold rice served with a garnish of vegetables, egg or raw seafood. so you can get veggie sushi!! and it is yummmmmmmmy.
lolly - is your tiger like hobbes (from calvin and hobbes)? you can look at the subway menu online and it tells you calories etc so you can work out the points. i always go for the veggie with cheese. i think it is 3.5 UK points (and that includes the cheese!).
trish - hope the trade show goes well.
tilley - hope you managed to stay within points for dinner - it's so hard going out isn't it?! cool veggie website, i reckon i'm going to get the WW veggie recipes cookbook now!
tonya - you look fab. i love seeing everyone's piccies. i must bring in some photos to scan at work.
lori - go and exercise. 1- it makes you feel good after, 2- you look good after, and 3- you can eat more after!

ooh, i had to choose other on the poll cos i love cats and dogs. megan + tass (dogs) would want me to vote for them, but torti 1 and torti 2 (cats) would want me to vote for them. and i used to have a hamster as well (charcoal) so i really can't pick a favourite!!

hokey, enough waffling from me. speak to you girls later,
love kirsty

Good morning.

Shalyne, I hope you feel better.

Lori, my hip-hop class is in Boston (really Brookline on Comm Ave). I'm a member at Healthworks in Brookline and I love it! It helps that the gym rocks... I think that's why it's so easy to go. It's all female - so I never have to worry about being self concious in front of cute boys. Also, the locker room is awesome. Nice carpeted floors, great lockers, built in hair dryers, lotion on the counters, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna.

And the gym is awesome. They have a cardio theater - where all the cardio equipment is in this room with four movie screens and you can watch whichever screen you want and plug your earphones into the console. And also, there is a rock climbing wall that looks SO awesome and my goal is to try it out by this summer. I figure I should lose at least 15 more pounds before I trying climbing up some wall.

Sorry for going on like that - I just love my gym.

Kirsty - I hope I stayed withing my points too, but I just don't know. We went to this cool place for dinner, but it was more of a martini bar so the menu was pretty limited. They had these gormet pizzas - and I got one of those. And I have NO idea how to count it.

Maybe you guys can help me figure how many points it was:

The pizza was the size of a dinner plate. The good thing was you could either get pizza sauce and cheese OR hummus. So I got hummus which saved me from all that cheese. it was just pizza crust (about an inch thick), hummus and barbaque chicken. I ate half and gave the other half to my roommate when I got home. So for my half... this is my guestimation: 2 tbsp. hummus, 4 ounces chicken breast, bbq sauce and then the crust. ANd I still don't know what to count for the crust. 2 points for the hummus, 3 points for the chicken... and ??? for the crust. I'm guessing 10 points for the crust.

Okay - sorry for being so verbose. I'll stop now!

Everyone have a good day.

Lisa

Default I'm back!!!

I was in training yesterday, so I still have to play catch up here. This board is so active that it will take me a while. As far as the polls: I think I have a food intollerance for high-fat foods. I have gall bladder problems and I always get an attack if I eat deep fried anything. WW has really minimized my attacks. The last one I had was at Christmas in New Orleans when me and DH went to the Camilia Grill and I had their home made onion rings. Great tasting but hurt something awful when I got home. I worry that this gall bladder thing will be bad if I ever get pregnant. I just have to hope for the best. As far as favorite pets, I choose cats. I used to have a great dog, but I have had some bad experiences with them lately. I guess the dogs I met were just very unpredictable. For the most part dogs are sweet, though.

I would love to answer everyone, but that would be a really long message .
Ali ~ You look great! You are such an inspiration!

Lisa ~ I would only count the 1/2 crust as 3 pts. It looks like you made a good choice! I love hummus. Your gym sounds awesome! I wish there was something like that here. I just quit my gym because it was aweful. Luckily my apartment has a little workout room. I'm on the hunt for a dance class to sign up for.

Lolly ~ I understand the language thing. When I was in Mexico for the honeymoon I was able to communicate pretty good in spanish because in Texas we learn it in school. I guess I overestimated my linguistics skills because one time this man was trying to sell us something and I was really mean by accident. I meant to tell him that I didn't like what he was selling, but it came out as "I don't like you". I still feel bad about that and DH makes fun of me about that too!

