Hi Christy--
Were you going to be doing the entire WW plan (meetings, weigh-ins, etc)? If you plan to join WW, those books are great to have. If you've never done WW before and aren't planning to join, I'm not sure how much use you'll get out of them. At meetings, you learn your points range, your healthy weight, and other ways to make the plan work for you.
It's great to have new members, come post often. We do a daily thread that usually has the day or date in the title and it's an awesome group to be a part of--lots of inspiration and uplifting talk!!
