The weekend was okay for me. I didn't stay OP, but I don't think I went overboard either. I plan on walking on the treadmill today and then next week I will start back at the local gym.

Hi everyone!!!! I have been so busy with graduations, wedding showers and july birthdays!!!!!
I wanted to let you girls know that I made 3 recipes from our "recipe thread"!
I made stuffed mushrooms........
crab & bacon (turkey) cups
& lemon custard cake
ALL TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!! Super good, low fat, low calories and low points. I recommend these for any occasion.

Ok then....................................
Well my husband wants to go see Dark Night (Batman) tonight! Urgh......but my thought is, if I go with him tonight he will go to Mama' Mia with me tom. night?!?!? I had a terrible OP day!!! TOM is visiting and I have eaten sooooo much candy today!!!
Health wise - I have felt good! I'm really tired these days, but I think from running so much.

Tammy - Hi! Thinking of you? How are you and Tim holding up? How was your trip?

Tina - Hi! How are things with you? Banana Split Ice Cream.........ahhhhhhhh! My daughter got a job at the Dairy Queen. So, guess who has been eating a ton of ice cream? Yep, me!!!!! Now we have the best of both worlds.........She works part time for a candy store and part time for an ice cream store! Are we lucky or what?!?!?!?

Susan - Hi! Have a great trip. I think a ticker with a "reasonable" goal is a great idea!!!

Dori - Hi! Are you all unpacked and settled back in from the beach?

Hi Maureen!

Can you guys believe it is time to start school shopping? I yi yi.....where does time go?
Well, have a great night and talk to you later!

Hi everyone,
I hope it's a good OP day.

Jeanne, how was the Dark Knight movie? It's getting so much attention. It doesn't do a thing for me. Are you going to see Mama Mia tonight? What did your husband say about going to it? Larry calls it a "chick flick."

Dori, how's the exercising on your treadmill coming? I'm over my Yuck now so I'll get back to using mine.

Tammy, we miss you on the threads. Post when you feel like it, please!!!

Susan is in Galveston and she's having rain.
Tropical Storm Dolly is heading for the far south point of TX. This means that all the rest of Texas' coast area will get much needed rain.
I'm ready for some. It should move inland tonight and we'll get it tomorrow.

Jeanne, I'll have to try some of those recipes you talked about.
Maureen, how are you doing?

Greetings,
The hurricane is so far south of us that we're not even getting much rain. We had lots of lightening and some rain early this morning. It looks threatening but that's about it.
Everyone is pretty quiet right now.
I'm OP.

Hi gang. Just thought I'd stop in and say hello. Things are ok. I have good moments and not so good moments. I have made some major decisions this week even though people told me not to make decisions right away. lol

Decision #1. I am getting a puppy. A dachsund that should be smaller than Kramer was. Should get him (her?) the end of September. Not sure if they are born yet or not.

Decision #2. I will still be going to Georgia in the winter. I cancelled the 2 bedroom unit, and I plan to get a 1 bedroom. I will take the puppy with me. bob's nieces plan to come while I'm there and spend some time, and so does his brother and sil. Also Tim will be down. In fact, Tim will drive down with me, spend a few days, then fly back. He'll fly down for a long weekend sometime, and then he'll fly back down in march and drive home with me.

Decision #3. Bob and I were in the process of checking out mattresses online, and we had planned to go shopping for a new one when he felt better. We had looked at Sleep Number beds and Tempur-pedic ones online. We knew that the TP ones would be good for me with the arthritis and fibro, but he wasn't sure he liked them. Well, I went shopping today and picked out a tempur-pedic. It isn't one of the most expensive ones, but it isn't one of the cheapest ones either. I am going from a king size to a queen.

Decision #4. We bought our bedroom suite in 1991. It was one of the least expensive ones, and we had talked for a while about replacing it. I'm going to give it to Tim to use in his apartment, and I am buying a new suite. It is lighter wood than what we have, so it will really brighten up the bedroom. It has never had a headboard, just the frame, so really all Tim is getting is the dresser with mirror, 2 nightstands, and the chest. He is thrilled. I will be getting a headboard with the new suite, dresser with mirror, chest, and 1 nightstand. I decided I didn't really need 2. If I decide that I want one, they can order one. It set was on sale (!!!!!) so that is the best part.

Ok. That's all for now. I'll try to be better about getting on and posting. I need to head in and take a shower. Both aerobics classes tomorrow, finalize stuff at the furniture store, and go to the chiropractor.

Bob gave us the most beautiful sunset tonight. At least that's what Tim and I were thinking. I should have taken a picture.

Happy Friday

It's going to get hot again now. We got lots of rain and the yard is very appreciative.
Remember I gave y'all that WW key lime pie recipe? I got all the stuff to make one. Yummy! That should be good this weekend.

Tammy, you've been one busy person. I think most of your decisions are perfect. I say most because I don't know if it would be good to stay away, in GA, for that many months. Even with people visiting, it seems like it would be so lonely for you without Bob. Just my thoughts.

Dori, what's going on with you?
Jeanne, I'll be you are out buying school supplies and clothes. Yuck! When do the schools start there?

Susan, did you collapse after getting back home. I'm glad you didn't have to go through a hurricane. That would've made one interesting conference.

Maureen, please post!!!!!