Well, I gotta do some catch up work. Good job everyone!

Kay

P.S. - At WI yesterday I was down 1.6#! Only 5.8 away from goal! I am so excited!

Kirsty: Yeah my ankles will NEVER be small enough for an ankle bracelet. I think in general woman are getting larger boned, so maybe they'll one day make ankle bracelets to fit the rest of us.

Kierie: Yup I have had that too, where the one resemblance is hair colour and fat. I have been overweight since I was 8 so it;s weird to see a slim face staring back at me.

Lisa: Your gym sounds awesome, I have to do gym shopping soon for next year! Hopefully I'll find a gym where the membership is less than $400 a year (yeah right I am sure). I don't know if I want to join the Y or not. I'll see.

Brenda: 22.5 points rocks!

Take Care!

Belle.. way to go. down 3? that's awesome.

KAY!!!! OMG! I know the Camilia Grill !!! I live in Boston now, but I'm originally from the Mississippi gulf coast (about an hour from NO). My sister used to live across the street from that place. It was SO GOOD. ALthough I know it was like all grease. Okay - now I'm home sick. It's jsut funny to hear about that place, because it's not right there in the quarter so it's not one of those places everyone goes to when they're in NO. It's like a best-kept secret type place. They have AWESOME breakfasts there. Sorry - just needed to say cool. And congrats on 1.6! way to go!

Default Panic sets it ...

Two days until I leave for vacation and I have so many things to do! I figure I won't start packing until Thursday night, but it turns out I'll also be interviewing at a newspaper in Florida while I'm there. So that adds a whole new set of worries to everything. I can never relax, not even while I'm on vacation! I swear, the best way to relax is to get out of the country. I did that last year by going to Jamaica but I couldn't afford anything like that this year! AHHHHH! I have to get story clips together, find an outfit to wear to the interview ... and still work like a fiend for the next two days.

On top of that, I go to WI in about a half-hour and I don't think I lost anything. I guess I only half-heartedly tried ... the lack of willpower seems to be pretty strong these days. I'm actually not worried about eating on vacation, though, my mom will be watching what I eat for me! She lost a lot of weight on WW and cooks pretty healthy, too. But yikes ... I'll be in a bathing suit part of the time. I hate wearing a bathing suit.

Well, chickies, I better get going. I'll check in with a status report later!

Hey everyone! I did manage to drag my *** to the gym last night-whoo hoo! And i stayed within my points. I also bit the bullet and tallied my Japanese food points(INCLUDING the MaiTai) and was only over by one!!!
Hopefully this will all show up in WI tomorrow...

Shalyne-hope you feel better
Brenda-Congrats for staying on points!
Belle and kay-Congrats for losing-hope I will be able to join the 'losers' club this week...
Lisa-Thanks for the gym info-too far for me though
Kim-Have fun on vacation

And to everyone-I can never find anklets to fit either-I have killer calf muscles and have a hard time with tall boots as well....and I don't consider myself super huge either...they must be made for small boned people!

Bye everyone-more later-got to go eat lunch...Lori
PS I tried weighing myself at the gym last night but someone had turned the scale around to Kg-it was so funny...trying to do the calculation!!!

Default hey there!

ankle bracelet dilema: Well, I can get it around my ankle, the problem is is that it is way to snug. I really think that If I finish losing the weight I can wear it. You know while we were out shopping, we did see ankle bracelets that did come in sizes. There was the regular and the "extra large" and I thought well I'm thin enough I don't need that size! Huh! was I EVER WRONG!!!!!!! Oh well I am going to be optimistic about this whole thing. The regular size will fit me!

Hubby and I went to the grocery store last night and spent a fortune on decent food. My DH has decided that he needs to eat healthier to (finally) and workout with me. He is as skinny as a rail, so he is primarily doing weight lifting to bulk back up again.

Hey on a postive note, unexpectedley I discovered that I have gone down a whole bra size! Hooray! Course the scale still does not show a loss, but I will persevere and continue to hope for the best. This stupid plateau has to dissolve eventually.

Well, must run, kids are bellering for food. I probably won't be around to much today. I am doing once a month cooking again with all the food we bought last night. I'll try to chat later though!
