I am not sure if I am getting sick, or if I just have a slight case of the seasonal bummers. I called out from work and stayed in bed all day. I feel cruddy, and had a serious hankering for some red meat. Maybe I had low iron or something. I don't eat very much meat let alone red meat, so my fiance went out and got some and made burgers. It was lean and happy beef. I guess I feel a bit better, I just can't believe I slept all day. How did I do that?
Breakfast, apple, tangerine, granola bar 4pts (in bed) Lunch, bagel with ff cream cheese, and veggies 4pts (in bed) Dinner, 4 oz beef patty, oven baked fries, peas and carrots 8pts Dessert, ice cream sandwich, popcorn 7pts (in bed) Zero activity. Zero Fun. |

Good Morning & Happy Hump Day!!!
Not much in my world. DH found out he has a conference for work when our triathlon season opener is this year. SO, that's a bummer. I'll still do it with our group, but it'll be disappointing not having him there. The scale is frustrating me thus far this week simply because I didn't drink at all last weekend and it's not really changing much. My points are spot on, my exercise is happening, and yet not much the reflect that on the scale. I'm hoping for a swoosh... My pandora isn't working this morning either which is infuriating. Oh boy - I need today to get it together and me to put a smile on my face... ------------ gooch100 - Of course, no problem! I am not a greek yogurt fan either; however, the Yoplait 100 Greek tastes and feels like regular yogurt in your mouth (if you're interested in trying.) If not, maybe some PB to pump up the protein with your muffin? Idk - if I don't get at least 15 grams of protein at breakfast at the bare minimum I am ravenous the entire day. Maybe try using oil based salad dressings at some point to incorporate your healthy oils? Just a thought since you don't like cooked veggies. :) I hear you on the triggering aspect. You have to find a balance that works best for you. I don't do a ton of FF either simply because I prefer the taste of full fat. The 1/2&1/2 in my coffee is really the only thing I seek out to be FF because I absolutely LOVE regular cream and can get a little carried away with it. FF Ranch is one I cannot do. What brand are you using? roxannestags - I look for a balance, honestly. I know that your body digests carbs the fastest, so you get hungrier qucker. So, if I eat just carbs (regardless of if they're fruits or breads, it doesn't matter) I'll be starving within 10 minutes, especially if it's fruit because the high-glycemic index spikes my blood sugar. BUT, if I have carbs with protein/healthy fat it balances it out and satiates me because the protein/healthy fat digests the slowest. I try to make sure 1/2 of my meals constitute as veggies, 1/4 protein and 1/4 starch. I'm a bulk eater, too - so if I don't balance well and I get hungry it's game over for me. Yesterday I didn't pair up my PM snack with anything and I was RAVENOUS. It was bad news. smashlers - Feel better! I think DH has the flu. There's definitely some sort of creeping crud going around! -------- Breakfast: vitamuffin w/ 100 Greek Yogurt, banana and coffee - 6pts Snack: apple w/ babybel light - 1pt Lunch: Chicken & Leek Pot Pie - 11pts Snack: Nectarine, Carrots and Pistachios - 1pt Dinner: Fusilli with Caramelized Spring Onions and Grilled Shrimp - 15pts 34/34 |
Hey everyone! I had my weekly WI this morning, and I was down 2.8 pounds! That is the biggest loss I have had in several weeks. I am very encouraged.
I bought a 10 pound kettlebell at Menard's for $10 and downloaded a Jillian Michaels kettlebell workout on Amazon for $8. I tried it for the first time today and my goodness, it kicked my butt! It was actually really fun though. I managed to sneak my workout in during my son's naptime. He's still sleeping, so now I get to relax and catch up online for a bit. I think I have found my new workout / me time. I really enjoy reading about how you ladies are doing. I am glad to have an outlet for myself as well. I hope you are all having a great week! Alyssa |
SoMuchFattitude: thanks for the info. It gives me an idea of what to look at
Smashlers: Feel better soon. I was feeling like that this weekend and I spent most of it sleeping Geekmadre: I have been wanting to get me a set of kettlebells! Straightahead: fantastic on the pants fitting better! Yesterday I did not get all my exercise in either. I slept most of yesterday. However, at the moment today I am at 178%. I am looking at being able to hit 200%. I think that if I break my exercise up into shorter segments it works better for me as well. Roxanne Ok going to go play fetch with the beagle and then go back to bed |
Hi y'all! Thanks for all the congratulatory on my 2.0 lbs lost. Hope I see this kind of loss everytime I WI. So if so it would be awesome to loose 8-10 lbs in a month :D
Breakfast went well with my friends. We had a long and nice chat and caught up with each other things happening in our lives. Ow I got the simple and fit waffle (11pts). So all is good. Went to the gym earlier but classes were cancelled because it was appreciation day so they had a rodeo themed party going on. Just ran on the treadmill for 30 mins, some weight lifting for 15-20 mins. Joined cycling/spinning class for 30 mins. It was my first time back in 2 yrs.So of course now my bottom hurts. Dang! Was out of breath in that class (spinning class was not cancelled because it had seperate room for it. Aerobic classes were cancelled). Oh and fhe fun part we did line dancing with the kids. Fun!!! :) |
I'm down to 39 points now since I weighed in at 240.0 yesterday.
|
I have to tell you guys about a success of mine yesterday. I went out to eat twice yesterday. Normally that would have destroyed my points. One of those was a fast food place (taco bell). I ordered 2 tacos and a potato burrito. When we got in the car I looked up the points and found that the burritto was like 14 points. I decided it wasn't worth it. So I gave the burrito to dh (after one bite) and was fine with that. I counted the bite in my points and ate my tacos. I had points left over at the end of the day!
