Welcome to the new faces!!!!

I am back to work today for the first time since last Thursday! We got about 27 inches of snow and there's just a lot of it out there. We're even supposed to get like three more storms between now and the end of February. Not quite sure where it's all going to go....especially if we get high quantities of snow like this past weekend's storm. Already, the roads are down to one lane (if that!). Definitely felt weird actually doing my hair and putting on something other than sweats this morning ;)

smashlers 02-12-2013 08:32 AM

OMG Chele, you live in a winter wonderland! I hope people in MA know how to navigate in weather better than people in Indiana... They seem to forget their common sense at home and put everyone in danger. Be Safe!

Last night, after I got homefrom the airport and our Indie trip to Trader Joes I was all prepared to get on the mill and kick some butt.... All I did was get super piss*d off. I turned it so, instead of facing the wall, I was facing out into the room. It was making me dizzy to stare at a blank wall. Then when I got to running, my thumping caused my fairly new laptop to fall off the top of the stereo that was on top of a cabinet. I thought I broke my laptop!! I didn't. Then I get back on and my water bottle that was balanced fell over too... I was mad and frustrated and got off and swore to my self during my whole shower. GRRRRRRR I need to make this space better!! its a pile of crap in there. (maybe I will post makeover montage pictures later this week when I get around to doing this)

Yesterdays Menu:
Breakfast: Airport Fruit cup, 0pts (seriously. those poor people who work in the airport. They had very few healthy choices)

Lunch: Subway veggie with light mayo (6 pts)
Baked lays, 3pts

Dinner:
Sloppy joes, 7
Spinach, 0pt

Snacks:
Pop chips, 3pts
Mozzarella cheese, 4 pts
2 apples, 0pts
WW Mint bars, 3 pts for 2.

No to get on that mill and hopefully not break anything.

It's Fat Tuesday and that means Packzi here at my office.

They are so so so bad for you but WW is all about balance, right?

The AP points I earn all week will go towards "covering" this tasty treat. (Did I mention that they are around 10-13 points each?) Thankfully these are a once a year thing since they are so delish.

**update: OK, my berry jam filled packzi was a-freaking-mazing! I cut it into small pieces so it would last longer. Yup, definitely glad they only come around once a year.**

LuvCats 02-12-2013 02:55 PM

Yikes Smashlers glad your laptop is okay. I hate it when you are trying to do something good and something goes wrong like that. I have 2 casserole dishes I like to use regularly with one lid to go with both--so guess what I broke the other day? Uggh.

Hey gooch think of it this way--if we didn't have those occasional special dishes there is no way we'd be able to keep it up over the long term. At least I couldn't. Celebrate it you not only had something special but you did it OP! :)

I'm down 2#. Slow and steady. Hope to keep it up but even if I stay the same next week it will be a celebration (out of town for the weekend).

gooch100 02-12-2013 03:22 PM

LuvCats- exactly, which is why I am loving WW.

And to combat the high number of points earlier in the day, dinner will be 3 oz of ground turkey and 1/2 cup brown rice stuffed in a red pepper topped with a bit of mozzarella cheese with a salad.

I have to say that a couple of months ago, I wouldn't have thought my dinner plan sounded good but now this sounds delish. Amazing how a few weeks of tracking your foods changes your perspective. :D

Chele615 02-12-2013 05:35 PM

Smashlers ~ Glad to hear that the laptop didn't break. That would have been awful!!! Mass people for the most part know how to drive in snow conditions, except for the first snowfall of the year every year. Then all **** breaks loose for that one commute ;)

I think because I literally didn't move from my bed for the four days I was housebound, my legs are killing me today!!! Whenever I was wandering around and walking at work, my legs seriously felt like they were cramping up. I was so worried I would get a random charlie horse or something all day long. I went to the gym and did some walking on the treadmill in order to get moving again and get my legs somewhat stretched out. I figured jumping back into running at the gym might not necessarily have been the best idea ;) Maybe tomorrow!!!!

