Default Thursday

Hello all. Well, I don't believe that I get to start today. I have been able to lurk a little more these last few days. First, Happy B-Day Yesterday Jen. And don't worry Jen and Tonya, I am 31 and will be 32 in September. For you newish people that don't know me, you may wonder why I post on 20-something. Well, this may give you a clue as to how long I have been posting here. Really, I was 28 when I started. Wow, that is a long time.

Anyway, Alex is great and napping right now! Yah on that! I really need to do laundry. It is endless. We were going to go for a jog, but then Alex fell asleep so I guess that is on hold.

Hello to everyone,

Trish

I miss you! Hope you are doing well and that you are able to stop by a little more often.

Jen - Happy belated birthday! Did hubby snap out of his funk long enough to help you have a good b-day? Are you doing anything special??

I'll be back later!

Hey all.... yup, I am now 30!!! I had a meeting last night, so my night sucked. Was very sleepy during it, so didn't do much. Got home and hubby and Emma made me a card on the 'puter. Emma loves the computer. Also got a Massage package that includes a facial. Yummmm..... had one last month and thoroughly enjoyed it. 1 1/2 of pampering!

Oh and we went out to lunch and I tallied my points the best I could.... I was even. YAHOOO. That NEVER happens. Hoping to be good today also. If I am, then I am 3 in a row. Not getting a lot of exercise since Vegas tho, don't have any time. Hope to this weekend.

HEY TRISH....

Kirsty, have fun sailing. My parents are going to Ireland for a week and I am super jealous. They just booked it, kind of a spur of the moment. They are going the end of August.

OK, back to work. I haven't eaten much this morning because I am not very hungry. This is VERY rare, so I am working with it!

Hey Everyone!

Happy B-Day Jen! I know I've been pretty MIA this week - and it's pretty much since I've been off-plan since I went to Florida. Vacations ALWAYS do that to me. It doesn't help either that I've had kind of a crazy week going-out wise.

Kim, you asked me last week about kickball - I do play in an organized league. Actually in the DC area I think there are like 6 or 7 leagues each with 13 teams I think. Plus there are leagues in Chicago, San Fran and a few other places. It's a lot of fun - basically a way to meet a lot of new people and go out drinking!

Anyway, I kind of met a boy from another team, but he's a bartender so he has a way wierd schedule. We went and saw star wars Monday night (he's got connections) and went out Tuesday night to a few bars. I didn't get to sleep before 3 either night. Needless to say I haven't worked out either since I've been back, which is ironic because I worked out 3 times while I was away. Got to get back on track.

I hope everyone is doing well - I think I must have spring fever or something

Hey gals!

I got to come home ealry from work today because it was quiet! Its nice to be home early but sucky for the income. Our car is still in the shop. Apparently they had to order the part & supposedly it should be here today. We've only had our car for 8 months & I didn't realizehow dependent on it we've become.

Last night my Uncle crashed his dirtbike & broke his leg twice. They ended up ambulancing him here (he lives 3 hours away) because he has to have extensive surgery. It sounds like for the most part he's ok. I am the only family that lives here so looks like I have to go visit him lots. He is probably going to be here in traction for at least 6 weeks. I guess I'll get to know him a lot better. He's my Dad's youngest brother. He is nice enough we just don't see eye to eye onlots of things-like his kids for one thing. Anyway it will be an interesting time. I'm hoping that once my Grandma gets back from her trip tot he states she'll come up & stay awhile. She's supposed to be back on SUnday. Guess we'll se what happens.

Anyway I've blabbed on long enough. Talk to all you gals later!

Hi everyone.

One more day till the weekend (a long weekend here). I'm looking forward to it. Even though it's supposed to rain.

Trish - do you have one of those fancy jogger strollers? or do you have Alex running along beside you?

Kirsty - have a great trip. They've got this new tanning thing around here that they spray on. it's supposed to cover every part of you. ANyone tried it? They say it's more convenient than lotions.

Lexxy - kickball sounds like fun! But seriously - how was Star Wars?

Jen - way to go with the staying OP - Lately I can't make good choices when we go out to dinner.

Rina - that sucks about your uncle, nice of you to be there for him though, I'm sure it will make your family feel more comfortable.

Uh-oh - here come the internet police

Have a great day all

ok, since I'm not getting any work done anyway, I'll gossip a little about the boy and Star Wars....

I liked the movie, although the story was a little weak. But who really cares, right? I was also a bit tipsy at the time, so I can't remember all the details, but the Yoda scene is the best, and pretty much the last half of the movie is great, lots of action. It just blew my mind to be drinking and smoking in the movie theater watching a movie for free that people camped out to get tickets for - 2 days before it came out! Anyway, enough smugness out of me

About the boy - we've hung out a few times, he's a bit older than I am - almost 7 years. I don't know what's going to happen with that - he is really the nicest guy, and not in a dorkish way, you know? And I have a really good time with him, but I do have my reservations. I don't think he's very attractive, he has a party lifestyle - I think he smokes like 2 packs a day, easy. I "quit" smoking after graduating college, but I still would smoke when I drank - maybe it would take me a couple weeks to go through a pack. Now I can do it in a night with him. Bad news. Not good for my running either. He works Friday and Sat. nights too, so no dates on the weekend, when I should be limiting my partying to.

We'll see what happens - I'm going to try not to obsess, but that's hard for me to do !

HAPPY ONE-DAY-LATE B'DAY JEN! Maybe we should rename this the 20-and 30-somethings board. I turn 30 in October. I'm realizing I was dreading 29 more than I'm dreading 30. Go figure.

Well, I picked up my new Honda CRV last night! It's so cool. I've never had such a nice car with all the bells and whistles. It was sad saying good-bye to my old car, though. That car had seen me through so much ... first job out of college, break up with ex-boyfriend (it hasn't been really clean since. He used to wash it for me), moves to three different cities. Lots of memories!

Lexxy: Kickball DOES sound like fun. Wish we had that hear. When I lived in Charlottesville, I played soccer on a women's community league, but then I tore my ACL, which ended my soccer days b/c I didn't get my knee reconstructed. Instead, I gained 30 pounds.

Sorry this is short, but I've been procrastinating too much today. Hello to everyone ... glad to hear from you Trish!

Default Hi everyone!

Hey Kim! Awesome on the car!! I know what you mean about saying good bye to the old car. When I got my new one, I almost cried when the dealer drove my little blue baby away....almost...That piece of sh*t was a money pit!!
I hate not getting online at work, but we've been so busy recently that it doesn't seem too bad anymore. I've been staying OP really well except for today. I've been having the munchies this afternoon. I had a closing at 3pm and was done by 4pm so I went to WalMart and then came home. I bought some granola bars and beef jerky and other snacky things and have been eating ever since I walked in the door. I'm not even hungry anymore, but I hear them calling my name!!!
Well, I just looked over my shoulder and Bailey the wonderdog is alseep on the floor and Goofy the wondercat is alseep in the windowsill. A nap sounds good, but DH is coming home and we have to get to work on the stupid house. I will be so glad when we get to move!!!!!!!!!!
Hi to everyone!!! Trish, it's great to hear from you!
Jen: Happy birthday!! Don't go away! We'll change our thread to make you stay!!
Bye everyone!
