Did everyone survive the Turkey celebration????? For our Canadian friends, tell us about your weekend.
I feel like a stuffed bird.
So, I got an empty journal out and I'm tracking.
Today, I have used a total of 3 points, so far! How have I used so few, you ask.
For breakfast, I had---
1 slice reduced calorie toast -- 1/2 pt.
w/ 1 Tbps. jam -- 1 pt.
1 very small banana (it was so small that I counted it as 1 1/2pt.)
hot tea -- 0 pt.
Lunch
0 pt. veggie soup (I had 2 bowls of it.)
I've had one Diet Coke w/lemon
For supper, I have a WW recipe for mac 'n cheese and I've baked a meatloaf. (I don't eat the meatloaf. I'll have some French bread.)
And, I'll make a salad.
With all the water that I'm drinking, I'm hoping I'll stay full.
What are y'all eating today?????
Tina
134 personal goal by Christmas (keeping my fingers crossed)
Tina, thanks for starting a new thread. As you can see, I found it!
I weighed in today and gained almost 3 pounds but TOM is just around the corner. Hopefully Wednesday, it will be gone! I'm at a grand total of -15 pounds. I still feel like a blob today!
So far I had a dairy bar for breakfast. Homemade fried rice w/ shrimp for lunch. (it was yummy, made it last night) some low fat cheese and melba toast. Not sure about supper, but I'm ready to go eat something good. I'm also trying to drink all of my water. I've been putting lots of lemon and lime in it.
Ok, now to sound stupid but do Candians celebrate Thanksgiving?
Tina, your day sounded pretty good. I like that dinner Mac. & cheese and bread! Right up my alley!!
Ladies, I didn't use my credit card on the shopping trip!!! Well, actually, I did use it at the bed and breakfast, but that's it!
Next year we have to take a larger vehicle. We took my Malibu. With 4 women, all of our luggage, and our purchases, we were quite cramped on the way home. We had a bookshelf wedged into the back seat between 2 of my friends. We did so much laughing and had a very nice time.
Next year we drive someone's van or rent a U-Haul.
As of right now, I don't even want to get weighed this week. With 2 Thanksgiving meals and what we ate while shopping, I don't think the scales will look very pretty to me. We did do a tremendous amount of walking though while we shopped.
We arrived in Metamora, Indiana, about 10:00 to start shopping. Went back to our room mid-afternoon for a short break, then headed back to the shops. We made it back to our room about 9:45. Got up Sunday morning, had breakfast, packed the car, and headed for the shops again. You know, those last minute things. The shops opened at 10:00 again and we were there. We finally left town about 2:30.
My BP has been great since I started the medicine almost 2 weeks ago. Today I had a headache and just didn't feel right. I took my BP when I got home and it was up again. I need to stop in to see the doctor after school tomorrow. I've been keeping track of all the readings that I've taken.
I can't believe how much I've written. Where is Abilene? In Texas?
Glad to see everyone had a good thanksgiving holiday. I didnt eat as much as I normally would have, which is good, and we didnt have near the leftovers this year. We cut back on the amount of desserts that were made....and alot of the extra's that are just that...extra calories, extra points
And yes Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving, but their's is celebrated on the second Monday in October, instead of in November like ours is.
Sounds like you had a great time on your shopping trip Tammy!
Hang in there Susan...that gain will be history by next week
Great job on your eating Tina....how was the WW mac n cheese recipe?
Gonna head to bed...have a good day tomorrow....
Dee
Good morning,
Dee, it sounds like you were really good on Thanksgiving. Congrats!!!!! Those leftovers will kill ya.
Tammy, Abilene is in Texas. It's about 6 hrs. northeast of Houston. Yes, it is a long ride!
It sounds like you all had so much fun on your shopping trip. I can't imagine how you got that bookshelf in the backseat.
Good for you - not using the credit cards.
Susan---glad you found the thread Count me in on feeling like a blob. Even after my healthy eating yesterday, I had such water retention this morning.
May I have your fried rice recipe???? Please !!!!!!!!
WW Mac'n Cheese -- it was soooooo good.
In my next post, I'll give you all the recipe. (the book is in the other room right now & I'm too lazy to go get it)
It is really good!!!!!
Have a great day.
Tammy, let us know how your bp is today. Okay!
Tina
We are under Winter Weather Warning. It started sleeting around 3:15 then stopped. May 1-3 inches accumlation of ice and snow. Let's see if it does anything now!! Tomorrow's high will be 33. Then back to the 60's this weekend. That's Texas
I don't have a particular receipe for my fried rice. I watched the guys at the Japanese resturant and came home and tried it. So here goes.
Susan's Fried Rice
1. Cook your rice
2. Saute chopped vegetables in PAM or a little olive oil ( I use carrots, celery, mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower and chives) I use whatever I have in the frig.
3. Push the veggies over and scramble an egg or two
4. Add rice and mix all together
5. Sprinkle in Terikyi sauce and a little Soy Sauce. (I like the Terikyi the best)
6. Add Sesame seeds
7. Salt and Pepper
I like to add shrimp in it too. I buy the frozen shrimp and throw them in with the veggies after they have cooked.
I don't have exact amounts of the ingredients. It's really good. Hope you like it.
Lot's of us are having really cold weather today.
Susan, are you having snow. I see on the weather that my father-in-law is having ice and snow.
In Houston, we only get cold temps and rain. It felt miserable out today.
I did have a fun day, though!
I went to Target (it's a Super Target now) and looked and looked. I bought a few things, including Xmas napkins and 2 sizes of paper plates. You can tell that I don't want to mess with a lot of dishes this season.
Here's the WW Mac 'n Cheese recipe. Be sure to try it.