BREAKFAST:

Dannon Light n Fit - 2 points
Fiber One Chocolate (1 cup instead of the 3/4 cup serving) - 3 points
Blueberries - 0 points

LUNCH:

Lite Wheat bread (2 slices) - 2 points
Deli Turkey (3 slices) - 2 points
Apple - 0 points
Yellow/Red Pepper Slices - 0 points

DINNER:

Meat Loaf - 6 points
Mashed Potatoes - 5 points

SNACK:

Banana - 0 points
Creamy Peanut Butter (1 tbs) - 3 points
Small Brownie at work - 3 points (best guesstimate)

Allotted Points - 29
Used - 26
Left - 3

Sorry for the few day absence. I was kinda busy this weekend. Plus I went waaaaay off plan and waaaay over points I assume. I just didn't track. I gained about 2 pounds but I am ok with that. It will come off. As long as I don't make it a regular habit to go off plan, then once in a while isn't going to kill me. Also, I made a deal with myself to buy a new book each week that I am on plan and don't use more than 10 of my weekly points.

I got my active link in today. I start my assesment and am looking forward to that.

I also got contacts today for the first time. Dr said my macula damage has increased a lot since the last time I was in there and he wants to see me more often. It was kind of bumming news but I didn't go pig out like I usually do! Went home and went to bed instead! lol

I got the new PB2. Going to try that with celery tonight if DH didn't use all the celery in the stew! lol

Straightahead: The fact that you even want to exercise is amazing. I don't even want to do that! Keep working at it! Super good job on reaching ONEderland!

Chickadee: Congrats on the loss! It's hard to lose weight slowly isn't it? It came on so slowly but we want it to go OFF fast and its hard to remind ourselves that slow and steady wins the race. lol

Geekmadre: welcome! Dh and I thought of going to see Warm Bodies. It looked cute.

Daimere: You know, I was thinking along with you about how bad it is that even these unhealthy foods are marketed to us as health foods. Applesauce in a jar for instance. Wow...do you know how much sugar are in most of those? And that is supposed to be healthy!

Gooch: Good job on the extra activity. Any counts and awesome on the loss! I have always heard that splitting activity counts as well. What is Packzi?

Smashlers: sounds like you had an amazing time! I have never liked the taste of beer. Makes me sad when I think of all the different kinds and flavors but just don't like the taste.

Ade: welcome. 2lbs over 3 years isn't too bad, you will be able to get that off and more in no time!

Sweettooth: That is a LARGE family outing! Where are you guys going in Az?

forkeeps: I can't even imagine running that much! Good job!

Fattitude: I work as a nurse at a secured home for people with mental health problems. Congrats on the loss. What is the wendie plan?

Luvcats: Where do you volunteer at? Congrats on the loss!

Chele: That is a LOT of snow!!!

My plan:

2 am
stew
celery with PB2
apples, kiwi, grape

6am
peaches packed in water
weight watchers smart one

dinner
I won't have any (I sleep through it) but will probably have the family make spaghetti or something like that.

Hi y'all! Sorry for not checking in here lately. Been busy. Seems everyone is doing fine here. Good to hear.

Ok lost 1.2 lbs on my last WI. Was actually glad even though it was not a big of a loss. It was a bad week for me with not tracking regularly at all and I am pretty sure I went over my DP and WP.

So started my new week pretty good. So far so good on the tracking. Last monday went to the gym and stayed for 3 classes~3 hours total. Did cardio strength, turbo kickboxing and fitness dance. I intended to just do the cardio strength but decided to stay for kickboxing. But because I love to dance I also stayed for the 3rd class. My friends at the gym was like if I was sure to stay for another class. Honestly I was already so tired from the 1st one because we did so much weight lifting and intervals. I felt I was so drained and lack energy. But I stayed and survived and that will be my last for staying and working out 3 hours or attending 3 classes. I know expert says that its better to exercise 30mins everyday than working out longer hours because it makes the body so tired and sometimes it takes longer to loose. So today did not even go at all to the gym. My muscles were sore as ****!! :D

straightahead i did loose some. 1.2 lbs on my WI. Thanks for asking :)

geekmadre and ade903 welcome!! Last weekend I was debating between warm bodies and hansel & gretel. I ended up watching H&G and it was an ok movie. But will surely watch warm bodies on my next weekend off :)

smashlers whew! close call with your laptop. Its so expensive for electronics to have them fixed. (unless its still under warranty)

To everyone who had a loss in their WI congratulations! And to those that stayed the same or gained some its ok. Just be patient and just get back on track (I think I need this advice myself :D) and eventually we will see a loss. So goodluck to us all! ;):)

gooch100 02-13-2013 08:55 AM

roxannestags - packzi are these delicious round jelly filled donuts rolled in sugar. They are a Fat Tuesday tradition in the Polish community (from what I understand.) Think of a regular jelly filled donut on steroids. :D I logged it in at 12 points.

myfavisblue - congrats on the loss! That is great.

