Okay---
Tammy-- do you have my low fat fudge recipe?????

Susan, that is sooooo great that you get to go home, even for a few days. Wow, you get to fly, too. Are you going Southwest?
The one time I flew to SA, I took Southwest.
Have a great time.

Sis, where are you girl? You haven't commented on my review of Santa Claus 2.

I'm the busy bee--I am staining a plain old chest of drawers. We bought this thing at Target when my mother was going to stay with us. I'm putting a dark walnut stain on it. So far, so good. I've done the drawers and will tackle the chest this morning.

Oh, read the weigh-in thread for my results.

I thought that I had a lowfat fudge recipe, but can't find it in the recipe box. I'll check a couple books that I have later.

What a crazy week! Our school superintendent announced his retirement as of the end of the school year. This morning we had a meeting, and they announced that the HS principal will become the Supt. I think he'll do a good job. Hope he straightens up my principal when he gets into that position. We were all hoping our guy would be leaving, but no such luck. Bummer.

Tim is at a basketball scrimmage tonight. Bob and I went out for supper. Mexican! Yummy. Tried not to overdo it. Tomorrow after school we have the closing on the refinancing of our house. Interest rates were so much lower than we bought the house, we just couldn't pass it up.

Hi, This is the first time I've posted this weekend because of the server move.
Tammy-I hope you can find that fudge recipe for me.

Okay, I have to share this poem with everyone.

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING, BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP,
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS, I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.
THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED - THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
> >
I GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.
I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
> >
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL, PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY, MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP,
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS.

HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!

Hi guys,

I'm back from SA. I had a great trip, it was fast and furious. It was great getting to see everyone. The baby is getting so big! Pat and I drove back this afternoon.... we've only been home a short time.

Tina, I love that poem. It's great!!! When you make that fudge, save some for me! I want a copy of it when you get it.

Welcome Back Maureen!!!

Tammy, so what do you have in store for this week? I'm sure Mr. Tim is up to something?

Have a great weekend (what's left of it)

Hi everyone

Well it's the start of a new week & I'm determined to be good. I bought a juicer yesterday(just a cheap one) because I really don't like veggies that much but I will drink them. I just came back from a walk & then went to the exercise room in our apt bldg before I came home. Didn't do too much but they do have a few interesting machines & some weights. If i only knew how to use them!!

The Grey Cup was yesterday & it was played here in Edmonton. Edmonton was in it but lost to Montreal. I guess this game is equivalent to the Super Bowl-I don't know very much about sports but I live with sport freaks. It was exciting though to host the game & have the home team playing.

Well I hope we all have a good week.

take care

Maureen, I'm not a sports nut either, except when Tim is participating!! lol He has his first basketball game this Saturday, and I won't be there. I'm going away with my shopping buddies. He said it's OK because he probably won't get to play. He's probably right, but I hate to miss it if he does get into the game.

Susan, this week is pretty calm believe it or not. We only had school Mon. and Tues. No big activities for Tim that I have to be concerned about, just getting him to practice today and Fri. morning.

We're going to my aunt's house tomorrow. It will be nice. I'll be making deviled eggs and green bean casserole to take there.

Tina, no luck on the fudge recipe. Sorry!!

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. We are having a pretty quiet day here.

Went for my pre-op appointment yesterday and class. It took most of the day. I quess it is really going to happen!! I'll be getting a new knee. I'm getting very excited and a little nervous. Not sure why I'm getting nervous but am. I'm actually relieved that it's happening!!

Hope everyone enjoys all the goodies tomorrow.

Hi!!!
I bet everyone is busy having a great weekend.
A question for all our Canadians----do y'all have something like our Thanksgiving and when is it?

I've been totally wiped out today. I woke in the night with that feeling you get just before getting sick. I don't have a sore throat yet but have been sneezing my head off.
I had so many plans for today but did none of them.
I'm still working on staining a chest of drawers. I've got to strip 3 of the 4 drawers and redo them. Yuk! So, if I'm better tomorrow, after church, I'll get outside and strip the drawers.

Larry has been working on the little bathroom. We took the doors off the cabinet in there and got some really neat trim to put on each shelf. He has sanded and prepped it all and will put on the under coat tomorrow. Then, during the week, I can paint the "real" paint. I got a pretty yellow for the walls and an off-white for the ceiling, trim and cabinet.

I'm making this a long post. Hope you can remember all I'm saying.

Have a good Sunday.

Howdy All,

Hope everyone is doing well.

Now Tina, Don't you be getting sick on us!! Start taking vitamin C. I don't know if that really works but that is what my mom and aunt always say. So I guess it must do something. How is that chest of drawers coming along?

Maureen, how is Canada? What is the weather like there? Now don't ya'll celebrate Thanksgiving in October?

I'm off to pick up a few things at the grocery store. I made cookies on Friday and Saturday night. So I guess it is officially the holiday season. I always make my Christmas sugar cookies right after Thanksgiving or the first part of Dec. I also made a batch of Monster cookies. They are so yummy! However, I've decided that it is much more fun to eat my little sister's than make my own. Her's are the best.

Have a great day. I'm going to get outside some to see if I can get rid of the blues that I've had for several days. Not sure what that's all about but I have them and I hate feeling that way.

Have a great one!

Hi all

Tina & Susan, yes we celebrate Thanksgiving the second monday in October.

Today it's snowing a bit but it's not too cold(for Edmonton).

I managed to be pretty good last week as far as food goes but fell off a bit on the weekend. I did walk to work 3 days last week and todays monday so back to the juicing & watching the junk food-mainly sweets.

I hope you all have a great day & will try to post daily

Just stopped in to say hello to all! Pretty busy around here, as I'm sure all of you are. I'm trying to be in bed by 10:00 each night (not making it tonight). I'm feeling run down and having sinus problems. I don't want to miss any school so I'm trying to get as much rest as possible.

I'll try to post more soon.
