Greetings everyone!

Viola, welcome back here.

Tammy, I'm glad you are doing better. Do not, I say again, Do Not overdue anything, especially exercise until you are recovered. As Susan said, we are all "mother hens" here taking care of each other.

Today has been a really lazy day. I walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes this afternoon. I didn't break much of a sweat, though.
My husband told me not to worry because I needed to rest after working so hard getting ready for Christmas. He's a sweetheart!!! I cut and froze some of the turkey and we went out for hamburgers.
I'm not following any kind of diet plan this season. I don't want to even look at my scales.

Susan, do you watch Oprah? I bought one of her "O" magazines for the first time. I got the January issue. It's a slick book. I'm impressed. It has some good things in it.
I have some money from my father-in-law that I might use to get a year's subscription to "O".

Yes, we got our son's TV up to his apt. They got it all set up and also the DVD my sister gave him. Lucky fellow!!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Susan, I'm so glad you are doing so well. I'm sure Pat wants you to hear his band but do what the doctors tell you.

Later,
Tina

Susan, I laughed when I read what Tina said about doing what the doctors tell you. I was going to type that I think you should sneak out to hear Pat's band!!! Now you know why I always get into trouble!!! lol

Tim is feeling better. Eating more solid foods without problems, so I think he has down great. We go for a follow-up appointment on Monday.

Planning to go to Curves this morning, I will not overdo it, believe me. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and had to rest after I walked from my car into the store. I'm pitiful!

I have Dr. Phil's book. I think that's the one I have. It really makes alot of sense. I should get started on it and a real On Program year.

I think I'm going back to bed for a while. I've been up since about 3:00. Just couldn't sleep. Curves doesn't open until 9, so I think I have plenty of time.

Boy, I didn't mean to sound like "a stick in the mud" for saying to follow the doctor's orders.
That made me sound so conservative !!!!!!!

Tammy, I'm so glad Tim is doing okay now.

We are going to tackle putting the border up in our bathroom. We didn't have time to do it before our company came and have been too busy since then. Today is the day. Hope I don't make too big of a mess.

Tammy and Tina,

Ya'll are the best!!!! I would love to go watch Pat's band play but as of right now, I can't wear any long pants because my knee is so sensitive. I have this funny feeling that it's still going to be. I honestly don't think I would be able to sit for 8 hours (from the time we leave home, get the equipment, they set up and play, then home again) I'm planning on staying at home. I really want to do EVERYTHING right!

Tammy, if it were a little farther out timewise.... I would go! I like to break the rules too It must be a teacher thing.

Tina, You weren't a stick in the mud. Like you said to Tammy about taking it easy..... "We all watch out for each other"

Oh my gosh! My SIL put the boarders up in the kitchen and bathroom before we moved in here. Both of my SIL's are quite talented when it comes to that kind of stuff, and sewing, and cooking, and everything else in the world. I am the world's biggest klutz!

I went to Curves this morning and made it through all 3 cycles (or whatever they are called). BUT I took rest breaks. The owner was keeping an eye on me the whole time. I was supposed to get weighed and measured on the 15th. We're just waiting until January 15 to do it since I've hardly been there at all.

I'm slowly (and I mean slowly) taking down Christmas things. I always have so much sitting and hanging around that I like to take my time so the house doesn't look completely naked all at once. lol

Hello,
I never take down the decorations until New Year's Day. Our tree still looks pretty good. It's just now starting to droop a little.

Can y'all believe it's almost New Year's Eve!!!!!!!
Susan, I'm glad Pat understands that you need to stay in. All that extra riding around in the car wouldn't do it any good.

We will go out to eat and maybe to a movie. I'm starving for seafood. There's a good place not too far from us.
Now, the movie is something else. It's so hard to eat and then get there in time. We might just rent one and come home.
We're not "party animals" anymore. Come to think of it, we really never were.

Anyone going to a party?

We're staying home with a shrimp tray. We're not getting it from Red Lobster this year. Bob's going to get 3 small ones at Wal Mart for cheaper than the one we usually get at RL. That will save us the drive too. It's at least 40 minutes to the nearest RL. Bob will just bring the shrimp home when he gets off of work.

I had thought about telling Tim to invite some friends for movies, etc. that night. But, I decided that we'll wait another year for that.

We aren't party animals either! We normally stay in where we know we are safe. The last 2 years, Pat's band has played so that is where we've been. I'm having my last home physcial therapy and watching tv.