Tina, thanks for being concerned about me!!! I won't be in Georgia as long as Bob and I planned to be. We were going to leave after Christmas, and we weren't coming home till April. I won't be going until January and Tim will be with me for a week or more, then he'll be down the first weekend in March, spend a few days, then we'll be driving home. The main reason that I want to go is because I realized last year how much better I feel down there. I didn't realize how much difference the weather makes. I didn't take any pain meds the entire time we were there last year even when I spent 2 solid days at Disney the end of February. It totally amazed me. Now I realize why one of my good friends moved to Arizona years ago. Bob even had checked out real estate prices there when he saw how much better I felt.

That recipe sounds so good. Maybe I'll go get the ingredients too!

Hi,

I'm home. I did collapse today. I laid down on the couch and think I slept 2 hours. The conference was good but busy!!!! Then I stayed up late and had a good time each night with friends. It was good to be home.

Tina, I am VERY happy that I didn't go through a hurricane. We did get the rain and the tide was up. I was going to call you if I had time but didn't want you to come down until we knew what the hurricane was going to do.

Tammy, Good for you!!!! I'm glad that you are making those decisions!!! Why don't you move down here to Texas???? I thought of you and your fibro during my trip because legs and knees were killing me!!! It hurt to move... plus I had a headache each day.

I'm going to skip weighing this week. I don't want to cry since I know I'll be up

Hi All-I do come and read the posts most days-Tammy, I agree with Tina, I think you're making good decisions I don't know what the Americans call people who spend their winters in warmer climates, but we Canadians call them Snowbirds-so that's what I'll refer to you from now on lol
Everything here's fine-we've been getting nice weather but I sure haven't been sticking to program lately-I managed to get a urinary tract infection and I have a few more days left of the antibiotics-so I've been feeling a bit crappy.
I hope you all have a great weekend

maureen

Mornin Folks,

Let me just start by saying IT"S HOT!!!!! Now with that out of my system until I walk outside and melt, I'll be ok.

Maureen, that's ok to just come and read. We are glad you keep up with us and post sometimes. I'm sorry about the UTI, my little sister use to get them all the time as a kid and I remember how bad she felt. Drink lots! (Like I need to tell you that)

Snowbird Tammy, I like that!!!!! I would love to be able to join you but our winters are not bad, oh yeah... I still have to teach!! Darn!!!! Can you believe that school starts in a month and less than a month before I go back!!! UGH!!!

Tina, are you melting down there? Is it still humid?

Pat took our Bisquit to the vet yesterday. Poor thing hides all the time and then I have to force him to eat. Well he'll eat a few bites and then is finished. I crawl around on the floor with the food and he'll eat a little more. I was sure Pat wouldn't be coming home with him but he did. The vet said he has an upper respiratory infection and gave him antibiotics. Hopefully he'll eat a little more when he feels a little better. Pat said he has anywhere from 2-4 weeks probably. I just don't want him to suffer. He still purrs when you pet him and all so who knows.

Dori, how are you?

Jeanne, are you feeling any better?

I have to get back on track this week. I did pretty good yesterday. My trip blew me out of the waters . It had to be the hurricane

Afternoon,
Maureen. Where do Canadians go to get out of the cold?

Tammy, what brand is your bedroom furniture? We're going to buy some soon. We've always had a full size bed. We're going to get a queen.

Susan, I'm so sorry about Bisquit. Hiding means they feel rotten. The last couple of months, Smokey would stay under the bed. I'd take his food to him.
How's your new kitty?

I'm so disgusted with myself. Against my better judgement, I bought a half gallon of blackberry cobbler ice cream. In just a few short days, it was all gone. (I had help eating it---I wasn't a piglet.) My weight loss has stalled. Wonder why!

Everyone stay cool and OP.

Good afternoon
Tina-a lot of Canadians from the east go to Florida for the winter or at least a few weeks in the winter and out here in the west they usually go to Arizona, Hawaii or Mexico. I'd love to be able to do that-live here during the nice weather and then right after Christmas go south somewhere. I do like the changing seasons I just find that winter seems too long sometimes.

Morning all,

I woke up early. I've been up for over an hour!!! Silly girl, it's vacation still and I should be making the most of it!!!!! I had a bad migraine last night and dozed off and on in the chair then went to bed and crashed. I think that is why!!!

I'm not sure if my trainer and I are working out or not. She called on Friday morning and said she would call back.... she never did. I didn't have this week scheduled so I'm not going. It's too far to just go and have her not show up again. I'll go to the gym close by or maybe not at all.

I'm looking at my "to do list" for the summer. I better get busy!!!! I'm putting in new self liner in the utility room. Pat was going to help me (like I can't do it) but he never did so it's going up today. The kitty is having fun with it.

That little kitty is a HANDFUL!!! I forgot how they chase everything and everything is a toy!!! He makes me laugh! Wish I had some of his energy.
Bisquit is hanging in there. He actually ate several times yesterday. That's with me taking the food to him and making sure that he is eating.

I have to tell ya'll something funny.... or I think it is! Pat has decided that we need to up the air conditioner during the day to like 76 degrees (we normally have it between 70-72) So then he leaves for work today, I just walk in to the den and kitchen and ALL the lights are on with the tv. So do you think upping the a/c is really helping. Honestly, I turn it down a little because I'm about to die and then up it if I'm leaving. My folks have theirs set at 78-80 and I melt. However, I am a little thicker than Pat so he probably doesn't even think it's that bad.

Ok, I've rambled enough.
