Can I count yesterday as well? I walked 4.5 miles yesterday morning. By the time is over with today I'll have walked 4 miles (had to leave car at repair shop and walked home - will have to walk back to get it - and then have to walk to the hockey game tonight).

I'm with you Dora - I like this accountability. I felt so guilty not walking last night - mostly because of typing it here...

Marion - hope you are feeling better! I have asthma too but the singulair/claritan D combo has been helpful.

I've decided to log my weeks to coincide with my WI on Saturday mornings.

Week of 5/26 - 6/2
Saturday: 3.75 miles - 1hr 14 min up hills! 5PTS. Wonderful!
Sunday: 1.54 miles 27 min 2PTS (went for the walk with my 8 yr old nephew... but he got sidetracked at the river wanting to throw rocks - that was more important than finishing my walk
Monday: 5.25 miles - 1 hr 39 min up hills... 7PTS very tired now :0
Tuesday: 2.40 miles - 42 min 3 PTS... need a break after yesterday
Wednesday: 2.0 miles 36 min. 3PTS... right calf hurting - very tight
Thursday: 2.63 miles 51 min. 3 PTS...my daughter just had to walk with us for awhile... really slowed us down!
Friday: taking the day off... Emily's dance recital weekend

17.57 for the week and 23 PTS - yeah for me!
averaging 30 pts per day - just can't seem to stay in the low end of my range!!!

I like this thread and would like to add in my totals. I bought a treadmill a few months ago and try to use it pretty religiously -- unfortunately, the weekends get the most activity on it.

Week of 5/24 (corresponding to Thursday WI):

Saturday, 5/26: 3.25 miles
Sunday, 5/27: 3.5 miles

One final note ... to Kim in NJ ... I think you can give yourself many more points for your exercise. The treadmill I use calculates about 120 calories per mile. If you use 50 calories to 1 point, then you're logging a lot more points than you're crediting.

On the other hand, if you'd like to tell me how you came up with those points, maybe I'll stop crediting myself so many points for my exercise! LOL

Hi Judy & Dora...

Dora - you and me both about the food. But I'm going to keep up the exercise and see what happens. My sister wants me to join a 3 mile fitness walk with her for July 4th... not sure if I'm ready for that but I think I will try. She and my husband just ran a 5 mile run on Saturday and they had a ball!

Judy - Am I really underestimating??? I was using that little activity points finder cardboard thingy and putting it on my weight and saying that the walking was between light to moderate. It's funny because I just said to my husband the other night.... "you know if I burned 482 calories according to the pedomter - I think that should be worth more than 5 points"... but then I thought best to be conservative.

Hope to get in a nice 4 miles this afternoon - but first to do some decluttering of closets!!!!
By all - Kim

Good morning all! Got up nice and early (6am) and got in a 3.5 mile walk before heading off to breakfast with some friends.

Kim in NJ -- I think your pedometer is pretty much on track vis-a-vis calories used when walking. However, you're probably better off under-counting point usage for your exercise than potentially overcounting. When I exercise a lot, I try to leave at least 3 points uneaten -- that's sort of a buffer in case I've been too generous in awarding myself points.

Dora -- good to see you, too, on this thread. Frankly, you're one of my exercise idols, so keep it going!