Smashlers - breaking my laptop is one of my big fears. Glad your survived!

Chele615 - I won't be complaining about our puny 10 inches anymore. I can't imagine getting that much snow and being stuck in the house for so long. Glad you were able to get out and get moving.

After the packzi yesterday, I was up about a pound this morning but my pants fit better so not sure what that is all about. Maybe the exercising is tightening up my lower half.

So far I have gotten up 3 days in a row to spend 20 min on the bike. Woot! Even DH has been impressed that I have managed to haul myself out of the warm bed to go in the cold basement since I am SO not a morning person.

One more big hurdle in the food dept this week. My parents are taking DH and I out for his birthday Friday to Red Lobster. I am thinking that we will ask them to NOT bring those delicious rolls to the table. If they aren't there, we can't be tempted right?

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday!

Chele615 02-13-2013 09:12 AM

Breaking my laptop (or any of my expensive electronic items actually) is definitely one of my worst fears too!! It's amazing how something so little like my phone can cause huge amounts of panic if it is not safely put away somewhere ;)

forkeeps 02-13-2013 09:18 AM

Hey folks! I don't think I checked in yesterday. I'm having a bad week, at least mentally/emotionally. I have pretty much sat on my butt all week long so far. I have stayed at my points, not dipped too much into my weekly 49. I have 15 activity points for the week, all from my activity over the weekend. But since then I am so unmotivated. :(

I think that no matter what else happens today, I will do a session of 30 Day Shred. Then I can at least feel I am active.

I think one problem is I don't really have much energy, so although I can have a good workout, for the rest of the day I am not very active at all. Because of that, I get a little down and think, what's the point? How am I going to lose if I am so sedentary.

Anyway, enough of my pity party. Here's to a better day!

gooch100 02-13-2013 09:36 AM

forkeeps - I am pretty sedentary too. I sit at my desk all day at work on the computer.

I try to remind myself that weight loss is a marathon not a sprint, so there will be highs and lows. The goal is to not let the lows totally derail you. Right?

Personally, I can't even conceive of doing the 30 Day Shred. The fact that you can finish it is great! (I am a bit jealous since I am so out of shape.)

I think it is a good sign that, even though you have been feeling low, you have stayed on plan and are still counting your points. A down week is to be expected now and then, especially in the winter with all the dreary weather.

Not sure if any of the above helped but just know you are not alone.

BrettnLaurynsmommi 02-13-2013 10:01 AM

I'm new to WW, tonight is my second weigh in. I have been searching for a long time to find the right "diet" for myself. I have tried them all, and have wanted to start weight watchers for a few years now. So two weeks ago I just got off the couch and drove myself to the meeting in my town. In a way I felt kind of silly standing in the line to be weighed in. I kept trying to get the nerve to leave, then I thought everyone would think I was strange. I knew they were all there for the same reason as myself. They made me feel so wellcome. After the meeting I felt proud. I have been working hard at tracking everyday, and exercising. So I am happy to be a part of the group and look forward to going through the journey with everyone!

SoMuchFattitude 02-13-2013 10:24 AM

GAH - I'm SO tired. I get terrible insomnia when I PMS...hopefully TOM comes today so I can get some sleep. Ugh....

I've got my activelink working and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'm a competitive person and it's extremely motivating. :carrot:

roxannestags - the Wendie plan is a cycling of points so your metabolism doesn't get accustomed to your daily intake. Let me know how you like the PB2 and Activelink!

myfavisblue - make sure you're stretching! It'll help with the soreness and keep you moving. :)

forkeeps - Hang in there!

gooch100 - I also have a desk job. I've started using a bathroom farther away from me and getting up every hour or so and just walking down the hall for like 5 minutes or so. It's been really nice for my mental health and it's been nice to stretch my legs. Plus is makes my Activelink light up!

BrettnLaurynsmommi - Welcome!

smashlers 02-13-2013 11:37 AM

SoMuchFattitude TELL US MORE ABOUT THE ACTIVE LINK. Gahhhh, I want something. I just don't knowwwwwwww. I have been looking at Polar watches like this one here, but its pricey. There is no monthly fee on it... but its $95. I am just not sure if I am at that point in my activity to need to spend money on a doo-dad. You know? It's just as important for me to get up and do something.