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. fat-free milk
1 c. (4 ounces) shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese, divided
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 c. cooked elbow macaroni (about 8 ounces uncooked), cooked without salt or fat
Cooking Spray
1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
2. Combine cornstarch and milk in med. pan and stir until blended. Bring to a boil over med. heat, stirring constantly. Cook for 1 min.
3. Stir in 1/2 c. cheese. Reduce heat to low and cook until cheese melts.
4. Remove from heat and add remaining 1/2 c. cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
5. Combine cheese mixture and macaroni; stir well.
6. Spoon into a 2-qt. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for 10 min. or until thoroughly heated.
Yield: 5 servings (1 c. serving size)
6 points per serving.
(This is from the WW "Just Like Home" recipe book)
My BP is definitely not where the doctor wants it to be. It has been up every day so far this week. It was up when his nurse took it at the office.
I go back in 2 weeks to see if the medicine is helping. May have to take a whole pill instead of 1/2. May have to change the medication. I also go for a bunch of blood tests that week too. I am not happy about this.
Tammy, I'm sorry your bp isn't acting right. I hope you don't have to take more meds.
Where is everyone tonight? Maybe everyone is out partying and I'm the only one at home.
I shopped all day. Well, I did more looking than shopping. I got some good ideas for gifts.
Hi gang! Basketball season has started so most Fri. and Sat. nights that's where I'll be. My brother is the varsity coach here and my nephew is playing on the junior varsity team. I hang out with my other brother and his family, and the coach's wife. Tim hangs out with his friends and tries to act cool. He can't wait until next year when he is in high school so he can play in the pep band. But he may go out for the freshman team instead. Who knows.
Tim is at basketball practice right now. Bob is shopping for a new cymbal for Tim's drumset for Christmas.
I need to get some papers graded and get some ornaments on the living room tree. It has lights, garland, and 1 ornament so far. LOL The other trees that are up are done. I have 5 up so far.
Only a couple more small ones to put up.
Afternoon,
Is everyone in the shopping malls today?
Tammy, how many trees do you put up in your house????? Wow, we do fine with only one. We'll probably put ours up next weekend. We usually put it up a couple of weeks before the day.
I was up bright and early to get to the 50% off sale at Sears. I found one thing for Larry. They could give me rain checks on the other things but didn't know when they'd come in.
Larry is outside putting up our lights. Last year we never got them up.
I haven't gotten to exercise yet today. I must find some time. Yesterday, I counted shoppiing and walking to the car as my exercise.
We'll have 8 trees this year, but that includes little ones. I have 2 that are over 6 feet, 3 that are 4 feet, and 3 that are 2 feet. I receive so many ornaments as Christmas gifts, I have to have someplace to display them, right? Remember, this is my 25th Christmas as a teacher!!
The cymbal that Tim wanted for Christmas is $95!!!! Bob didn't buy it, but he did buy the attachment to hook it to. Tim usually gets $ from some of the relatives for Christmas, so Bob thought maybe he could save that and he could help buy the cymbal. I thought that was a bit high!
My BP was 120/80 today. That's the best that it has been in ages. Wish it would stay that low.
My brother and his wife are taking my nephew to play hockey (he's on a travelling team) in Indianapolis tomorrow. I get the honor of taking my niece and her boyfriend back to college tomorrow afternoon. I've never met him. She is afraid that I will tease her terribly!!!! I can't imagine why she would think that! They are both freshmen at Miami University.
I ended up not getting all of my papers graded earlier. I also planned to run into my classroom and get some stuff done there. Instead, I sat and read. I guess I deserve to do that too.
Bob put lights on the bushes in front of the house one day this week. That's the first time we've done that since we moved to this house. I wanted to buy the small lights, but Tim wanted the larger size because that's what grandpa always did here. I can't remember if we sold his lights at the auction or if one of my brothers has them.
Yesterday would have been my mom's 70th birthday. I was pretty emotional, but I made it through. I can't believe that she has been gone almost 4 years.
Tammy, WOW!!!! I can't believe that you have that many trees up. I have one, can't even imagine putting up more. We got ours yesterday. It's the largest we have ever had 8-9 feet tall. Pat had to help put ornaments on the top of it with a ladder. But it is beautiful. He put up the lights outside last weekend. I put garland and bows out on the fence line (around the entrance) and made a wreath to put on the house.
It was cold here this week. We had 2 days of ice but the roads weren't too bad so we still had school. Good, because we won't have to make them up. Then yesterday it was 72. As Tina knows, if you don't like the weather in Texas just a little while because it will change.
I'm staying away from the malls. I've done most of my shopping on line. It's great. I hate crowds.
Tammy, your bp was great. What meds are you on? With meds my bp is great! I can now tell when it goes up just by the way I feel. When you get it regulated you'll feel great! Happy Birthday to your Mom! I bet she had the best party ever in Heaven! !
WOW---I was finally able to get in here! I now understand that things have been down. Very disgusting when you want to talk to friends.
Tammy, I cannot even imagine having that many trees in my house. Our cat would love it, though.
And, congrats on that low bp.
Susan, your tree sounds beautiful. We usually have a 6 ft. one.
I can't imagine not going to the stores at Christmastime.
I always loved going to Marshall Fields' this time of year. Then, they decided to leave Houston. I was crushed!
I'm wondering if it will ever stop raining. None of the weathermen knew we'd still have rain. They think that they know everything. Wrong.....
It was supposed to be back in the 70's yesterday and today. It was raining and cool. Yuk.
Hope everyone has a good Monday.
Dee, we haven't heard from you in awhile.
Sis, how are you doing?
Maureen where are you????
Addey, come on and let us know how the weight loss is coming.
