Question Doing WW while pregnant?

Now I know WW doesn't allow pregnant woman to officially do the program, but would it be safe to follow it on my own?

I'm not pregnant yet, but we have started trying, and I've been on WW for 9 months now, faithfully following with only a few slip ups. Almost down 50lbs, still have another 80ish to go.

So I thought since I've been fairly consistant with the program it would be ok to continue and maybe add in a few extra daily points? I'll ask my doctor too when I actually do get pregnant, just want to know what my fellow WW's have done.

I've known several WW members to get pregnant, and their doctors gave them the go ahead to follow the program as normal for the first trimester without changing anything.

I believe they had to tweak the program in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, though.

Your individual situation may vary, of course.

thanks, that's what I was thinking too...I figured I would be ok to follow it still, its not like I'm making a huge drastic change, since I've already been on plan for 9 months.

I have friends who kept dieting during pregnancy because they were considered overweight or obese, as long as you do not fall in the normal range of weight and you are over then it is actually considered helpful to getting pregnant and healthier for pregnancy. You can always talk to your doctor of course but I'm sure it will be no problem, expecially since WW isnt some crazy fad diet or taking away to many calories.

I would consult a doctor before you start trying to get pregant. I talked to my doctor about it and he said it would be safer if I got pregant once I was under 200lbs.
You might be totally fine but better to go see your family doctor before hand just to be safe.
