Clarification of the advertising rules (01-10-2003 until 02-10-2003)

Hi!
It seems there has been a little confusion over the need to remind everyone of the rules, and what the rules actually mean.
The rule was not directed at any one person. The reason behind the reminder was because we've had an increase of new members over the last few weeks that seem to have joined to try to cash in on the New Years fitness rush. As an example, these include Herbalife salespersons, trainers wishing to promote their services, and that sort of situation.
Most of you have probably visited other forums in the past that were filled with 50% posts advertising every diet gimmick on the market, and no real weight loss information or support. We try hard to prevent that from happening here.
If you wish to discuss a particular commercial product or service and find out how it might (or might not) help you, that is fine. That's not the same as advertising, as you are not pushing a product with the benefit of monetary gain.
Also, many members have often sold unwanted or unused items on ebay or half.com (etc) and that is fine as well. Our rules are geared to people that sign up with the only purpose of selling products or services and are not here for weight loss support (also applies to existing members that embark on commercial ventures and follow suit).

It didn't snow here yesterday. Good thing too cause 15 miles north of us they got 3 feet of the white stuff. Today, cause I wanted to go to the movies, it snowed all morning and the roads got really bad just when we would have had to leave to catch a matinee.

Ended up doing stuff around the house and shoveling. At least it's 6 inches of light fluffy snow, not the stuff that weighs a ton.

CYNTHIA: How was the snowboarding?? I love the Rockies but have only been there a couple of times. CONGRATS on that 10 lb loss.
TERRI: Hope your friends DH is doing better. He's in my prayers. You said:

Tonight is roast chicken with a fruit stuffing, veggies, and for the rest of the house big, greasy, Poppin Fresh muffins. I'll pass on those and have a slice of fresh oatbread.
