  • Hi All,
So far my birthday is going great!
I went to Burger King for breakfast. Yes, really I did.
For lunch, I went to a specialty grocery store (Central Market) and bought a pasta salad for my lunch.
Tonight, we're going out for seafood. I plan on being unhealthy and ordering fried shrimp. Tomorrow is a new day to exercise and stay within points. I think that at my advancing age I should have fun today.

    Take care all.
    Tina
  • LOL to the advancing age! Go for it Sweetie!!

I think the shrimp sounds yummy. I also think that the Mongolian Barbecue sounds like a place that I'd like to go. Should we all meet there? It might take me a while to get there, so you guys can order without me. lol

We've been working on house cleaning and Eagle project stuff. I think I'll be ready to leave for vacation on the 20th!!!
  • Howdy!!

Tammy, Girl if you get bored with your cleaning, come on I have closets to do! Actually, I just satarted my cleaning today. I plan on getting all closets and drawers cleaned before school starts again.

Tina, so what did Larry get you? It sounds like you had a great birthday!

Sis, So how are you celebrating your birthday? Hope you have a great day! Happy Birthday!!

Well.... my principal is moving to the new high school next year! Boo! I'm going to see about transferring and teach sign language. I'm not going to get excited until I know it is a done deal.

I weighed in and was very pleased with my results. Oh, by the way, I went to the knee dr. on Monday. He said I was doing excellent and I don't have to go back until my 2 year anniversary date. I can do anything I want I'm not suppose to run or jump. I can even start riding my horses again. YEA!!! I started back to Curves too. I've been every day this week.

Ok now I think I've written enough. I better go cheer the Spurs on!!!!
  • I went to Curves this morning for the first time in 3 1/2 weeks! The owner came right over to me and "scolded" me because she has missed me. lol
It really felt good to go. I need to get back into the habit. I have to have Tim in town for the Leadership Academy every morning this week, so I think I'll just plan to go to Curves.

Food and water have been good so far today. No sunshine and rainy. Ready for a short nap. I think the dog is too!
  • Hi remember me...I get so aggrivated at this computer sometimes...I hope you all relate...can't get on can't post and just don't get notified...

planning onhaving a house built this summer..so finding land and doing all that bank stuff...
    better scoot..
  • Hi everyone,
We have had rain, rain, rain. The sad thing is that in another month it will be a drought and wish we had some. My garden is growing is producing soooo many vegetables. Wish ya'll were all close enough so I can share.

I've had headache ALL day long. TOM came to visit and brought me a headache. I've taken so much medicine to kill it off that I'm sick at my stomach. Just about ready to call it a night.

I hope I have a good loss this week but I probably won't since I had a big one this past week. Wish I was 1/2 way there but since I just got started I have to be patient.

Sheree, keep up the good work! You are doing great!!

Tina, how in the world are you girl?

Tammy, I went back to Curves on Monday and went 4 times this past week. It sure did feel good.

Sis, how was your birthday? Did you do anything fun?

It's been pretty quiet around here lately. How is everyone doing?
  • As y'all can tell, I haven't been online this week.
Monday afternoon (on my birthday), an Abilene, TX police officer called me. My father-in-law was found dead in his home. It was natural causes. He was 83 and in failing health.
I had to wait 10 minutes until Larry got home and tell him. That was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I was shaking, I was so upset and nervous.
We drove 6 hours to Abilene the next morning. The funeral was yesterday. He will be buried in North Carolina. So, we must fly there this Wednesday.
We got home this evening. Needless to say, I haven't been eating much. I don't know if I've lost anything because I've been drinking diet drinks like they were going out of style.

I hope everyone has a good Father's Day.
    Tina
  • Tina,

I'm so sorry for you loss! Please know that you and Larry are in my prayers!

    Susan
  • Tina,
I am so sorry for you loss...how awful to go through know you are in my prayers too!!!
    Take care of yourself!
    Sheree~
  • Tina, I am so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Just know our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. ((((hugs))))

Sheree, way to go! Keep up the good work.

Auntie, my birthday is the 19th, I thought Tina's was the 16th, not sure where I got that idea. But as for what I will do for my birthday.... I want to go to the Mongolian Barbaque. I LOVE that place. I may splurge but it will be a lot more healthy than other places.

Hope everyone else is having a good week end. Take care Tina, and everyone.....Sis
  • Tina, I'm so sorry about your father-in-law. It is so hard to lose a parent, no matter how old we are. You and your family are in our prayers. Take care.
  • Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We can sure use them.
On Wednesday, we fly to North Carolina for the burial. We checked the Bereavement Fares but found a cheaper one on Travelocity.com. We've got to change planes in Atlanta. I've never had much luck with flights that weren't non-stop.

How did everyone do over the weekend?????
    What were your challenges?
My challenge was not drinking too many diet colas. I must say that I failed miserably. Hopefully, tomorrow I will drink lots more water to get ready for our flight.

    Tina
  • Tina bring a book to read or something to do...I saw on the news last night that there is a back up at some airports due to the security...so maybe it would be nice if you has something to occupy your mind instead of getting nervous and or angry for the wait. You will do well and under this situation be as strong as you can be...don't take too many steps back but don't stress out about eating for the next few days.
    Good luck.
  • Sheree,
That is wonderful advice. I have a couple of new magazines that I will take.
Larry has been sick and now I have an atroucious sore throat. My doctor sent me some antibiotics to take. I'll probably be too weak to worry about stressing out.
    Thank you again.
  • I agree about Sheree's advice. I always have something with me to read when I fly or even when I'm riding in a car. I try NOT to read while I'm driving! lol

When Tim and I flew to Florida 2 years ago, we had to change planes going and coming. We didn't have any problems. So far the Charlotte, NC airport is our favorite of the ones that we've been in.

My challenge is always staying away from the REAL Pepsi. I love the stuff. I figure I'm doing good if I'm drinking Diet, even lots of them.

Bob's brother had a heart attack last night. He's 51. He is a truck driver and wasn't feeling the greatest. He managed to get the truck off the road and flag down some help. He is in a hospital on the other side of Ohio. Bob and my SIL drove there this morning. His brother told him that he's getting out of the hospital tomorrow. The nurse or doctor laughed and told him that he'll be lucky if he gets out sometime this weekend. He will be having open heart surgery, but not sure how soon that will be.

We are supposed to leave for Georgia on Friday afternoon. We'll have to see how things are going. I don't think the surgery will be right away, so we may go ahead and go. Bob needs to get away.