Oh and I met 250% of my exercise goal yesterday. I was so thrilled. Forgive me for the pat on the back here...but yay me! Roxanne |
YAY for both of those successes! Have you ever tried looking over the points before going out? That's what I do every time I go out. I even log the points before I even get there. I figure that "makes" me stick to my personal plan. I still haven't had any Taco Bell since ours was reopened.
I did the bite thing the other day. I took my own popcorn (air popped with nutritional yeast), took a bite of hubby's popcorn and ate the rest of mine. I got some movie goodness but saved a ton of points. |
Ok - insert :tantrum: :tantrum::tantrum:. God, the scale was UP this morning. UP a pound. I've been POP ALL week. All effing week and I've worked out every single day and hit my ActiveLink every single day and still - the scale was up. I know, it's the day to day fluctuations and probably just water weight since I went hard at the gym yesterday, but still so frustrating. This is why I quit weighing daily....but when I quit weighing daily I get too loose. AHHH /rant
It's almost the weekend!!! --- geekmadre - :carrot: on your huge loss!!! roxannestags - Don't you just love the ActiveLink?! Congrats on passing the burrito over! I can't even go to taco bell or it's game over for me. myfavisblue - A rodeo themed party? lol Daimere - I do the same thing. I log everything before I even step foot in the door. --- Breakfast - Vitamuffin w/ greek yogurt, banana and coffee - 6pts Snack - apple and babybel light - 1pt lunch - fusilli w/ caramelized onions and grilled shrimp - 11pts snack - carrots and string cheese -1pt Dinner - shake n' bake chicken, cous cous and roasted asparagus - 11pts 30/34 |
I am so excited! I hit my February goal. Actually broke it by .2 lbs. :carrot: I spent an hour shoveling snow last night and I think that helped put me over. I am on my way to my 10%. Maybe by the end of March.
I have been staying away from so much fruit. I am coming to realize that too much sugar is a trigger for me. So only 1-2 servings per day for me from now on. Limiting fruit has helped my cravings immensely. This is why I am loving WW, since all food is tracked it is getting easier to see what may be my triggers. I am a bit sad because I love fruit and sugary treats. But at least now I am getting a handle on it and know why I may be feeling like a bottomless pit. SoMuchFattitude - It has to be water weight! I would expect to see a swoosh here in the next day or so. I weigh daily too and while sometimes it is frustrating, it helps keep me on track too. I am also learning about how my body loses the weight. I plateau for 4-5 days then have a drop, usually on Thursday. Why Thursday? Who knows, it just seems so random. |
Congrats on meeting your February goal! Shoveling snow is definitely a work out. I had to do that last week and I was exhausted.
I'm down 3 pounds this week so far and I'm feeling great. I haven't been exercising as much as I should because I've been busy juggling work and keeping up with my online classes. I need to figure out a better routine so I can get my exercise in. |
Just got back from weigh in. All that crying and moaning I was doing last week makes me feel stupid now. Lol. I was down 4.4 lbs! Bringing me into the 260's! I made my february Goal. BooYA. Its so strange how one success like that can re-fire my engines to get healthy and make sure I look good at all the events I have this year. (College friends wedding in May, Bridesmaid in Sept, blowing my family away at christmas, et cet). I am back at it, and happy about it!
SoMuchFattitude I was looking at the February goals thread.... That is messed up. You had it.... Crazy bodies. I feel for ya girl . But, all that aside, we need YOU to start the March weigh in thread. kthxbye Gooch I am right there with ya on the fruit. We have been talking about it alot in this thread and how it just doesn't fill you up. I think its great, and all that, but... I am going to cut back on it, and not expect an orange to fill me up until dinner time. 'Cause it just won't. |
Smashlers- Congrats!! That is GREAT!! It is amazing how making a mini-goal gets you all revved up to keep going. I was just thinking that same thing this morning after I got on the scale. I am all fired up for March and my mini-goal of 7 lbs for the month.
Amandabanana-Congrats on your loss too. One thing I have done with my exercise since my life right now seems a bit out of control is to break up my workouts. 20 min in the AM on the bike before work, 20-25 min in the evening while dinner is cooking to do something with the XBox kinect (Dance Party or one of the workout games). I find that by breaking it up, I exercise more often since I fit it in versus having to carve out a specific amount of time. |
I have never felt so good in my life about my eating habits as I do right now. Recently I have totally been without the desire to overeat.
I know that sounds really funny, but often when I go out into certain situations, I have this overwhelming desire to overeat. When we go out to a restaurant of any kind, when I am really hungry or when I am depressed. I have gone out to restaurants several times in the last few days. This has ALWAYS brought a desire to overeat. Since starting WW, I have been working on it. I now feel like I have a handle on it. We went out to dinner tonight, to a mongolian grill. I loaded mine up with veggies. I chose a medium bowl versus the small because it was only .50 more. In the past, I would have eaten all that. This time, my thought was, that will make easy leftovers to take to work for only .50 more. I got my medium and ate less than a small. I was in no way tempted to overeat. I quit when I was full. For the first time, I didn't have the desire to eat more even when I was full. This morning when going to lay down, I got really hungry and at first took a whole bunch of food. Well, I opted to have a little of the stuff I took, I did not overeat and I put the rest back as soon as I was full. I feel like an alcoholic that has finally gotten into recovery. I know that it is still an option to overeat and that it is still a weakness of mine...but for the first time in my life, I feel like I can overcome it. Believe it or not, I credit this to weight watchers. Having the points, the weekly points and the AP makes me feel like I have control over the food and my eating for the first time ever. I just wanted to share with someone. Nobody else in my family has ever had problems overeating so they totally don't get what a major thing this is for me. Roxanne |
