Janet! ...so good to hear from you! I have wondered how wet and safe you are! I fear hurricanes, like you fear fire.

I guess it's all what you get used to.
Don't get me wrong, I do fear the fire! While it has gone on past us, it is still threatening others. The sites are absolutely breathtaking. But really puts a knot in the stomach. The flames are just relentless. There have been scenes on t.v. of men refusing to leave their homes, 1 man had to be physically removed by fire crew from his home which was fully in flames. So sad, and heart wrenching. I'm sure there are similar scenes in your area with the hurricanes. There is a very large park down the road from us, which is used as a staging area for the firetrucks, police etc. Very heartwarming to see units from all over the state taking turns on the fireline. Some resting on cots as they wait their turn to return to the line. The news just updated the area burned to 35,000 acres in five days, it is 35% contained.
Regarding my dear sister!!! She told me yesterday that the chemo doctor told her that what she has in incurable, it is a terminal disease. BUT!! he 'extended' her prognosis. he says she could have 2 or 3 yrs (he previously said 8-9 months with chemo)
We're all making the most of what ever time it is. Research is still underway, and who knows what is about to be discovered that could save her life and many more!?!?!
I too have gained back all I ever lost...it is a real battle! I hope you are able to figure out a way to combine all yor needs in a good and healthy eating plan.
My dd called last night and wants me to go to Texas with her. I have that cousin of my dad's that lives near Houston that dd wants to visit with, regarding family history, she seems to have a lot of info and is anxious to share it with us. so, with sis's new prognosis, I might pull myself away...I wish now, that we had kept the Oct date.

What is Texas like in Dec-January??