I love seafood. Red Lobster is one of my favorite places to go! Yum!! I told Pat this morning that I wanted a big hamburger from Chili's when he felt like getting out. Nothing like thinking of food in the middle of the night! I was thinking about it at 3 am.

Be careful out there! Tammy, how is the weather in Ohio? Tina, is it still foggy down your way?

Happy 2003

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We had a very nice one with the exception of my mom getting pneumonia and having to put her back in the hospitol yesterday. I think she is going to be ok though. Her lungs aren't good (emphezema) so that makes it harder for her to fight it. But with Gods help she will be fine. I don't think I did as badly at straying off program this holiday as I did at Thanksgiving but I did splurge quite a bit. Next weeks WI will tell, huh? Hope everyone has a GREAT week...Sis

Oh, Sis , I am so sorry about your mother. My prayers are with her and you.
Congrats for doing better at Christmas than Thanksgiving.

I got on my treadmill this morning and walked for half an hour. It felt so good! I had oatmeal and hot tea for breakfast.
For lunch, I had a Subway roast beef w/mustard. (I can't stand mustard but decided to forgo even the lite mayo.)
For supper, we are having veggies and more veggies.
Water---I've had 4 glasses so far today. That's lots better than it's been over the holidays.

I love talking to Sis, Kady, Tammy, and Susan but---- where is everyone else?????!!!!????
I hope just because we don't always call everyone else by name that people get their feelings hurt and don't post.

Everyone have a fun New Year's Eve.----I'll probably post tomorrow.

(Tammy, I knew you always got a tray from RL but thought y'all might go to town this year. )

Sis, hope your mom is feeling better soon! I've had bronchitis since Thanksgiving and it isn't fun! Prayers are being sent her way.

it has been about 50 degrees here today and raining. Had to take Tim for his tooth appointment this morning and it was pretty foggy. The snow is melting, but there was quite a bit to melt. I don't know what it's supposed to be like the rest of the week, but not as warm.

Tammy, how is Tim doing?
I hope everything is healing properly.

It's hot and humid here. We had a little rain earlier and are supposed to have bad storms tonight.
Would you believe, I have the a/c going and it's the end of Dec.

Howdy,
Well, it has rained, rained and rained some more today! We had some major storms. The dog still hasn't come out from hiding.

Sis, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. She will be in our prayers.
Tammy, are you feeling better yet?
Tina, I agree with you. Just because we don't mention everyone , we still miss them. Where is everyone? Let us know you are doing ok.

Please have a safe & Happy New Year's Eve!

Good Morning! I've been lurking for awhile now, and would very much like to join your thread. I tried yesterday to post but for some reason it wouldn't work, so I'm hoping it comes through today.
I'm 38 years old and living in Illinois. My 3 children and I moved to Illinois in September 2001 and I married for the second time in October of the same year. I am originally from BC Canada and met my present husband online. After going back and forth for two years we decided that we were "meant" to be together and hence our present day situation.
Moving and living here for the past year has been a big adjustment for my kids and myself, but we are finally feeling like it's "home". I recently got back to work and now I'm looking forward to 2003.
My goals for 2003 include getting healthy and losing weight. I plan on following (from home) the WW point plan as well as walking at least 15 miles a week to begin with (I work in a school and have access to the gymnasium).
So I'm hoping I can offer support and encouragement here as well as look for it when I might need it.
If someone could give me a brief overview of how your thread started...how it works...and any other pointers that would help me out I would appreciate it.
What do I need to do?
Thanks for reading and I hope to get to know you all better in the New Year!
Cheers!
Cindy

Welcome, Cindy!!!!! We are so glad you decided to join in the fun here. There are several Canadians here so you can hear how things are doing back home.

About our threads--yes, we have two of them----Thursday Chatters and Thursday Weigh-In Results.

I started the Thursday Weigh-in Results thread back in 1998 or '99. (Someone help me here-when was it?)
Back then, I wanted some support and I weighed at WW on Thursdays. It got where we not only posted our weekly scale results but also talked, talked, talked. Hence, we added the Thursday Chatters .
Not everyone follows WW now or weighs in on Thursdays. We are just one big (oops), happy family here. There are no rules. We give each other support and suggestions.

Do you have a specific amount of weight you want to lose?
Please post as often as you want. We are so glad you are here!
